Good points from both Void and Antiantiserum. I suppose it's possible that the elf may be from the Golgari on Ravnica. At this point I'm leaning more towards the idea that it's just a generic ominous looking elf though.
Hey guys. Wondering if anyone knows or can tell what plane (if any) the new card Talons of Wildwood might be featuring in the art. The elf looks somewhat New Phyrexian to me, but I'm not sure if the trees in the picture can support this claim. If anyone could help with an answer or their own personal speculation it would be much appreciated.
The only way I can really see buying a box to be fully justifiable is if you're doing draft/sealed/some other format of unopened packs. Everytime I've ever seen someone just cracking a box, it has appeared as nothing more than another form of gambling money away.
Hey guys. I recently bought a couple From the Vault: Legends cards. When they arrived, I was kind of surprised at how glossy the fronts were of the cards. I've never bought a FTV product or prior cards from FTV sets before, and immediately I became suspicious they might be fake. The text and rosette patterns seem to check out, but when I did the light test almost no light comes through the cards. Is this normal for an FTV product? Is it just with this particular set? Did I get sent fakes?
Please if anyone knows more about this set from cards you know are real, feel free to post here. I can't find anything on this site or google in regards to this topic and I think it's very much worth discussing.
Have you guys (the RC) ever talked about implementing an official sideboard rule for EDH? If so, when was the last time it was brought up? Would you say the majority of the RC has grown more or less fond of the idea?

Rashmi is a great card, but nothing like prophet. Prophet was just inherently broken (debateably) whereas Rashmi still requires other cards to like the Orrery to even somewhat break it. I would personally run it in any UG deck, but not necessarily in any or even most three+ color decks containing blue and green.
I think the big reasoning behind this card remaining banned is that it is the ONLY card in the game that flat out wins upon resolving. I don't have much of an opinion on whether or not this is fully justifiable, but I can see how this would be viewed as a worrisome card by the RC since it is unique in this way.
I think the fact that Vial Smasher was singled out for the new planeswalker damage errata implies that hers is the 4-color deck getting reprinted. Yidris I think?
That definitely would make sense. I personally would rather them do a deck that still needs foiling on the legendaries, but I'm a little biased since I already have all the 2016 decks and we know for fact that one of them is in based on the number of foil legendaries. Atraxa is MUCH more needed, but leave it to WotC to make yet ANOTHER mistake on their supplemental products this year.
Just recently I've been learning to move from simple one time powerful effects over to more engine/reoccurring effect style cards. Also, I've been building with cards that specifically cater to my commander/overall strategy in place of just throwing in whatever known powerful Staples. Overall my decks have become a lot more resilient and will often fly under the radar against new opponents getting away with a lot more wins.
My playgroup uses 10 card sideboards which we sideboard in after commanders are revealed. We have found that this is by far the best way to play if you're going even remotely past very casual because SO MANY commanders are just completely unviable once you get remotely competitive. This allows WAY more varience of commanders while still being more thought provoking then a very casual game. We limit it to 10 cards because we've wanted to minimize how much we can just alter decks in order to provide deck building skill but still have the tools to deal with a card or strategy that just hoses your general.
