I went with kolaghan and lost first round. Decided to completely change colors to dromoka and won the rest of the matcha. (4-1) I got forth but wouldn've been 5-0 if had gone G/W from the get go.

I don't know if anyone's mentioned it yet since this thread is rather long but... R/G madness is truly now possible with this card! OMG

Flickering is the easy pick here, less color commitment for cost and ability.

I made a mistake and picked bloodfire infusion, overlooking the squee's embrace, please switch my vote to the embrace, it's definetly more playable than the other aura.

It's really a pick between the 2 good fatties, wurm and colony; and the good removal, smite. I think smite wins out here, I'm sure there'll be more fatties around later to pick from, though, this is a wacky draft. Grin

Also, you seem to forget that Cabal Ritual has a block ability called Threshold and therefore is actually LESS likely to be reprinted than Dark Ritual in a core set.

I don't understand why people think cards with block abilities will get printed in core sets. It really just boggles my mind.

Maybe not it core sets, but more likely in blocks since MaRo did mention at Pro Tour Austin that they will be bringing back one old block mechanic each block since Alara block.

It's seems more possible to me now that the Allied Fetches may be reprinted in the third set of Zendikar. Wizard has already said the third set in the block will be as big as the first set and will have basic lands like a first set in a block normally has. They also said it has something to do with what will happen in Zendikar; which leads me to believe something like what was done in the Lor/Sha block will happen. Maybe something will cause the colors to shift to different combinations and we may get alternate version of cards in the first set of this block.

Let me hear your thoughts. Discuss

From the few cards we've seen so far, there are two possible conclusions for [CENSORED] WITHOUT [CENSORED]

    1: Kicker without multicolor cost
    -or-
    2: Splice without Arcane

The second one is what i thought when i saw the Trap card. So their may be Splice onto Trap and other subtypes, or maybe the Splice mechanic wont have the "onto ____" part.

Your deck definitely needs 4x Skred, as well as Snow Lands ofc, and no Boros Recruits, they are very bad. Your turn 1 drops should be Mogg Fanatic, x4 ofc, and Knight of Sursi, most likely also x4. Your good with O-ring, definetly 3-4 of those, Fetters is redundant though, seeing as O-ring is a much better option, at best SB a few Fetters. Also your deck needs to be more controlling, run 2-3 Coalition Honor Guards, I myself prefer to run 3 since they just dominate most games so much, very important defensively too as your critters die to almost anything. The wisps seem like bad cards, I suggest you take them out and the Signets I don't see the need for them, your turn 2 is important for playing a critter, and to have it come out turn 3 is just awkward and slows u down, just run some Terramorphics and some Garrisons for ur fixing and your good. You'll need another burn/removal spell in the deck, maybe Firebolt, maybe Lightning Bolt, maybe both, see which one works best for you. And Lastly your SB, it needs Obsdian Acolytes, some COPs, some other kind of burn spell, Magma Spray maybe?, I dunno, something. That's all I can think of right now, gl w/the deck. Grin

You should try to squeeze in some Hell's Thunders and Volcanic Fallouts, maybe replace both of the 1 drop dudes with them. I'm not a real fan of the Jackal, seems to situational for your deck considering most of your creatures die fast, and the Tattermunge can't be pumped in your deck, so at best you trade with a token with it, and at worst in runs into a fat dude and dies, netting you nothing, not worth it IMO. Also, I think Stigma Lasher is worth considering for the SB. Anyway, there's my two cents for you. Wink

Brainstorm seems reasonable. Your black -3/-3 seems just like a poorer version of Lightning Bolt, though.

Instead, what about Black's use of life loss as your "3 matters" effect?

I don't see how -3/-3 to a creature for B is in any way weaker than Lightning Bolt. The standard for -3/-3 to a creature is 1B, and that card was solid and played, so to give -3/-3 for only B would be way above par, but I would like to see is a card that gave -2/-2 for B, but of course not in the proposed "1 mana do something in 3's cycle". The lose 3 life for B sounds reasonable, though a bit redundant since Lightning Bolt almost does the same thing even though lose of life is flavorfully black, but in the end it's 98% of the time as reliable Bolt to the dome, and I think every card in the theoretical cycle should do something unique amongst themselves. Honestly, I dont think Dark Ritual is out of the equation here, just as we didn't expect Bolt to come back we may get another surprise and see Dark Rit reprinted in M10, so who knows. Tongue

    Forging Lake 4WU
    Legendary Enchantment R
You may pay 12 rather than pay Forging Lake mana cost. If you do, Forging Lake comes into play with 12 forge counters.
    Affinity for counters on permanents
:symwu:, Remove two counters from a permanent you control: Choose one — Put a counter of any type on target permanent; or remove a counter from target permanent.
