Anyone noice a parallel between Ugin / Bolas and Yasova’s twin grandchildren? Both are twins, one of them is very into hunting (Bolas) and the other is more calm and shamanistic (Ugin).

Wooow!!! I didn’t noted that difference... I wonder if the human twins will suffer the same fate as the dragons twins

So were those hunters humans...I thought Elder Dragons were older then Humans....and they already have armored horses and domesticated dogs apparently.

And stone settlements or some kind of constructive methodology(i guess)(but with dogs that is kinda ok)

    Retcon everywere.

I don't mind Bolas being related to Ugin but that stuff plus an Elder Dragon even a young one going down so easily is just sad. Silly Retcons.

Perhaps they were elder humans brought into existence by the Ur-Human Smile

^ Eh, I took that more as they knew each other's names, not that they named each other. Being twins and all. I doubt they've got a Voldemort/Harry Potter shared fate type of situation (on top of that being totally lame).

They just, from a writing standpoint, didn't want to introduce them the way the other three were. "I am Nicol Bolas! And I .... need help getting out of this." "I am Ugin, yeah here I come." Wouldn't exactly have the same impact as the previously introduced dragons. :p

Perhaps that’s the reason why both of them could survive in spiritual forms (Nicol after the Madara incident and Ugin after his fight with him) perhaps that naming the name of one another link their destinies

I do wonder, if we get creature cards of the elder dragons, if Ugin will be colorless. I would bet on Jeskai colors myself.

Based on the Spirit Dragon's ultimate, I'm actually leaning towards Bant. Gain 7 life = white, Draw seven cards = Blue, Put up to seven permanent cards onto the battlefield = Green.

Bant might be possible, if Arcades Sabboth is left out.

I’m betting we will get all the previous Elder dragons and Ugin to be initially rival to Nicol he will be Jeskai, that’s my bet. Curiously in Tarkir the ones with the ghostfire mark were of the Jeskai Clan

Could it be possible that Niv-Mizzet is also a son of the Ur-Dragon? I wonder if Ugin in his quest of knowledge found the Ur-Dragon and that lead him to transcend his colors. What if Nicol is trying to become a being just like the Ur-Dragon? I love the story and that they are twins. I bet we will get cards for all the elder dragons in this core set

Could it be possible that the 5 Elder Dragons be from Tarkir? Judging by the playmat in which Nicol is, I’m starting to believe that they are all from Tarkir
Mark Rosewater states they were talking about the five original elder dragons. Those five, we know, are from Dominaria.

I thought that there was no oficial confirmation that Nicol was from Dominaria, wasn’t previously stated he was from Dominia? Just never found the official statement that the 5 elders (Bolas and bros) where from dominaria

What if Nicol Bolas wants to use the metaphysics of the plane of Ravnica to set up a law across the whole Multiverse where he is the one true ruler? This would mean to warp the core of ravnica as he did with amonkhet

Yes, Azor was on the wrong for leaving every plane where he created Law and Order (Dun dun). Joke aside, his view of the law as the only way to act blind him to see that mortals would always find a way to exploit it and bring chaos.

On Crucius I believe they know each other.... but it makes me wonder if Azor brought Sangrite to Esper why not bring order to Jund, Naya and Grixis? Perhaps he visited Alara before the rupture

I believe Jace did the right thing in punishing Azor. Yes, he never had bad intentions but if he where to regain his spark he was going to be going in his crusade of bringing Law to every plane. Some did benefit others not like Ixalan. And besides, if his help is needed Jace can planeswalk to Ixalan and order him to help him (after all is the Living Guildpact).

I guess that Ugin intentions for the Multiverse is the Balance, good and evil in perfect harmony, the law is order and therefore balance. I don’t believe that Ugin forgot Azor, but probably doesn’t have a way to bring back his spark (Venser and Karn transfer I am considering it an exception rather than the rule). Perhaps pre-mending he was capable of this, now he can’t .

Nicol Bolas endgame may be to try to cause a reverse Mending to become the ruler of the Multiverse. Or, he is trying to find a way to fight off the greatest threat to his Multiverse, Phyrexia. He knows this is a threat he can’t overlook, probably the Immortal Sun is a way to keep them sealed so they stop invading other planes (I am guessing the Phyrexians will use the method of overlaying a plane over other as a means to move).

It seems not all parts of the mothership have been retcon for Nissa, I found this when checking Sorin's Page on the section of Allies and Enemies:

    NISSA REVANE
Beautiful, proud, and ruthless, this nature mage believes elves are the rightful heirs of all planes of the Multiverse—and she’s determined to make it so

The only thing that I don't like about her retcon is the fact that her first planeswalker card no longer has a reason to exist. I hope they decide to answer this soon on the Comic-con.

Thanks for the answer. So it is an assumption that the Mending caused the Great Aurora to trigger before. Could it mean that Nissa is a Premending planeswalker? Since her first planeswalk is to Lorwyn and by the end of the books it seems that both Shadowmoor and Lorwyn cease to exist as separate planes

I have a question, where is stated that the mending cause the Great Aurora to trigger before time? Is it on the books or was it confirmed somewhere by the Creative Team?
