While you're thinking of ways to destroy Wizards of the Coast, here's the history of sacrifice-themed decks over the ages. -

SpiderClaus posted a message on Embodiment of Fury(not offical name)this is great in limited. stat to cost ratio is great plus trample. The ability is nice too although you have to be more careful with it than something like Akoum StonewakerPosted in: The Rumor Mill -

Goodking posted a message on [[SCD]] [BNG] Pain SeerAfter a bit of testing, this guy is better than I expected. He is a good early game threat alongside other aggro drops and the 2nd toughness is nice for a black two drop. I think he's inferior to Blood Scrivener (at least with our really low curve in black), but seeing as black is not very well endowed with two-drops, I like him enough to stick around. I don't think he'll draw quite a card a game on average, but there will be times you can stick equipment on him and profit, and he can trade with the average creature of his cost.Posted in: Cube Card and Archetype Discussion
6/10, makes the cut for now.
Also, Dark Confidant, Blood Scrivener and Pain Seer are now known as the Bobfecta around these parts. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Great article! Personally I am putting in the aggro 2 drops - seems to improve aggro a lot.
Luminarch Aspirant - frows your team slowly puts you always ahead in board presence
Kargan Intimidator - 2cc 4 power with evasion (granted, a mana sink, but still)
Skyclave Shade - can have a late game application
Bloodchief's Thirst best spot removal I think, plus I like that it edges out Blasphemous Act because I feel iffy about the mechanic. I want a simple spot removal on this slot and BA seems there are a lot of random corner cases.
I appreciate the theory around the lands you put in. I am iffy on the tap lands but Kazandu Mammoth is quite decent by itself. (trample would literally push this through).
May I ask the group, how are the MDFC testing so far? I imagine the red one to be a slam dunk but very unsure about the rest.

Slam dunks for synergies:
Armix, Filigree Thrasher an artifact, a golem, removal, scales with more artifacts, discard/GY synergy.
Toggo, Goblin Weaponsmith equipment, tokens, removal.
Ich-Tekik, Salvage Splicer Golem tribal, token, +1/+1 counters, stax or sac payoff.
Maybe:
Dargo, the Shipwrecker - I want my colored cards to be engines, rather than payoffs, but this quite decent. 3 mana off 2 treasures.
Phyrexian Triniform - I love tokens in my cube, but 9 mana may to too much. This will be the most expensive AC in my cube if I ever include this.
Just missed:
Armored Skyhunter may whiff, so worse than direct tutors like Stoneforge Mystic or Stonehewer Giant
Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist Really like Puresteel Paladin more
Rebbec, Architect of Ascension less reliable than Leonin Abunas or Idomitable Archangel. I don't think I need a 3rd.
Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator payoff is too low, but maybe if Treasure becomes a thing.
Glacian, Powerstone Engineer 6 Mana - deal breaker for these stats.
Keskit, the Flesh Sculptor - Lose a lot of board presence for card parity seems weak.

boosters, Spellbook and Commander Green. They really churn a lot of product nowadays.

Surprised Heartfire Immolator is so low. I’ll test him over Harsh Mentor. Though honestly I will not play cube this year at all.
While I only get top 1 or 3 normally, I read through the top 20, quite interesting to see what larger cubes use.
Thanks again for the article! I have said this before, this is the cherry on top of each spoiler season for me!

Seems to be a Thriving Cycle

1) the best Chandra
2) 3 cube (pimp) cards
3) 4 Storm spells
Odd that there is no burn spell bit its fine.
Decent value but will probably just get singles for my mono red storm once the prices drop.

At 450, Top 2 are pretty much slam dunks, but I am pretty much worrried how Lutri can be too consistent, and feel bad that it cheats basic deck construction rules in the cube context. Lurrus is a fair companion and a good maindeck.
I’m kind of fond of Vivien because of the CA she brings to the table. That static ability is always on and it feels you are doing 2 abilities every turn. Can’t wait to play it with Oracle of Mul Daya and watch opponents get overwhwlmed by sheer board presence. So green! That said, I have no clear replacement yet so I will be holding this back. I love the alt art, though!
Im considering Mothra, Heartless Act and the Triomes as well.
I was wondering why you ranked Fiend artisan so low. Is it because Golgari is stacked? How about if we treat it as a mono Black/green card?
I’m eyeing Zirda for my artifact cube because it works well with Equipment as well as mana combos.
