Has a BFZ preview card been ruled out? Don't Zendikar angels have their eyes covered. (Though I know they lost their blinding halos after the first or second set...)

Random note, I forget the FTV foiling actually looks good on white and gold bordered cards. So that's a plus.
Meanwhile my Ink-Eyes and Visara look like garbage.

I like Guay's work. Her Angelic Renewal is my favorite Magic art. I do enjoy the current art direction though; I think the cohesion was needed. However, I don't mind seeing a different art medium used now and again. I like the digital artists, but they all start to blend in with each other if all the cards use that medium. I think if you're smart about the direction you can include works that use a "softer" medium like watercolor; which is my personal favorite and probably one of the hardest mediums to work with.

The problem is the people who do rage about digital art, do so to the entire medium. The issue they should be addressing is poor digital art. Which would most likely encompass the art that reads "CG" at a quick glance (which even then, is it even poor? or is it just repulsing to them because it's clearly digital?). Otherwise, there are a ton of digital artists who have been doing Magic art for a while, and a lot of new artists, who simply have done good things (Aleksi Briclot, Will Murai, Chase Stone, Karla Ortiz, Zack Stella, etc). Of course not everything is going to float everyone's boats, but I question whether or not the people who constantly fume about digital art even know who all the digital artists are. That said, I enjoy both traditional and digital artists who have graced this game, and enjoy the progression to more modern lines.

Serra Angel with the Rebecca Guay art is in. just saw it on instagram. Two great things, that art, and the fact Serra Angel didn't take the last new art slot.

Well a gameshop just called me to let me know I was randomly selected to preorder this at MSRP. Awesome.

    Congratulate! A winner is you!

Are you going to keep it, flip it, or break it up?

I'll probably hold onto it for a while, see what happens to prices. I already preordered one for $65 on ebay before this.
I may just tear into one and keep the other for the collection. Smile

I don't know about you, but I know a lot more filthy casuals who are excited about a set of foil angels than some dumb blow everything up cards.

Yeah. In the stores around my area, a lot more people seem to be aware of and interested in collecting FTV angels than any before.

White is around 25, red is around 50. Red is going to tank when this releases though, nonfoil is only 5. White won't stay up there for long either, as this is her fifth printing.

Now they just need to retcon Karona and print Akroma again in return to Dominaria. XD

    Iona again?
    Weird.
And that art looks like the original art from a different angle.

Oh well, I'm glad I can finally own a foil Avacyn that I will actually play!

Also guys- don't pay absurd prices for these.
Even FtV:20 was available for $60 eventually.

Yeah this is bothering me so much about the art lol. It's great that it's by Jason Chan again, and the art in a bubble is really nice. I just wish it was a dynamic pose. She's a giant angel ffs!

How much do people think that Iona is gonna end up costing? I want one for my gifts deck (which means I'll need a foil Elesh Norn/terrastadon too!)

That entirely depends on what is still in this product. If we assume that everything that is left is just filler crud... I would say we are looking at a $70.00 low end product just given the values of the current confirmed cards plus the fact that we have several good new arts.

If we get much of anything else good I think we can expect prices to be at $100.00 for this but it would surprise me if it really went beyond that. I sort of feel like its going to end up in the $80-$120 range just given how wizards has made these products in the past.

Idk, foil Avacyn right now is already $100. Her inclusion will beef this up for sure.

I think the chain veil naturally draws people to it through magic, like the ring in the Lord of the Rings series.

I sort of got the sense from this UR that maybe the Chain Veil is somehow connected to the Eldrazi. Was that just me?

I think maybe it'll be tied to the block after BFZ. This kinda set up Liliana's absence for BFZ.

Yeah the uh, comment about not being personable or able to attract a woman or man being tied to being a nerd is the reason people have that misconception and stereotype about nerdy people. Just harmful.

Being a shut-in and unpersonable are stated character traits of his though. They never come up in these stories though, because that would be a tangible flaw and we can't have Jace having actual flaws. Coffee & News

He literally has a portal so he can see who's coming and welcomed a guest, someone he's had history with, with an illusion... And to further reinforce why he's personable here... it's toward someone he was with romantically and still has feelings for, or at least remnants of feelings. Look, one can be a shut-in and socially awkward/divergent without it meaning they are complacent/unwilling or completely incapable of otherwise. That may not be something you or anyone here experiences personally, but there are plenty of examples of introverted people behaving like normal people (shock). Growth and stuff, you know. Development. Taking responsibility/action. Etc.
