My friend just bought 2 packs and we got pretty lucky with our pulls. His was Rav, Dis, 8th. Rav and 8th didnt give him much but he pulled a Hallowed Fountain out of the Dissension pack. Mine was Planeshift, Future Sight and TSP. Best I got was Ancestral Vision, Pact of Negation, and Delay which isnt half bad. We each easily got our money worth with those and the foil Jayas.
The reason for the slivers was double-fold. One was the obvious early game synergy with sinew slivers, and how I DESPERATELY needed early drops to help me survive. Second is the convoke for the angel; the more creatures I had the faster I got her out. While these arent great reaons, they did serve their purpose.
This is that fast draft that went along with the first pick thread I just did. For this draft I ended up going for green and black. I hate drafted a few awesome bomb rares along the way and in the end decided to have fun with it and use those bomb colors, almost totally dropping black. I ended up with a 3 color splash black abomination that actually didnt lose a single game in the 8-4 queue. I split the final for prizes.
I admit, it is probably just luck that the deck ended out the way it did, and I should have built it different, but it was a ton of fun. Especially since I won each game with one of the bombs. Any opinions on a serious deck are fine or just comments in general. No need to poke fun at the draft tho, as I know I made mistakes because it was hard for me to get everything right at 6 sec speed.
Stormbind is such a great card, difficult to remove, repeated removal. The only thing it has against it is that it forces you into 2 colors early.
I personally like Kavu over Jaya simply because Jaya dies to basically all removal, and the Kavu can generally take out 2 creatures, and is good against your opponent's removal.
Thats probably the order Id place them in. I was really curious to see what you guys would think as the people in the MTG drafting lounge had the exact opposite order when i asked.
So I decide to try one of the new fast drafts where you have to pick within 6 seconds. So obviously I have to open a totally insane pack giving me an hard first choice.
Looking at the rare/timeshifted slot I have-
Jaya Ballard, Task Mage
Stormbind
then I look over to see
Firemaw Kavu
I end up taking Stormbind seeing as its hard to remove for opponents and has a huge impact, also that red will likely be taken since Im passing Jaya and the Kavu. So I can try going for green with a splash of red. Do you guys think it was the right call? Also sorry for not remembering what the rest of the pack was, with those picks I didnt look at the rest to hard.

If you can get mana to work like that you are my hero. I just dont see your deck doing anything but screwing you over. Anyhow I see the best build as GW because of creatures and then either splashing red or black for removal. Though black isnt a bad option for a main color, just lacking in solid creatures.
Starting Bid- $375
Buyout- $450
Min bid increase- $5
Shipping is not included in these numbers.
