If I recall correctly, the kinetic energy isn't "created," it's converted from potential energy in that scenario.

If your biggest worry is that some of your money is going towards government services you might not benefit from, your life is pretty okay. The worries that would result from a total lack of government services are much larger by comparison.

The Senate can reject his choice, though. They don't usually do it, but this is a special case.

Yeah, Blagojevich was an idiot. I'm glad he's no longer going to be running my state. And now there's going to be accusations of him conspiring with Obama from FOX or something stupid like that.

A good book would be a great gift. Paperback books are really cheap for the amount of enjoyment that can be derived from them, so they're really cost-effective. A book can also be a personal gift since it gives you a chance to show how well you know her tastes.

To tie in with the numbers, you could go for a book with one of those numbers in the title, though that might limit your choices.

Heck, due to the sheer size of the universe it's quite possible that there's another person exactly like you out somewhere right now, and that there have been thousands or even millions of beings exactly like you in the past.

Bacontoday.com... I wonder whose life revolves around bacon so much that they made a website about it...

Ugh, Rahm Emmanuel as chief of staff. I love him, but now some corrupt idiot with no power will run my district.

Good thing I'll be away in college after this year so it won't matter much.

Well I just watched Ralph Nader call Obama an Uncle Tom on FOX News, classy.

Any chance of a youtube link? Sounds like fun times.

My local TV station just talked about all the local/state politicians who can benefit from their connections with Obama.

    Man, I love Chicago politics.

Plus, not all candidates can raise that much money. Even if McCain didn't take public funding he wouldn't have been able to raise as much as Obama did.

At this rate it looks like Obama even got Indiana, which is a great achievement.

There's no hope for hitting 60 in the Senate, but there wasn't really much hope for that anyway. They could get 57-58, though.

Why I feel that we're screwed:

    1. Democratic President (Obama)
    2. Democratic House of Representatives
    3. Checks and Balances? Nope.

Supreme Court much? (At least initially...)

EDIT: Looking at updated numbers, Obama has taken a tiny lead over McCain in Indiana with 94% of the precincts reporting. McCain has also taken a tiny lead in North Carolina.

EDIT2: CNN now has Obama at 297 electoral votes, which doesn't count states that are "still contested" - Florida, North Carolina, Indiana, Colorado) But DOES count California, Washington, Oregon and Hawaii based off of exit polls.
