    They really are losing their minds with this MSRP $449.99 price. The collectors boosters have standard only cards. It's like they learned nothing from Shards of Alara. When those were selling for $10 and no one wanted them. $31.90 for a collectors standard only booster is just dumb. There will be 4-5 desirable extended art cards and the rest will not be.
    Here is what they should have done. Regular booster booster box. Slide in a Collectors booster into every single one. Don't label it. Happy surprise when you get one. There is no way I would ever pay $250 for Midnight Clock (Extended Art), regular midnight clock is $0.65.
    Hard pass on any collector booster product.

    There isn't much downside to this. You play it on turn 4. You play your next spell for free. You're out of mana at that point anyway. So You just need to plan out what your turn 5 looks like. You have the equivalent of 10 mana on turn 5. There must be something that works really well with this and the adventure mechanic. You increase your decks spell density by playing double spells. Such as commands or planeswalkers that cost 5 Angrath, the Flame-Chained. You can even play the planes walkers deck spells Angrath's Fury to Angrath, Minotaur Pirate. 5 mana Cataclysmic Gearhulk . You could wrath, then play something. Cleansing Nova into Demanding Dragon. That seems funs.

    I missed that on turn 5 you actually have 5,5,5. For mana. There is probably something stupid good you could cast for free then kicker something for up to 5.

    There is power creep every set. It's not good for game design at that could reach a top level of creep. Then they would have to reset to a lower game play level. If you have played long enough we have reached top level power creep before in Urza's Destiny I think. Then Nemesis, Prophecy, Invasion block, Odyssey block, Onslaught block, so that's 3 years of lower level stuff. Then Mirrodin block came out and card design was over powered again. Then Champions of Kamigawa block came out and it was weak.

    They aren't making a balanced game anymore but they need to sell booster packs. They have been dividing the power creep into tribal categories. I can't think of what the last down swing set was? Shadows over Innistrad? I'm not sure if there was a down swing.

    All of the games power goes into creatures or planeswalkers these days. We all think fatal push was so great but they had to print it. Creature kill needed to cost 1. In the same way Bontu's Last Reckoning needed to be pushed to 3 mana because giving creatures -2-2 these days in black for 3 mana Infest tends to kill nothing.

    Wizards doesn't make a balanced game anymore. Creatures and planeswalkers have all of the power in the game. Anything else get's lazy design. It would be nice if there were better sorcery speed spells. They are always making something pushed. Some spells even have no draw back and are pushed these days. That 5/5 beast for 3. It can block, it just can't attack unless you have a 1/1. Lovestruck Beast. Since the anti-draw back is built into the card. there might as well be no draw back at all. The other red card Irencrag Feat Probably could have been better.It would have been nice to have
    Seething Song back. With the same limiting effect but at 1RR sorcery. It should have had a different effect if you were able to pay the 7 red. Unfortunately red according to wizards is only damage, chaos, or temporary permanent stealing these day. No land destruction. It could have been if you get to 7 red gain control of up to 7 permanents until end of turn, untap them, they gain haste until end of turn.

    As other posters have said, it's okay. I'm picturing playing against the current version of burn. It's easy enough to play around. Burn plays a lot more creatures these days. 12 creatures. It limits the sorcery burn spells only. So 12 card slots are limited. While I just play instants on my opponents turn.

    If I were to play control it would limit the back and forth. I could mana leak to some benefit. Problem is there are a large number of creature heavy decks that don't care about this effect. Humans and Merfolk aren't effected.

    I'd also rather not see very recent standard cards that are worthless re-printed. Sorcerous Spyglass $1.85. There is now a 4th Opt Artwork. I guess they expect Sorcerous Spyglass to see some play in the upcoming standard.

    Good card. There are a lot of good targets for this besides all of the swords. Behemoth Sledge,Sword of the Animist, Loxodon Warhammer, Godsend,Forebear's Blade, Sigiled Sword of Valeron,Sunforger,Quietus Spike,Slayer's Plate.

