Given that we've got Mesoamerican Colonialism going on, I think the Western set will probably whenever we return to Ixalan.
It seems pretty easy to get the core themes into magic, also. Gideon is working as local law enforcement in a sparsely populated rural region where multiple cultures mix. Some evil planeswalker rides through town and kills a couple of folks, off to... I don't know, steal magic cows or something. Gideon and company chase the evil walker(s). Three quarters of the plot is then grunting or dramatic drone-shots of people riding a horse through the country.
One hopes WOTC wouldn't blow the Mesoamerican setting by having it actually just be Phyrexia. And tbh we probably won't see Phyrexia or Elspeth's home until we do Return to Theros to get her back from Nyx. Plus we've been sinking significant time into Bolas; from a story perspective it doesn't work to do a 180 away and focus on the Phyrexians out of nowhere.
There's definitely a time theme already present; I agree that there might be a time theme on Gift. Something like Demonic Pact, but with a win rather than a loss?
but to be honest there has been a lot of hints suggesting that Chandra may have feelings for Nissa.
Not really? There's been a lot of hints that Nissa has feelings for Chandra; Chandra thus far has mostly been presented as "Gideon is Hot and Nissa is nice, what is this thing you humans call romance?"
edit: Having seen the original: "So friendship is the limit of what you're comfortable with right now" seems incredibly out of character for how Chandra normally talks. That's dialogue I'd expect from Jace or maybe Gideon; Chandra's never quite that formal or wordy.
Is CFB actually going to be able to set the prices? While this could be a sign of monopoly for CFB, it could also be a sign that Wizards is going to take a more direct role in future tournament stuff and basically squeeze everyone, including CFB eventually, out. Seems similar to what Blizzard did with a lot of tournaments back in the day.
I think Ravnica is next; probably for the gatewatch to lick their wounds for a while and Jace to deal with with whatever's gone horribly wrong in his absence. I doubt we'll see Dominaria before Lilliana kills all her Demons.
Theros and Elspeth I think are likely not to show up until we hear something from Phyrexia again, whether it's running into Koth on another plane or a Phyrexian invasion. As it is now, isn't the Gatewatch unaware of Phyrexia entirely? And Ajani thinks Elspeth is dead. So my guess is something will need to happen to get Ajani talking to Gideon, who mentions what happens with the dead in Theros, before that plotline goes anywhere.
No it is not, it just happens to be the plane where Conspiracy 1 and 2 took place.
That's like saying we could visit Ravnica without the guilds, though. The two are tied together from a design perspective, and we've already visited it twice.
Not unless Ouphes are on Amonkhet. Not exactly up there with Mummies and Sphinxes, you know?
But yeah, I think Wither is more likely than Infect. Yes, poison would work well with Winding Constrictor and mini-proliferate, but maybe too well.
Winding Constrictor only works on you and things you control, so it's not so much "working well" as "Well okay you've killed yourself for some reason. Good game, I guess."
I would guess it'll be a fusion of the two, tbh. Maro has before expressed a lot of doubt about "water world" having enough content for a block. Think less Pirates and more "Conquistadors" maybe? Group 'A' and 'B' are invading the mesoamerica-analogue region searching for something (gold, land, magic, ect), the Guildwatch shows up seeking something to defeat Bolas with (ancient artifact or spell), and the local cultures are resisting/cooperating to settle grudges.
Lets you get both the pirates/privateers stuff, as well as the more obvious Jungle-y themes, and a bunch of sunken/half sunken ruins too.

Sixth Sense is combat damage, Keen Sense is any damage.

Alternatively it'll start at Return to Ravnica as the start of the "Look now we revisit places constantly!" era.

IF they're allied colors, I would expect the UBR one to be missing, since those are Bolas's colors. Seems like he'd be filling the role of that God.
