I see a pretty decent Bant Clues decks beginning to form..
4 Theriban Inspector
3 Knight of the White Orchard
4 Sylvan Advocate
4 Tireless Tracker
1 Graf Mole
3 Gisela, the Broken Blade
1 Bruna, the Fading Light
2 Tamiyo, Field Researcher
2 Tamiyo's Journal
3 Oath of Nissa
2 Angelic Purge
3 Declaration in Stone
4 Dromoka's Command
24 Land
Would be a decent starting point.

snarlmkiv posted a message on R/G WerewolvesThis is my Werewolf deck. It utilizes Zada + Silverfur to trigger a lot of tokens.Posted in: Standard Archives
I took it to FNM last week and went against the following match-ups
BUG Control
GW Token
UG Investigate/Mill
First match - BUG CONTROL 2-1
Early on, i was able to drop Village Messenger and Recruiter on the first and second turn. He literally gave me free transformations as he didn't do anything for the first three turns. BY turn 3, I drew Silverfur and popped an expedite to produce a 2/2 token. Come late game, I had Zada and Silverfur with 3 wolves out and Arlinn. One Titan's Strength sent everything into overdrive.
GW Token - 1-2
This one was a close match. the only problem was Dromoka's Command as it removed my Howlpack Resurgence early so my creatures just died to the tokens. I had no answer to the tokens. Radiant Flame will be a possible sideboard.
UG Investigate/Mill - 2-0
This one was a one-sided match as I did so much damage for the first three turns. The first game, I dropped Village messenger for 1 damage. then turn 2, transformed, attacked and dropped Titan's strength for 5 damage. opponent down to 14HP. Turn three, I drew another Titan's strength and I dropped two of them on Village Messenger for 8 damage. At the end of the turn, i transformed. The game stalled for two turns but I managed to wither his life away.
Possible notes:
Arlinn is hit or miss, and may need some other planeswalker support like Nissa, Voice of Zendikar for the counters. Removals like Radiant Flame and Moonlight Hunt are going on the sideboard as well. Exquisite Firecraft for the reach...

Ayzheng88 posted a message on Bought 4 foil rares, came in non-foil from TCGplayerPosted in: Store Discussion
Vendor was SuperGamesInc.
I was pretty bummed out....spent almost 100 bucks and the cards came in non-foil. I just got back to magic and I'm not too familar with the procedure. Do these guys send me the correct cards or do I have to send them back and wait? -

ShadowFenril posted a message on Shadows Over Innistrad price speculationsAppreciate the opinions! I'm not really looking to make money, these are all just cards that I want, but want to get them as cheaply as possible. I panicked and got a few Arlinn Kords right before the weekend because I was afraid she'd make a big showing at the tournament and suddenly double in price like Avacyn did. Over the course of two days I've already lost $2 each on them. I'll make Abbey, Sorin and TiTI my main goals then.Posted in: Market Street Café -

I am quite confused. I am a sucker for "gambling" when it comes to MtG, but I can't figure out what this is. Thoughts?
So, a lot of sellers are offering "loot crates", basically a way for them to bundle unsold product together and move it. Typically, you get some packs, some sleeves, some dice, and some whatnot. Places like CFB or Derium will list exactly what's in your crate - the precise details will vary (like what kind of packs you get), but you'll know that you're getting N booster packs, Y prerelease packs, Z packs of sleeves, etc. This "loot crate" seems very loosey-goosey. They suggest that you'll get some awesome stuff (Commander deck + Duel Deck + stack of packs + sleeves + playmat for $50? Seems too good to be true = probably is), but it's likely that you'll get SOME of what they list. Without knowing what's in it (even if they tell you "a commander deck", which could vary from $20 to $150, you know you're likely in the $25-$35 range), it's hard to say whether it's a good deal. They do specify that you'll get a sealed booster box if you buy the $150 level, but who really wants a box of Dragon's Maze?
This is probably a good present for a Magic fan, but I wouldn't look at it as an investment. -

NotMyName posted a message on R/G WerewolvesOh right. A decklist is probably helpful.Posted in: Standard Archives
Obviously the deck is junk. I just threw it together to get a feel for things before I put more serious work into it. Overall I really enjoy the new bend on werewolves. Recruiter is MVP for sure. -

NotMyName posted a message on R/G WerewolvesEpic Confrontation worked like expected. Silverfur was strong, but both Hermit and Bandit underperformed. Hermit was especially weak. Heirloom was very strong. Resourgence was the strongest card in the deck. Games were won by grinding with Recruiter. Hunt worked like expected. Pacifist worked 90% of the time.Posted in: Standard Archives
Needs some work. -

Aether7 posted a message on The Standard Price Discussion ThreadPosted in: Market Street CaféQuote from jdm_s2k »avacyn and restoration angel...jesus...
Non-Angel clause buddy
I think the price also has to do with being a flip card. It is my theory the same thing happened with JVP. Players see that flip cards are much harder to reprint and Wizards/MaRo has even confirmed this. They need to do a special print process which costs extra.
I'm not sure Avacyn is exactly 4 of playable in standard and stretching across all formats but it is early days and it's obviously an instant casual hit. I'd expect $40-$50USD to be about the mark until the Pro Tour and from there it all depends on how many copies are in the top 8 as to what happens next. Most people that have her are probably holding or trying to cash in at the highest dollar value.
I want to know for sure if flip mythics are more or less rare than normal mythics. Seems to be plenty of specualtion about the exact numbers but nothing definitive. Would be happy to be directed to any information regarding this. -

Xover posted a message on R/G WerewolvesPosted in: Standard ArchivesQuote from OthelloColdstone »I was considering a slightly more midrange W/G version of werewolf tribal. Red just isn't as strong right now. White gives access to Dromoka's Command and Declaration in Stone for solid removal. I also was wanting a shell for Sigarda, Heron's Grace. I feel like Howlpack Resurgence is important for pushing through damage and giving you a way to skip a play on your turn for a flip. Also Silverfur Partisan to give will give you tokens when used with the command or just if they target your guys with removal.
I have actually been messing around with a green white list. Also with green White Eerie Interlude is dirty with silverfur on the field because it targets. So in response to a removal spell or after you opponent passes the turn you eeerie blink three wolves and you produce six more wolves you can mess up combat pretty bad. And remember Werewolves enter the battlefield as human so they trigger Thalia's Lietenant
Here was the list I was going to run with that
DeckMagic OnlineOCTGN2ApprenticeBuy These Cards Creatures (24)
4 Duskwatch Recruiter
4 Lambholt Pacifist
4 Hermit of the Knatterknolls
4 Silverfur Partisan
4 Hinterland Logger
4 Thalia's LietenantSpells (12)
4 Howlpack Resurgence
4 Dromoka's Command
4 Moonlight Hunt
Lands (24)
4 Canopy Vista
4 Fortified Village
16 Forest