    Very modern playable with stone forge mystic. Utter End with Sunforger or Wrecking Ball. Advent of the WurmHeartwarming RedemptionRal's Outburst

    Once Upon a Time This will for sure see play. If you are playing green it's hard to pass up a potential turn 0 play. End of your opponents first turn cast the spell.

    I don't think playing a 6 mana enchantment is going to work in modern. Someone drawing 7 cards at a time does give a very limited number of spells left to play if they don't have a good board state. A normal game only goes till turn 5 or 6. So they drew about 13 cards to start. So they would have 6 spells left to play to try to win the game or draw into an answer.If you want to make a list and test it out sure. You'd be playing those cards instead of Teferi, Hero of Dominaria

    I did give it a bit more thought and if you want to jam in Dovescape. And some kind of repeatablespore frog effect then if could work.

    On the plus side the environment will be slightly better from the less plastic waste. Plastic won't degrade for 1000+ years. On the downside ordering sealed products online will be under a lot scrutiny. There will for sure be a lot of scamming. People already re-glue foil boosters. But it will be less obvious with paper boosters. If there is no plastic wrap on the outside of your box then that doubles the tamper and search possibility. That does already happen now with people re-sealing outside wrappers. No one is going to recycle the paper boosters though. I played during the paper booster test and all of the stores put it right in the garbage. Recycling takes a minimal effort.

    It's fundamentally easier to play mass land destruction spells then stone rains I used to play a deck I called Chandra boom. With the only source of land destruction being wild fire and boom//bust. You can get to 6 mana. The problem usually is do you have board control and can your wild fire kill everything if you don't? 5 toughness or higher creatures are common. Here is wild fire 2.0 but more expensive Destructive Force. Obliterate exists in modern. Generally anything above 6 mana is difficult to cast. Same reason people play blood moon to try to deny as much mana as possible from one spell. Force of vigor ruins that plan these days.

    Kadena’s Silencer counters only activated and triggered abilities already on the stack. It doesn’t prevent abilities from being activated or from triggering later in the turn, and it has no effect on static abilities.

    The Price of stoneforge Mystic is going to be erratic. There is going to be high demand for a month or two. $60 or more or the next 3 months. I do except a reprint to happen before 2019 ends which is why they unbanned it. arclight phoenix will probably drop to $10 at rotation. The deck didn't get that much worse. There are other slightly slower discard cards to use. Such as Insolent Neonate,Lightning Axe, cathartic reunion.

    Banning faithless looting was a bad call. There are tons of other ways to get cards into the graveyard. Some decks will be slightly slower. There is Cathartic Reunion being slightly slower. Izzet phonix does not care about this ban at all. They could play an alternate one drop kill spell such as Lightning Axe. There is for sure something to easily replace faithless looting. You will still need to keep your graveyard hate available for at least 4 spots in the sideboard. You might as well keep some form of main deck graveyard hate available. The graveyard decks are not going away.

    I'm fine with Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis ban.
    Stoneforge Mystic means they might be reprinting it soon. Throne of Eldraine October 4th soon.

    Besides this post below. I see the deck as an old standard deck that people just change a card here or there. The deck doesn't get better because nothing new is printed for land destruction. Pillage is just slightly better and affinity has fallen out of top tier. I like the use of some newer creatures in this list. I don't know if they will get you to tier one but any other new lists would be appreciated. Has anyone tested out Wrenn and Six? It's on color. It would work well is a lot of fetch lands. Or Field of Ruin. There have been a lot of new sets since I last looked into this. There must be new support cards.
    Just to give people examples and ideas. I've tried R/U with Baral, Chief of Compliance and Goblin Electromancer. I've also tried Spreading algae with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth. If you dig in gather there are other way to play a land destruction deck. There is also Aven Mindcensor with ghost quarter.

    More examples of new support cards.


    The main issue is that you need to get more value out of stone rain. You need to be able to flash it back Snapcaster Mage, cast it for cheaper or free.
