First off, B/W Tokens was my very first casual deck then modern deck, so tokens has a special place in my heart.
Your list definitely looks spicy. I may have to try it out.
The thing that made Matt Ness' list so good was the explosive starts that the mana-dorks brought. Mana-dorks, Nissa, and Township is what I believe makes the G/W verion far better than the B/W Tokens build. The Townships also turns those dorks into threats later on in the game.
As far as Westvale Abbey...I love that card and I want to make it work, but it seems like a win-more card.
Anyway, this is all theory right now as I'm building the deck and haven't played it yet. When I start to get games under my belt, I can make better assumptions.
I hope more people pick this deck up because its pretty sweet!
Was wondering since this deck has Top 8'd and Top 16'd a GP (there were two Bant Eldrazi decks in the top 16 of this GP), and top 16 a SCG, when will be moved to developing competitive?
Oh, saw this list that was in the top 16 of GP Charlotte. A little different to the usual list. Also, check out the sideboard.
So I think I would change Raise the Alarm for Secure the Wastes. With all the mana dorks, the payoff is the same in the beginning, but in the late game it can be a blowout.
That G/W/b Tokens deck is is pretty sweet. Pulling for that deck to make top 8. Also, that Bant Eldrazi deck can be brutal with the some draws. Gotta love GPLA right now.
Yeah, I have the Goyf's, just need the Noble Hierarchs. Hopefully, I'll be able to try it out soon in the next few weeks. This deck reminds a of Midrange Zoo list with Eldrazi. Anyway, let me know how the deck does for you this weekend. Todd Steven's said the deck was better than he was, so that speaks to the potential of it.
Looks like Bant Eldrazi could be a thing. Will definitely work on getting the cards to try this list out. Only thing I'm not sure of, in this list, is the Goyf. What do you think?
Well he did just play 9 rounds of magic and he's locked for day 2. He could be exhausted mentally and physically. Playing 9 rounds in a row is brutal sometimes.
@Ayiluss - That can be said for any deck and any player. Also, Grixis Delver has a better match-up with Jund more than the other variants because of the removal sweet.
@Kitkenshinx - That match up speaks to my heart. So interactive and so much fun.
I would love to JTMS in Modern but I don't think it'll ever happen. That being said, I believe Modern is in a good place at the moment, however, according to Mtggoldfish, the best blue-based deck is Merfolk which is not a control deck. Modern needs a blue-based control deck to help keep things in check with Jund. Blue needs a strong finisher and a strong control card before it becomes Tier 1 again. Anyway, those are my thoughts.
