My point was not only the point that they are capitalists, it was the point that capitalism is the way the world goes around currently, and it is affecting the very way in which we think. Capitalism, also, springs from Ethical Egoism, meaning that when one's goals and aims are being stressed, it kind of becomes acceptable to kick someone in the knee just hard enough not to break it to save a few hundred bucks. E.G: People think that they are so much more important than others that doing wrong to others is right as long as they benefit from it.

I agree with you that capitalism affects peoples’ mindsets but I still think you are oversimplifying things. I don’t think those people were consciously making the decision to hurt someone for money. I think there were several factors that brought out the worst in human nature. I’m not disagreeing that capitalism doesn’t affect the way we think; I just think you were greatly oversimplifying the situation.

"I believe it's fine, capitalism does need sacrifices. It's no problem if one person dies, if millions get their presents cheaper."

That doesn't really make it anymore acceptable, does it? Statistics don't, by definition, work on personal scale.

So are you saying it is unacceptable to drive cars. Thousands of families are torn apart by auto accidents. It's no problem if thousands of people die, if millions of people get to their destinations faster.

I think you are missing the point. No one is saying that it's acceptable a person was killed if thousands of people got to buy things on sale.

    Quote from Amadi
I mean, why on earth do those thousands of people get stuffed there? Isn't that like against the weight/space limitations in the walmart building? Isn't that like, against any and all fire security limits? What's the point in making such deals anyway, other than tradition, the "capitalism" day?

You are correct in that the Walmart definitely did something wrong and is at least partially responsible. The point of the deals is mostly just a scam to make money and people fall for it. Not because they are evil greedy capitalists, but because they get excited at the prospect of buying gifts for their loved ones? It also helps the economy or whatever. Not that it can help the economy much. If people want examples of the evil of capitalism than look at the business executives going on luxury retreats after the government bails them out even though they are responsible for creating the mess in the first place...

Still the entire thing is tragic and the store needs to take measures to prevent this from happening in the future.

I don't like the new "prereleases". And only 1 week before the release. We already had this, its called a release event. I loved going to prereleases for the experience as much as for getting the cards early. Now it seems like we have two release events, instead of a prerelease. This is very disappointing to me since the prerelease is the only magic event besides draft me and my friends regularly attend. Its cool to have a big open area where you can trade and buy cards from the dealers. Now its nothing special, to me at least. I rarely attend release events and i don't see how this is much different. Between this, losing theme decks (being able to get a 60 card deck easily is what got me into magic), and this one less card per pack BS, I think magic has gone downhill imo. I'm not going to quit magic or anything, i just think these particular changes are for the worst.

From a Buick 8, don't read it, its really boring and not on par with a lot of Stephen King's other novels. Read The Dark Tower Series instead! It starts off a little slow, but it is an epic experience! Duma Key, his most recent novel, was also a good read.

He means the color green and the color blue, not philosophically. From the color scheme it looks like it could be WR or WB.

Pretty cool card. Fun for casual. I hope the WR and WB ones are as well designed.

Really fun deck! Makes me want to break out the Tooth and Nails collecting dust in my trade binder. I don't think it would make competitive, but i reminds me how fun beating down with big creatures can be. I would also suggest some Spectral Force action. Smile

@ ZetaZeta: I see no troll ascetic on his list. Did he just write troll and you assumed it was ascetic, and then he edited his post later? Not that it really matters, its just comparing Colossus to Ascetic and Mossbridge are very different things.

It seems a little silly, but i like it! It uses a bunch of new hybrid cards that seem to have potential. I don't think it would ever see competitive play as is, but with more Shadowmoor on the way, you never know.

oh..kk then(alot needs to be changed in my cas. ariea) well then i agree.. it could make a good comeback...but it is allready at 7dollars a pop..>_> i dont think that it will get much higher maby 8-9$$... but it seems a fun deck to play WUG with like teferi, teaching and glitter and XSHM cards...>_> might be like the utility decks running around(with either teachings, wish, or that enchantment searcher)

Its not at $7 a pop, its at $1-2.

Thanks for bringing this up, its an interesting idea, and although i dont think Glittering wish will be insane its definitely something to think about as more of the set is revealed.

I think it's arbitrary, myself, but I decided to make it to fuel rumors among tons of people who look too much into art. ;P

I thought the comparison was ridiculous but this made it look plausible to me lol.

I find it interesting how Americans don't like to discuss political incorrectness in the classroom. I don't mind telling people my werid ideas.

Yeah this is pretty much untrue, at least where I'm from (Massachusetts). Our classroom discussions get pretty weird rather frequently. And we have had plenty of discussions about stuff like that in history, so i don't know where that came from.

I wish our textbooks were that funny. I mean we have to laugh at much less funny things then that to make it through the day.

@azngenius: Thankee sai, good to know.

Ok, rather than start a new thread I'll pose another question that came up. This one people want confirmation mostly because it pissed people off. Say everyone is playing a mono green deck with only forests for the lands besides a player playing a WB deck. Can that player play Conjurer's Ban and potentially make everyone miss a land drop.

EDIT: He names "forest" of course.

Say my opponent blocks my deathtouching 3/3 wolf with only Skeletal Vampire and can't make more bats. He currently has two bats. He want his vampire to survive. Does he have to sacrifice one bat for the damage and another for the deathtouch. Also, since the Skeletal Vampire was tapped and removed from combat, does it still deal 3 damage to the wolf and kill it?

Regeneration is a destruction-replacement effect. The word "instead" doesn't appear on the card but is implicit in the definition of regeneration. "Regenerate [permanent]" means "The next time [permanent] would be destroyed this turn, instead remove all damage from it, tap it, and (if it's in combat) remove it from combat." Abilities that trigger from damage being dealt still trigger even if the permanent regenerates.

The bolded part is what makes me think he may have to sacrifice two bats but i'm not sure since after the first regenerate resolves the reason for the second may no longer be there.

Thanks in advanced, i normally would let him sacrifice just one bat, but everyone involved (Its a multiplayer game) wants this to go to the forums since situations like this are likely to come up again (possibly in this game).

Yeah, its a great card. I used it in my casual UR deck to tutor up anything from Teferi to Niv-Mizzet to Sower of Temptation. Unfortunately I have yet to bounce a sliver/changeling.
