Question: people say certain cards people consider "good" are too slow for standard, what if Dragons Maze, M14, and the entire next block continues these "slow" card trends... Will standard be broken because all the cards require games to go beyond turn 6?
I'd like that, and hopefully put in fun older cards that haven't seen standard in a while (not even modern legal) ala recoil and Goblin Legionnaire (shush, I like him lol)
*cough* Gideon escaped zendikar to get away fron the Eldrazi, maybe one of them followed him and Niv-Mizzet created a giant maze to slow them down after the goblin king kidnapped emrakuls baby brother whom he was meant to be babysitting?
Doesn't he have an Eldrazi spore in him waiting to burst out his chest and steal his spark?
If they can't figure out how to do that, do what others do and create new decks and evolve the meta. I get the feeling that in competitive play, 10% of the players create new decks while the other 90% copy the 10% deck lists.
It does interact with Evoke in a weird way as well. Say you Evoke Shriekmaw. You won't kill anything, but Shriekmaw also won't have to be sacrificed. A 3/2 with fear for 1B is still pretty damn good. Big discount on Ingot Chewer and Cloudthresher as well.
ps: I may build this, hope you don't mind. Mine may be a more modern though..

I just noticed that to and was going to post.
I was wondering if he'd show up!
This card is great. Keep saying it sucks so it won't go up in price, please.
I personally find unblockables easier to deal with. It's the hexproof buggers that grind my gears.
And it really won't impact that much, IMO. I'll just throw this onto a battalion deck for the second ability.
How hard can it be?
Is this true?
