Hell anyone who plays EDH at a large Pro event sees this happen all the time. Turn four kills in EDH... TURN FOUR.
Maybe i should start playing EDH then... my biggest gripe is those insanely long games where you end up falling asleep before you manage to go a turn cycle because everyone has 15 different triggers and activations...
If its not casual, call a judge, get a ruling, and abide by it. Just don't get mad if the judge sides against you.
Or if its a "larger" event (one with more than one judge), and you feel the judge might be wrong, appeal - its a good way to get peace of mind to have the HJ assure you that it is right.
If you dont have the client you cant login anyway...
And if its because you are selling the account - dont forget that that is against the EULA, and it is probably alot better idea to just transfer the cards over...
affording something is for most people a question of prioritys
I have seen people driving a porche "not being able to afford going out to this fance restaurant" and i have seen a poor college student playing vintage with all Beta Power.
Yes 2.000 dollars is alot of money to spent on a hobby, but if you really think about most people (in first world country) does own 2.000 worth of assets - you might have to prioritize magic over a car, or a smaller appartment - but honestly its all a matter of prioritys
Some people want to make magic a zero sum game (aka only spent what they win) and some people buy a boosterbox + a handfull of singles every week even if they make the same kind of money...
Imo, toploaders are for storage, and sleeves are for playing - and i would *Never* allow anyone to play in any tournament of which i am the HJ with toploaders on their deck - i dont care if you are playing Beta power and summer magic duals - your opponent is allowed to shuffle your deck (at Comp+ he is infact required to) and with toploaders that is not something that is easily done
So in short if you have a problem with your opponent shuffling your deck (in a variety of riffle and mash shuffles) you probably shouldnt be playing those cards in a tournament in the first place...
Also, if you chose to play with double sleeves, for gods sake bring exstra's i recently had a player who made a big fuss because his sleeves was marked, so he had to change them, but the store didnt sell his particular brand of "overcoat" sleeves, so he made a big fuzz about not wanting to damage his cards, and that i couldnt exspect him to play with regular single sleeves... in the end he was given the option between changing his sleeves and dropping - he chose the later...
I have been selling tix, but im having a hard time keeping them in stock, im already selling above a dollar (1,02 USD per) and still i managed to sell 1.500 in less than a day
Honestly, if you can find anyone selling them for 0,95 - buy as many as they have...
I don't like this at all. The first set of a block gets opened the most, so it makes sense to have it be the largest. If they were all the same, you'd have mythics from the last two sets become more expensive.
Not if you also use his idea of drafting the last 3 sets, as opposed to a block, then every set should be opened the same...
I'm surprised MTGO exists, aren't there free online alternatives?
Not really, even if MTGO is a horrid abomination of an UI, Workstation and Cockatrice are infinetly worse... Players dont know the rules, there is no rule enforcement, and there is no point in winning... in MTGO you can atleast win some boosters, and if you are good and lucky a invite to a PT
I tried workstation, i got tired of argueing all my plays, and explaining to people why they couldnt "counter" my activated abilities with a tapper...
All this talk about safes seems a bit overkill, if you where to have a safe that would fit all those binders it would have to be pretty huge, and take up ALOT of space...
Wouldnt a safety grading - you know the ones that roll down to block the windows. they are probably cheaper than a full blown floorsafe, and doesnt take up valuable floorspace...
Is that why starcity and channelfireball had her at 49.99 the day she was spoiled for preorder?
It's weird that all the other mythics didn't start that high, don't ya think?
I agree buyers buying make prices retarded, but new 'walkers are the only cards that I see START that high and work their way down only when people stop buying, not the other way around like you suggest.
That is exactly how it should be... if CFB and SCG can sell even one single Lilliana @ 49,99 they should - someone wanted it bad enough to pay that price... then as the people willing to pay top dollar to get theirs first becomes fewer AND supply rises the price slowly dwindles untill it settles at a lower amount...
Infact: Prices starting high and then going down is proof that the market forces are working...
One of my larger issues is that the DCI judge decided to continue allowing people to enter the tournament and not turn folks away. I understand that judges don't have to know fire safety codes and such, but i feel it was a reckless decision.
States *should* be an open event, the judge did the right thing to allow everyone to enter - if then the space issue was a concern they should have "fixed" it in another way...
- Sent 50 players and a judge to Mcdonalds
- Run round 1 as Single elimination in 2 parts (aka table 1-30 plays first 31-60 once round 1 part 1 is over)
- Offer people incentives to drop
- If possible see if you can find another venue with so short notice
Neither of those options are "optimal" but all of them seems better to me than capping registration for a State Championship @ 60 players

(19 USD to enter with enough store credit for first and second to play again for free, assuming they split - as they often do)
There are only 4 Fridays in October... 7,14,21 & 28th
