I just read the Thran, It was mindblowing good. Yawgmoth was the bastard i always expected him to be.
Now i'm about to finish The brothers wars and it's even better !, I'm really in love with the characters, specially Tawnos...and it's interesting to hear names like Feldon and Hurkyl and give them faces and personalities, after so many years being familiar with cards that menction them.
Any other books I should read to know more about Urza and company ?, what books follows in chronological order after the brother wars ? ( if there is a list somewhere i would love to have it for reference).
I specially would love to read more books that include Gix, he was one of my favorite characters in the thran, his appereances in the brother's war are some of my favorite passages. I'm really not that interested in the weatherlight's saga, for some reason always disliked Gerrard and company.
I play magic since Invasion but never had the chance to read magic novels until recently, oh boy did i miss so much. Woah.
7 mana is a lot ?, nah, Most decks in standard can easily cast Platinum Angel with little effort.
The thing is that it's better to cast something that actually gives advantage over your opponent and helps you win the match as soon as possible instead of, well, turtling, there just a ton of stuff that's much... much better.
There is not such thing as "Skill testing" cards, only bad players who are too lazy to think for themselves. There are dozen of examples of cards without obvious uses that found a home or even became very expensive ( Dark depths anyone ?).
The funny thing is that as soon as a pro finds a good use for any of the cards in the first post a lot of people will accept it as a good card. Netdecking mind in action.
Not at all, it's the kind of card that warps certain formats, and even affects the design of other cards:
Lighting bolt came back, but the creature power creep prevented it from wrecking too much havoc ( still a very strong card).
In order to dark ritual to came back, most future black spells would go overcosted ( Example: this guy is too strong at 1BB, let's make him 2BB to prevent him from being played in first turn), and Your hardly would see any strong low costed spells. It's just not worthy and unfun.
REALLY ?, people complains because cards are not expensive enough ?, REALLY ?. There are plenty of good cards ( and many at rare, thank God), having reasonable prices doesn't make them bad.
I'm very happy because I will buy the cards I want without expending half my salary. I can't believe some people live in an bizarre universe where cheap== narrow and bad.
I care about mad Karn and can't wait to see how everything unfolds, truly interesting and truly well done. The article is flavorful and made me want to know more about the new phyrexians.
It's pretty much a blue/black Garruk: it's fast, VERY agressive and effective. Of course, he only will be effective in an artifact deck, but oh boy he's good with artifacts.
I didn't buy much SOM, but a box of this set is beggining to look sexier and sexier.
Anyone who played during old Mirrodin should be aware that the Affinity problem only came into its own with the release of Darksteel. It is more than likely that many cards in Scars will reach their full potential as the block develops.
Quoted for truth. During Mirrodin only goblins, Astral Slide and UW control dominated. Even Beasts decks. Affinity decks were underpowered, used stuff like Broodstars combinated with lighting greaves as win conditions, the disciple of the vault helped once in a while to take some advantage from upcomming Akroma's vengeances. With Darksteel Affinity became bat☺☺☺☺ insane, the ravager made every single unblocked artifact creature in the deck, even an ornithopter a potential monster, made the disciple the equivalent of Rambo with an automatic rifle, and the skullclamp was so easy to use and unfair that to this day I refusse to use it.
Wait, why is Primeval Titan considered a must-have? It's really not a good card at all. It's just mediocre.
A 6/6 body for six that searchs two lands of any type when it's played and two more every time it attacks. It's hideous. Lands are free, I don't need to spend mana in getting lands when I can easily get two over the course of two turns, for no mana and untapped ( take that, crappy privameral overcosted piece of crap titan).
Look at Chimney Imp, for one less mana you have evasion and a potentially disruptive game transmuting abilty, at common rarity, that's what I'm talking about baby !

Karn is the closest thing to Yawgmoth right now, enjoy him.
And agree with eliasfajardo..the answers are everywhere, from booklets to articles, use the search function.
Edit: Well, Incinerate, lol.
Try to use the correct names and codenames for sets next time, it's not that hard.

So...You think that it needs to be a Titan which sweeps the opponent's board constantly. That sounds so fun and balanced.
Thank God You're not in charge of designing cards.

Well done Wizards, well done.
