I love that angel. Beautiful art, too. But no Iona II (at least in mythic slot) makes me Frown

I like the new Linvala. At least she is mechanically linked to the set, unlike her previous iteration. Plus being so cheap, in colors that play a lot with flying synergy, with two relevant creature types, and with a potential ability, i like it. Loaded for a 3cmc creature.

The art is sweet, too. I hope she has a showcase frame with alternate art.

This Jace art is so good. And the showcase version is giving me Jamie Madrox vibes which are very fine by me.

Really? I think logical answer might be all the commanders from commander 2011 and 2013

That would be sad. And I doubt it considering these 32 are from all of magic history. Game-wise

    Lol, beren camlost, facts.

Anyway, any guesses on the other 31 bonus commanders from throughout mtg history? Idk but I hope they're all not commander-worthy which seems counterproductive to the set but seeing as they are bonus special cards... because that would rule out a lot of cool old legends that I would love to see that aren't necessarily the best commanders.

Yaaaaas Hal & Alena. They look exactly as I expected, and appropriately so.

I don't like that every mono color commander will have partner. But maybe there's some hope still for some powerful ones.

Coincidentally, a Shalai cosplayer is in the banner that shows up at 15 seconds in :p

Eminence on an Angel tribal commander is too good to happen :[ But if it did, would be cool if it gave all angels a Healing Salve etb effect or something. Not a card designer so idk if that would be too powerful. And could make her mono white but with a 5 mana activated ability a la Tazri.

I would add Shalai, Voice of Plenty as a good angel commander. She protec and feed the ladies.

You're confused as to why fans of one of the most popular creature types want to be able to play every angel possible past present and future? That's confusing. And not everyone plays competitively.

Anyway, FlossedBeaver beat me to the Morophon tip Laughing that actually is my angel tribal deck commander at the moment. With altered angelic art to satisfy my vorthos nerve.

I just want a Bant Asha card D:

Looks like Nahiri might have some black? Or is that lithomancy magic swirlies...

I'm sure Kiora will appear through flavor text or card art. (And The Wanderer lol)

Will be nice to see what all the non PW heroes are up to. Drana, Tazri, Jori-En.

  • posted a message on Wizards cuts ties with artist Terese Nielsen
Man, lots of people showing their true colors now. People against Wizards cutting their ties with her are either people who share the same harmful views that she apparently has, or simply aren't equipped with the emotional intelligence to scrutinize their faves, and subsequently can't handle their faves being scrutinized by anyone else and receiving consequences to match what has been discovered. It's a very childish POV that runs rampant in daily life.

They throw out words (in quotations, much like our current clown in office) that they give so much power to that it completely blocks them from having an actual discourse about actual problems. "cancel culture" "the extreme leftists" "outrage culture." No one even says those things lol, except for the people who say them as a blanket statement to cover up any capability for intelligent examination of the subjects at hand.

Most importantly, her PUBLIC views were ones that agreed with and supported anti-semitic, transphobic, and white supremacist rhetoric. The keyword here is public. Because that's what someone like her is, a leader who has influence. When that influence is used, directly or not, to spread harmful views, the absolute least her employer could do is to end their partnership. And yes, those views, (which no one is arguing that she cannot have, but of course that's what people want to cry about) are harmful. They endanger the lives of people across many different communities. Termination is what she deserves.

It's a no-brainer, (but that explains a lot about... nevermind) if the views and actions of an employee don't match those that the employer embraces and encourages, it's over. The same would happen if Thassa forbid, Wizards was pro-homophobia, pro-racist, pro-white supremacist. They would ax anyone who believes in equality.

It is extremely disappointing that this is the truth, she's my all-time favorite artist for MTG. I have piles of signed cards and art on my walls by her. And I've come to terms with the meaning that those items hold with me are not diminished by this. But I cannot further support her in any fashion until this truth is proven changed.

I applaud wizards for taking a stand against the dangerous rhetoric that she supported. Even now, there are people all over twitter and other social media who are defending the "right" to hate other communities or the "right" to treat others as second-class, who stand in solidarity with antisemitism. There are people defending Noah Bradley, perpetuating the culture of harrassment by men and men in power. It's cringeyyy. And they are OUTRAGED that she was fired, outraged Noah was fired, much like people here are outraged. Who exactly is "outrage culture" about again?

But thankfully, those people, and these people here, are the vocal minority. With every decision of wizards to take their worlds and game more progressive and inclusive, there are floods of support and love for them. Amidst that flood is the vocal minority who are stepping out of the stream to shout at the wind in defense of backwards and harmful views. And guess what direction Wizards and the game is still continuing in? And these hateful individuals continue to give their money to anyway? Wink

With just the name, I expected an angel with some sort of big executioner's sword and I'm disappointed.

While I agree with you, ejecutora means (female) executor, executioner in Spanish is verdugo/a, which should only be in black cards if you ask me.

White does have executions too. Usually to tapped creatures. The problem is this doesn’t kill anything

Well because she's an Executor, not an Executioner. (If the translation is correct).

I agree wasted name and art Frown
