I really hate those decks that take for ever to win the game "I won already.... but not yet... and im not actually sure I won", I dont mind uninteractive combo decks like Ad Nauseam, I do dislike Eggs or Latern.
Hey guys, I've been playing modern for the past year with stompy and decided I want to build a better deck. Affinity is the number 1 contender right now, specially because its one of those decks you can start cheap and improve as you go.
Right now I've got a hard limit of 150$, and this is the list I came up with: https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/565540#paper
Do you think the list is somewhat good? What would you change in it?
What do you guys think of Rishkar, Peema Renegade? I'm no pro with the deck but it looks interesting, it brings 4 power spread in 2 or 3 creatures, which make it "hard to remove", it includes counter shenanigans, which work with avatar of the resolute and maybe the mana ability can come handy.
I've been playing stompy for about a year, to see if I liked the format without a big investment. Now that I know I like the format, I would like to buy a better deck that suits my play playstyle better.
What I'm looking for in the deck:
-not super aggressive nor super controlling, I like middle grounds, tempo and midrange (the more interactive, the better)
-t2 or better and resilient to meta changes, my main concern is getting a better deck that will last a long time.
-not jund nor abzan, they are out of my budgrt
Right now I have around 200 play points which im going to spend in a TSP/PLC/FUT, mainly hoping to turn my play points into some tickets.
The problem is im really new to drafting, so I thought that maybe someone more experienced would like to help me out during the draft, so someone else gets to "play" a draft and I get to learn a thing or two. My idea is to do a shared screen skype call (or similar) and play the draft with this person.
Initially we would only play 2 drafts, but if we do well enough, I would go on until I run out of play points.
Hey guys, i've got a simple question, do you think making a single set 90 card microcube would be interesting? Block cubes are a common thing, and they are 360 cards with 3 sets. It seems like something reasonable to make a 90 card cube from a single set.
I have a spare set of commons and uncommons from my RTR and INN set cubes, and it seems like something fun to do with them instead of let them collect dust
Have you thought about expanding the cube to 110 or 120? Drafting the exact same 90 cards may be an issue, taking into account you could probably guess most of what is going to appear in the last cards.
Guys ive been thinking about the sideboard suggestions you gave me (list on page 158) and came up with this, do you think its ok? I left 2 free slots to add whatever cards I need for the local meta (like putting 1 or 2 feed the clan if its filled with monored, etc.). I also decided to change prey upon with dismember.
Hey guys, im a casual magic player that is trying to get into tournaments. I decided to go with stompy, as its a cheap deck from a non rotating format.
Right now I have my maindeck complete (which is quite standard)
I want to build my sideboard, but im on a very tight budget and wanted to know what would you recommend as a standard sideboard (I know this depends on my local meta, but as of now, I dont even know where im going to play haha).
Ive been thinking in the following cards: Deglamer, Feed the Clan, Gut Shot, Ground Seal (as a budget replacement for relic of progenitus) and Natural State.
Also, which ratio of these cards would you run? And which of the more expensive cards (like choke and torpor orb) do you think are a must for the deck?
I recently bought a common/uncommon play set for RTR and INN to make some casual decks.
I already made the following decks:
UG selfmill
GW tokens
RB aggro
UR spells matter ( delver + goblin elegtromamcer + guttersnipe + instants/sorceries)
Do you guys have any other ideas? I thought about werewolves and some kind of annoying invisible stalker +curiosity control.
@Airithne: Would you mind explaining the uses of jade mage in the deck? It looks like marath could do a better job at making tokens, which is the only thing she does. Selesnya guildmage looks a little better, due to the option of giving a massive pump to all the little guys.
I think im going to build a Marath deck, because apparently both Oloro and Derevi need some more expensive cards to work really well
One of the videos that FriendlyNudist recommended me is based around Marath, do you think this would be a reasonable starting point? The Other 99, Ep. 51: Nature of the Beast
Thank you so much guys for all the advice, apparently the three commanders I like the most are also the best Oloro, Derevi and Marath.
I forgot some important information, my budget is going to be 30$ initially and about 30$ more over some time, taking into account that, which of these three do you think would be the best?
Also, does someone have any budget lists for any of these?

Is someone intrested in this?
P.S: I hope this isnt off topic
