Cut sleight of hand, ancestral is better in,control. That gives you 8 slots to work with that normally would have been snapcasters. There's really no replacement for Snap's, even during my budget days I'd proxy at least 3. I ran a list closer to control with Kalitas but he's not real worth it if budget is a concern. 17 lands is a mono, you'll want at least 18-20.
I've been playing around with tossing a 1 of either P&K or Kalitas as a 4 drop silver bullet and while they're not extremely hard to cast they can prove problematic. I see that being much worse with Cryptic needing 3 blue.
I like TITI for it's inevitably. People need to remove it asap (But you could say the same for delver itself) against decks with no removal or only bolts it's great. But young pyro probably fulfills the same roll better.
I was just considering Maggot but decided not to for the same reasons. Ultimately I'm shelving Sculler for now, the mana requirement is a pain and I only played 2 copies. There's a reason the Taxes version plays vials. I'm going back to trying Matter Reshaper, I figure between TKS, Inquisition/TS, and Collective Brutality we have enough hand disruption.
I love scourge ( it feels great to discard it to collective brutality and exile with relic) but I would never take out souls for it. It's the main reason to play black and white.
My mana is similar but I'm not a fan of 4 bloodstained mires just because blue is more essential. I decided to gamble with a couple of sulfur falls. But I play a lot of burn so most options that avoid the extra self hurt help.
It sounds like you'd be split between the processing and token strategy and not bringing out the full potential of either strategy. Most processor builds play Sorin because he's back breaking life gain when paired with TKS, Reality Smashers and Blight Herder + Tokens. And TKS is such a good card that I feel if you're not playing it there's no point in playing processors at all. A potential turn two TKS is one of the reasons this deck and the D&T version are as good as they are.
Luckily, if you're that undecided it's not really an investment to pick up the major processor pieces and experiment with them anyway.
Experimenting with Bedlam. I was inspired by Tyler Black's list from a few months ago but kept it in Boros Colors. I got rid of many of the cantrips in favor of more burn, but this might be incorrect, I get the feeling it would fold easily to Leyline. Also decided experiment with Myth Realized which has been fair. The Eidolons from the original list are probably the correct move, and I'll replace the Myths and Reckoners with them. Reckoner's in it...just because I have soft spot for him, doesn't really add to the strategy but helps wall off bigger creatures.
Belam itself is cool but I can see why the standard burn deck doesn't play it. He's slow to come out, luckily the high burn count means that it comes out at a decent rate and most aren't prepared for a burn deck with a creature that passes the bolt test. Even if it dies the refill effect is the most powerful aspect of it. It sucks to see more than one in your hand though.
Most people aren't fans of eternal scourge. I'm still an advocate for it but I wouldn't play 4 of them. In the end of the day it's a cool creature that never stays dead but it's still a vanilla beater.
