The bird seems ok. If I had a red morph deck with red or etb focued deck I might run him but compared to the other mythic morph it seems subpar.

    Hooded Hydra

A lot more flexible, cheaper, easier to abuse...

I think the design is really neat though.

Is there a database where you can see pictures of foil cards? Sometimes it seems to be really risky to buy a foil card because it is hard tell what it going to look like especially with newer cards.

eg. bab nightveil specter looks pretty neat:
    http://i.tcgplayer.com/67369.jpg
but when the card arrived in mail the picture was really dark. Same thing with Earwig Squad.

What does Willbender do? Slice and Dice doesn't target, so it sounds like it just dies.

Marath tries to ping hooded hydra so that it would die (4dmg from slice 1 from marath). Willbender changes the "ping" target to spellbreaker. Now marath has 4 toughness and spellbreaker is dealt 5 dmg in total.

There is no reason to do this. If women already play games then there is no need for any change. If women don't play games then gaming just isn't for women.

Everytime a publisher/dev says "we are trying reach a broaader audience" it means that the game is going to suck. This doesn't just apply to games but to everything.

Do you remember how good that pg-13 robocop was? I wish I didn't.
A fair number of people seem to think "better representations of women in video games" means "developers will only be able to make clones of Gone Home". Which isn't true at all.

I mean, look at Portal. It's not a bad game. Feminist Frequency recommends it. Look at Duke Nukem Forever. It doesn't try to appeal to women. It also... was not a good game.

Feminist frequency also says mirror's edge had difficult controls. The game has like 7 buttons and 4 of them are the wasd. If you remove one of those 3 non-movement controls you have "Gone Home".
Duke Nukem's problem was that it tried to appeal the larger audience.
Portal did not try to appeal to women.

Nobody's saying that you can't like Ms. Pac-Man or any other game. The point is that, overall, games should represent women better. But that doesn't mean that the people playing or making these games are misogynists or anything.

Well I wouldn't call it rigged (i honestly just wanted the pics not the article) but when you compare vga towards something like oscars it just looks like a joke.

All of the judges are financially dependant on the publishers who's games they judge. Bad score=no review code=no/less money. Then there is the whole agenda that all these "journalists" want to push. Games are not scored based on how good they as games but how well they fit agenda x.

Basically the judge has extreme bias towards one of the contenders of the awards. On top of that he is one of those anti-gg people.

Why are we talking some achient game that nobody playes anymore? If you are gonna just cherry pick atleast pick something that makes your point of view look good.

This is what people play today:
    http://store.steampowered.com/stats/

    This is abit old news:
    http://lu-tengs-recliner-of-rage.tumblr.com/post/104512562407/video-game-awards-confirmed-for-rigged

It's just really hard to take this award show seriously when judges have financial intersts with the games they judge. (it also doesn't help that they have no taste what so ever).

Oh yes. Had many spree-shooting threats sent in to your speaking engagements?

Haaaang on. You've already had proof of harassment of two of those women, and replied to it, in this very thread, about three pages back.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZxzJGgox_E

The only proof there is that there is no proof.

If this harassment is so prevelant there should be thousands of tweets easily avaible. WHERE ARE THEY???

If all proof you can get is some random troll it just begs the question, maybe it is just anita's alt account? Wouldn't be the first time sjw makes ***** up. At best it proves that anita/wu/guinn met a troll on the internet. Who hasn't met a troll?

Note that some of this stuff arrives via physical mail, or telephone. Twitter isn't the whole world.

    1. A person.

    2. The imporantant bit is here: "A fan of indie game developer Brianna Wu made them, using the text from some of Wu’s acerbic tweets about #GamerGaters"
Do to others what you want them to do to you

    -some random dude, ad.

    3. Did you read those comments? Lots of those comments are attacking her video not herself. I didn't see a single rape/death threat and the other ad hominem attacks are almost nonexistant compared to the ones that question why she needs money, how is sexism an issue and various logical fallacies she presents in her video.

But hey, atleast you managed better than the guy few pages ago. Have a cookie.

Also there are no gender issues in gaming and original topic is not about that anyways.
    A) There definitely are gender issues in gaming, especially in the gaming community
    B) It started out as a harassment campaign against a female developer before the whole "ethics in game journalism" thing was added to cover that up. Then it got combined with a harassment campaign against a woman who makes videos about gender issues.

    a) there is no proof of this.
    b) calling people out on their bs is not harassment.

Are you saying that what happened to Zoe Quinn isn't harassment? Or what happened to Anita Sarkeesian isn't harassment? (And I should probably use 'is happening' there.)

They've received death threats, rape threats, a constant stream of insults; that certainly appears to be harassment. If you want to debate the points someone makes in a video, _that_ can be not-harassment, although if you start adding abuse to the debate, you're back looking at harassment again.

You say these things but provide zero proof. I would go find it myself but all I find is "comments are disabled". Tweets from one or two random people is not "a movement of women hating white neckbeards". Seriously I get more harassment than wu, quinn and anita combined when I pick omni knight and play for 15 minutes.

My complaint is not that a similar issue exists in non-game media. It's that for non-games, it's a relatively standard topic of discussion (I sure sat through it in my lit classes, dunno about you), but when it's games, it's suddenly "just fantasy" and a faux pas to bring up the issue at all. For this example it's the glorification of war, but there's lots of other things that have that same dynamic (and to bring the thread back around to something resembling the original topic, a lot of issues involving gender qualify).

All fictional media is just fantasy. It has never been proven that playing violent video games makes you violent.

Also there are no gender issues in gaming and original topic is not about that anyways.

Yeah its seemed a lot more photo shoppy for a while now. Personally i miss the old art. As impressive as most of it is, there isn't an artist working on magic these days that i wouldn't trade for Harold McNeil, Rebecca guay, or Phil and Kaja foglio.

    http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?action=advanced&artist= [%22Harold%20McNeill%22]
    http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?action=advanced&artist=|[%22Phil%20Foglio%22]|[%22Kaja%20Foglio%22]|[%22Kaja%20%26%20Phil%20Foglio%22]

    Really?

Many of folgios' art is really flat and McNeill could be summed up as "random whirly lines". Compare these to something like enter the infinite or nyx-fleece ram

    Or OOOOOO ihsan's shade!

I liked those cool "scroll" like text backgrounds too. Were the best Grin

I hate the old "scroll" backgrounds. It makes reading the rules text really hard.
