I don't think it was intentionally racist, but that's still the way it ended up looking. I attribute it more to New York Post stupidity than malicious intent. The whole thing has recieved more attention than it deserves.
An addendum: While Bush was depicted like a chimp in hundreds of comics, there was not a single one in which said chimp was shot to death by police officers.
By "sent" he meant March 3, when the package actually started going somewhere. It always takes a while for packages to be processed before they're sent (except in the case of priority mail or somesuch).
It's hardly the fault of the P2P system that people are less willing to pay for overpriced CDs. The record companies want legislation so that they can keep their prices up instead of adapting to the changing market.
It's definitely understandable that Amazon would pull it. They probably shouldn't have been selling it in the first place - I didn't think Amazon sold anything with pornographic content or similar.
Hey, I was in a similar boat to you, I rock on the verbal stuff, and don't do as well on the math.
The great thing about the ACT is that it is a composite score, meaning the math and verbal are combined. I ended up with a pretty good score on the ACT because my average math was totally carried by my high verbal.
I would still study, but taking the ACT is a good idea because it is an alternate representation of your academic ability. If you have both SAT and ACT, pick the one that makes you look the best.
Good luck!
EDIT: BTW, I took the SAT/ACT ten years ago so the situation may be different re: composite scores. Caveat emptor!
This is still true, though colleges can see your scores on each of the four sub-categories (writing, math, reading, science) so a low math score may still hurt.
It's fine to have a reason for your beliefs, but you can't let it get in the way of keeping your health care. So at least look at all the potential good arguments that people have posted and try and use more evidence, logic and explanations when making your point. You do not have to change your views at all, but at least make it so that the teachers don't have to understand or care about your personal situation for your argument to make sense to them.
The assumption that the reader will understand you is the worst assumption you can make. You need to make sure that there's no way any reader (within your target audience) can miss your point. Since your target audience is a group of feminist students who will be grading your papers, write them so that feminist students can understand them. This was a problem I had for a while (and still sometimes have in timed essays on tests), and it will hurt you badly if you do nothing to fix it.
I tailored the above advice to fit your situation, but from my experience it's good advice for persuasive writing in general.
How about a something where you win if you control 10 more permanents than your opponent? I don't see any immediate problems with it, and landsearch and token generators along with control elements could make it work...
Figure out where you want to go or what you want to do. It makes the whole process a lot easier, and allows you to focus on the actual applications. I would recommend figuring out the places you'll consider applying to during the summer before senior year (or earlier). Once you do that, find out what you need to do to apply to each college, since each college has their own standards and requirements.
As for tests, the SAT is important, and perhaps the ACT would be good as well, depending on where you would be applying. If you're applying to really high-end places, they might also want you to take some SAT II subject tests.
Also read somewhere that Christmas is a "borrowed" pagan holiday. Need to find a source for that which I will find later. And I don't think they literally just copied one of the pagan gods down and then everywhere you see Hermes, they put Jesus. It's more like they borrowed parts from here and there and put it together to show that Jesus was better than all of the other gods. However, this goes back to miraculous Jesus and not the historical Jesus.
The pagan holiday in question is Yule. I was under the impression that the reason it was borrowed was in order to convert pagans who didn't want to give up their awesome winter solstice celebrations. It didn't have anything to do with piecing together myths.

Apart from that, Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni is freaking amazing, if you want something a little more creepy. (Okay, scratch the "little.")

In fact, if it passes I might consider using it. $4000 each year would help a lot, considering that I want to avoid taking loans if at all possible.
