Ok, well I went way out of my way, and spent a lot of my own time setting this all up for you guys, but you can't seem play a single match of magic a week, so I'm done. After multiple people just quitting, not responding, and not taking initiative to get their matches done, I give up. If anyone wants to take over, I'll give them the passwords for this account, and the Challonge account.

Ok, So we're still waiting on guineapirate vs holiclol to finish up rd 2. Any word on what's going on with that match? It should have been finished 2 days ago now.

Speedbump, your pairing for rd 3 is up on Challonge; you're matched up against Tom, and you guys can go ahead and set that up whenever you want.

The code is relative to what cards are in the deck. The same 75, whether input on my computer, or yours, will always have the same code. You must have changed a card(s) from the original list if the code isn't matching anymore. You're gonna have to figure out what happened, and change it back. Unfortunately if you can't find out where you went wrong, and get your deck to have the same code as before, you will be unable to continue.

Things are moving along smoothly, but we still need matches from Matsi883 - LtGlitter and Hazzrd - Tom, hopefully before Monday.

I've updated the bracket in the link, so anyone who has pairings for rd2 up already can play their match. As soon as rd1 is complete i'll post an updated bracket here.

And the first Dark Tournament is officially underway. We have 16 top competitors ready to put it all the line in a battle to the death, for glory, and for gold. Ladies, and Gentleman, this here is history in the making. By the end of this tournament a champion will be crowned! Without further ado, here is the bracket..

Hazzrd, and Tom i have you "locked in" but neither of you sent me messages yet, and i'm not sure of your cockatrice names either.

I'm going to give Loooooooo and Graycross 1 more day, then i'm replacing them with someone from the Reserves who's already locked in, so i can get pairings up asap.

Basically, it's not just that it makes it "easier", it makes it more fair as well. Adding even just 1 more person adds an entire extra round, and the more extra people get added, the crazier the bracket starts too look; with a bunch of people ending up with byes, and others needing to win 5 rounds of single elimination matches to win, rather than 4. So i do apologize if you want to play but didn't sign up in time, but this time i'm not gonna do more than 16. I will put you on reserve though incase someone in the 16 drops out for any reason.


I want to put pairings up asap but all these people still haven't locked in their decks.

Ok so we have 16 players for the Tournament, with PhlyingJinxe, and holiclol as reserves in case someone drops. I was hoping to get the bracket up on the 1st but we still have ~12 people who have yet to lock in their deck codes.

While I do understand where you're coming from, I don't think you'll have to worry about that here. Hopefully everyone can, and will bring their best play to the tournaments.


For the UK players asking if it's ok to play; It's ok with me. As far as I know, there we're a few people with crazy time zones who took part in the Lantern IQs. All I can ask is that if you sign up, try to take it seriously, and put a good effort into finding a time to play. Once these things start, time can fly, so it's imperative to try and keep on schedule of 1 rd per week. If you think you can manage that, then you're good to go.


As far as Xmage is concerned, it's just not happening right now. More people have, and are familiar with Cockatrice currently. It's a more universal Client at this point, which means more acceptability for potential competitors. Maybe in the future we can try to host an Xmage Tournament, but until farther notice it will be Cockatrice.


Now we are at 15 players already. If we can hit 16 i'm gonna pull the plug on sign ups for the month. At least for month 1, if we get more popular next month we can go bigger, but 16 makes a perfect bracket, which is a little bit nicer for everyone. No one gets stuck with 5 rounds that way.

We have 11 competitors already. If we can muster up 5 more and hit 16, we'll have a perfect bracket. So let's shoot for that by the 31st. If we can manage that, i'll have the bracket up asap on the Feb 1st.
