I delcare an attack with Preeminent Captain and one other creature. Using the Captain's ability, I put into play a third attacker. Does that creature count towards the three creatures required for Windbrisk Heights activated ability?
Is the LCQ format really Standard? I could've sworn I read the word "Extended" on the PT Hollywood event page when I looked at it a little under a month ago...
I was thinking of dropping a Grip for another Sower in the side. Maindeck, I'm trying to fit Threads in, but between Force Spikes and Stifles, I can't decide what to drop since both have been pretty good. I also need some help on how to side against aggro decks like Doran, Affinity, Goblins, etc. Most of the people I test play against are either combo or control players so I don't have much of an idea on what to do against aggro.
What do you guys think about using Dark Confidant over Visions in PLU? Unless I played it on turn one or two, I really don't like waiting four turns to get my cards.
I played NLB at the PTQ down in LA/Garden Grove, which isn't actually "local" since it's over 350 miles away from me. I went 4-3-1.
I played mirror matches in rounds 1 (draw), 3 (2-0) and 7 (2-0). I forgot what round two was but I know I lost 0-2. Round 4 I won 2-1 against T&N. Round five and six I lost 0-2 against Death Cloud and RDW. Round 8 I won 2-1 against what I thought was RG Beats.
Should I drop the third Grip for another card? Just how useful is Global Ruin against Ideal? It's five mana and I haven't been paying that much attention to my land drops but I don't know how good it is at hitting a land drop for the first five turns. If the problem is Boseiju, what's wrong with Ghost Quarters?
And FYI, I've yet to get matched up against Ideal while playing online so I'm at a complete loss of how to play this matchup. Anyone got an Ideal deck on MTGO I can take a shot at?
