Jul 28, 2008Redington posted a message on Random Thought: Running On ReservesWell, it does depend on the demographic they're targeting with the movies they produce. Most likely, I wouldn't fully enjoy a movie that was targeted for a 16-year old girl, nor would I fully comprehend a movie that was targeted for 40 and up year olds because it'd probably have references in them that I wouldn't get. It depends on who they are aiming to get the most profit out of with.Posted in: Redington Blog
I am 21 years-old, almost 22. While I like a good here and there, it's not something I could go to the theater everytime to see. If I'm going to the theater, it's for something worth-while. Like the Dark Knight was and Indy 4 (while I liked the Dark Knight more, Indy had its own enjoyments). While I like action films, explosions, and such, I also want to see some sort of character development. Of course, you can only show so much of that if you're going to see a thriller movie, I think at least movies should have some kind of meaning to them other than shallowness.
Films that I probably wouldn't see in the theater are horror movies, teeny bopper flicks, and kid movies (unless it's like Narnia, that was pretty good). Horror movies really just don't hit it home anymore like they use to. They're boring now for me unless they encorporate other aspects into it other than the cheap screams. Example would be the movie 23. While I wouldn't consider it much of a horror movie, it was somewhat scarey but interesting at the same time. It wasn't because I wanted to see Jim Carey, I wanted to see what the overall concept was about, the number 23 (although, I didn't see this one in the theaters, I watched the DVD).
At any rate, I guess what I'm trying to say is they could still make good movies if they have good content and their target demographic is what I'm in. Granted, demographics can be generalized and stereotyped to say that a certain demographic likes a certain kind of movie the most (which isn't true for everyone in that demographic), it just comes down to personal taste in movies right?

I'm thinking you and I have different definitions of epic.Quote from Alacar Leoricar »Also, I still disagree on The Dark Knight being an 'epic movie'. Rarely can a film claim that and be right. True enough, the film is larger than life, and made of awesome dripping in sweet coolness, but it is not epic.
In my mind, what you're saying constitutes a legendary film; which is a step higher than epic. I wouldn't consider The Dark Knight legendary because of some things about it that don't add up. But I think it's definitely qualifies as an epic movie. But really what it comes down to is your opinion vs. mine and that doesn't really get anywhere. So I'll leave it at that. -

I wasn't trying to be mean to you or anything. I was just saying the stuff simply. But I didn't know you were just making a joke, since you had a random thought.

G/W Aggro is pretty solid for FNMs, I think. Oversoul is pretty nasty along with Colossus and Finks are pretty nice beaters.

Edit: Come to think of it. I don't know too many other forum site I go to that have a blog feature. This is pretty cool though.

Jul 26, 2008Redington posted a message on Just a quick random thoughtIt's more of symbolism that taking it literally, though. The wafer is a representation of "the body of Christ".Posted in: Random Rants
Jesus said: "Take and eat, this is my body".
Of course the bread wasn't apart of his body, literally. But the bread was a symbol of his sacrifice. I wouldn't say he was promoting Cannibalism. If he where, then a lot of things would be different.
