Oh wow, biggest occlusion in his list is shambling vents. Ive had some rotten luck with it lately, Id love to hear why he left it out. I agree with the point on 2 spells kites. Id probably cut the 4th strangler for it. I still think 4/4/4 on the processors can't possibly be correct. Can I say again how much I love crucible and 4 GC? Beautiful decision. It literally wins the game for you sometimes. We can operate completely off of 3 lands ourselves, and we end up getting their lands that we destroy. Ive been playing GC really ineffectively it seems. GC, Crack relic, Sower. Ill be looking for that often in the future.

The spell is the thing doing the targeting, no matter who is actually picking.

I guess its a little confusing considering most people think of hex proof as "Your opponent can't target this creature." But technically, hex proof is "This permanent can’t be the target of spells or abilities your opponents control." Slightly different wording, but it clears up why Magus doesn't work.

Hex proof says that effects your opponent own can't target your creature. It doesn't matter who chooses the target, hexproof makes the creature an illegal target.

Does magus say target? Yes. So it doesn't work on Bogles. Gerry T played a Tribute on camera vs affinity. Seems like actually a good option to bring in vs bogles and zoo.

Well, its nothing special. Seems tuned though. Super glad to see someone who put in the reps and brought their tuned list. Note, Lili is just about our only reasonable out to Bogles and the likes. And have I or have I not been talking up crucible? haha

Mono B is trying to have every land they play worth effectively 2 mana. Obviously, Temple taps for 2, Eye reduces cost by 2, and Urborg (With Eye in play) nets you 2 mana. So their gameplan is to cast a sower on T3. Thats their explosive play. In Bx, our splash color lands will NEVER tap for 2. Therefor, most of our powerful draws require our splash color early meaning we can only hope for 5 mana on T3. Thus, there isn't as huge an incentive to jam a bunch of lands that are terrible late game for that T3 consistency. We aren't looking for 6 mana on T3, so we aren't looking to jam 12 lands that all net 2. That said, Lili is a great card. Either in Mono B where she is easy to cast, or in BW where she can pitch a souls. My only qualm is that she seems to make good matchups better and not do much in bad matchups.

Agreed on that, kruphix. Any idea when lists will be posted? Im curious how much tuning he did or if it is stock from the MTGO lists.

Jund and Abzan aren't even performing well right now. At all. I actually think they could do with a small buff. Bloom winning at a mull to 5 and no land T1 on camera is a pretty big testament to its absurdity. Its not that the deck is too consistent, its that you just can't interact.

Crucible is just way better. If you don't have Sacred Ground in your opening hand, you're ****ed. You can land a crucible turn 6 and get insane value off of it. Crucible also allows you to reuse ghost quarters which is huge game vs tron. Sacred Ground just isn't good. It also doesn't stop crumble to dust which is the red destruction card of choice in most decks.

The point of sculler is that if you process the card, they never get it back. So I don't actually like either of the options you listed. The upside to sculler is that it becomes a 2 mana sin collector or a castigate on a body in most situations.

Your sculler list seems like a much more controlling version. I kinda dig it as an alternative to trying to play Blue for delay. Like Ive said many times, we are the proactive deck, so instead of "Leave up mana, delay, process" We can "Sculler, process" without the downside of having to play at instant speed. I might try it out. You running 2 or 3?

Because "Mono" is a misnomer. Colorless is basically a color in the deck.

Could someone kindly explain to me what the advantage of mono B is compared to any dual color combo like BW? Path and Lingering Souls seem so worth it, as well as the BW lifelink land.

Well, like any 2 color deck, you get consistency. On mono B, you have effectively 12 lands that all give you 2 mana. Eye, Temple, and Urborg (with an eye in play). When you're on a splash, your splash color lands will never tap for more than 1 mana which can cause inconsistencies. In the mono version, you are also afforded many more enabling artifacts. These reusable effects turn on blight herder more often. On BW, I have lately been struggling to cast Herder with 2 cards to process.

Its not running blight herder because it is running heartless summoning and its all in on casting Ulamog ASAP as evident by the 4x conduit. There is a very good deck in modern already that does that job way better and frequently wins tournaments. If your goal in modern is to drop Ulamog consistently early, then you should be playing tron. I have no problem with trying out new ideas for the deck, but if you want a hammer, don't pick up a screwdriver and start pounding a nail with it. Go buy a hammer.
