I feel that trapmakers snare is generally superior to twincast, as it lets you cast a trap from your deck, not just when you're already casting one.
Otherwise, I think you're on the right track.
Although you can twincast things like counters to counter that and even twincast removal. Trapmakers snare may thin your deck and be a way effectively draw into more archive traps. Twincast can be a lot more versatile while being able to turn effectively a lava axe into a searing wind.
It does change the deck a bit, yes. Slows the game down a bit with soul's and allows for mill to win more commonly. Unfortunately I'm coming back to the issues I had with pure mill where I'm diluting the deck with other stuff that I need to win at a comfortable pace. I'm sure I'll put the Wight's back for this Friday and go with my original lists ideas. Drown in Sorrow is a lot worse now without Wight's.
I'm wondering if Wight will prove to be hit or miss in this new meta. With AV and SotM unbanned there will undoubtedly be a surge of control decks around. If sitting across from creatureless decks becomes common ground again then the decks going the need quite a change.
I'd argue that in a new meta with more control, mesmeric orb becomes much much better
I agree. One time while using mesmeric orb against a control deck just one milled 30 cards. Game 2 he tried not to let it resolve because he realized how much damage it does against control decks.
Question, if i use KCommand targeting THopter foundry and bounce a snapcaster from GY, and opponent sacs itself to create a token, does the KCommand get countered?
It does not get countered. One of the targets is still legal as the graveyard bounce still targets a card in your graveyard.
6 mana is a whole lot and the tokens enter the battlefield tapped. So I'm not so sure.
I agree that the 6 mana can be alot but I have not had an issue with mana as much as needed that one or two more turns to empty the other deck. The blockers could be nice to delay death. Also, the tokens do not come into play tapped so they can block right away.
They do come in tapped as the Japanese text says "kuriichaa tooken o tappu" just like the Japanese Diregraph Ghoul says with the same kanji afterwards (well excpet it says diregraf no guuru wa tappu, can't find a good enough resolution to read the hiragana above the kanji for the name).
any thoughts about Rise From the Tides from SOI. With all the instants and sorceries in the deck, this seems like a way to protect yourself from creatures.

The Persistent Nightmare card from SOI seems like a sweet addition to this archetype.
IMHO that card is a bit slow. It would be better to snap a glimpse back. 6 mana for 20 milled in 1 or 2 turns rather than 13 mana for 26 milled in 2 or 3 turns and that's assuming they don't have a blocker with power less than or equal to 1 or they have exile or even destroy effect. Exile would stop it in its tracks for recursion and destroy would make you have to pay 5 more mana. It's a very flavorful card but I can't see myself using it for more than at most a 1 of.
In my opinion Snapcaster Mage and Mesmeric Orb would help the control tutelage mill. For one it mills faster than just the tutelage and the orb fuels up Snappy.
True. Testing my deck out on Tappedout with the Augurs instead of the Mesmeric Orbs it really helps with the consistency and it blocks a goyf so I survive one more turn yay. Since I'm also running Snapcasters that's another creature to block stuff. 2/3rds of my creatures I'm just using for the ETB effects so It's perfectly fine if hey get destroyed.

Stony Silence/Damping Matrix
You could also Bazaar Trader a Chief of the Foundry for silly disabling.
Mesmeric orb doesn't target so it gets past leyline of sanctity. Also if you have snapcasters it fuels them as well.
