Good point on Blood Moon. Will get an Island back in. And yes, Echoing Truth would be better as well, thank you.
Played another friendly 4 Game Ones vs. Jund yesterday for some practice. Went 1-3 in those Game ones. The matchup just is bad Game one with my all in list. Oddly enough the one win was off an Ulamog cheat out after getting stuck with Emrakul in hand and no Faithless Lootings. And yes Mass Hysteria can backfire easily. Sitting at 11 life with just a 4/5 Goyf on board. Bolt to 8, Goyf #2 now both at 5/6, attack for 10, lights out. I will need more testing and for now it may be the first cards boarded out after every game one.
so are you missing faithless looting? I think mass hysteria is nice but the multi card combo may not work, too many pieces to put together.
Haha I know this won't work, but funny would it be if we were able to fling emrakul lol
I wouldn't go with Mass Hysteria, you can probably use Quicken to combo off on the opponent's end step to be able to untap and attack right away.
I don't really like either of these options but Quicken is a cantrip in the worst case unlike Mass Hysteria which can either do nothing or help your opponent granting haste to his creatures.
Just curious, if you play quicken, it won't really help just because with the turn 2 ideal, we won't have the mana and until turn 3. I don't think the card quicken works with this ideal. Mass hysteria is probably the best option, and our goal is to pay it down turn 1 or 2, then emrakul for the win.
So i had the pleasure of playing against the deck tonight and I keep on wondering can we not splash white for arbiter. I ended up 2-0 the deck but I am playing a little janky deck that seems to wreck shop lately, but back to my question. I am not interested in the running a death and taxes deck but I feel like this deck wants to play control turns 1-3 then turn the gas on. I just feel like arbiter allows you to exploit GQ, and slow your opponent down and we don't have any search cards. A turn 1 arbiter or turn 1 chalice pretty much slows down any deck and the combo decks really struggles with arbiter.I mean even if there was room thalia it be salty. I mean turn 1 chalice followed by arbiter is game over for any deck or even turn 1 arbiter/thalia and turn 2 thalia/arbiter shuts down a deck. Those cards help against our rough matchups, tron, combo decks, really any deck that fetches hardcore. Just an idea, plus a little white could help in the sideboard like rest in peace, blessed alliance, stony silence.
Alright I have done some playtesting tonight, my only loss was to a shotgun elemental deck and basically out raced the annihilator and out creature me. So here are my thoughst on the 3 color variations that I have tested, UR is a more consistent of turn 3 emrakul with the Khanli garden, plus I am still a fan of looting because filters the deck but see beyond was okay. Jeskai colors, it seemed slower and we don't run enough instant spells to care raise the alarm is instant. If we ran more counters or something, but I always wanted to tap out at 2 get my creatures or draw cards. White does offer better sideboard cards, I will say that. I also played a grixis variant tonight, I don't know if it was the best list of cards but it was just as slow as jeskai but it seemed more stable by playing bitter blossom and drawing into hand control like inquisition and collective brutality. This deck is basically a U/R deck with a splash of white or black. Right now, if we are splashing a 3rd color and I am leaning towards black.
just curious, if we play with khlani garden, are there any other green cards that would help us out?
Decks I played tonight
U/R: mono black 2-0 and ponza 2-0
jeskai: humans 2-0, elemental 1-2
grixis: colorless eldrazi stompy 2-0, naya zoo 2-0
If we run black, we could add more protection to protect the combo by adding a little hand removal plus there are other discard outlets. I can see cutting a few copies of the ritual spell.
I went Grixis because of that. I think that beeing able to protect your gameplan is better than going all in for the combo.
How are those colors going? The people on here are leaning towards the jeskai colors
Without Faithless Looting in the deck I can probably even add 2x Rest in Peace to the SB without it exiling my Eldrazi if I discard them (since I won't discard).
Maybe Stony Silence can be replaced since I already have 2x Wear // Tear for artifacts.
The deck looks pretty good, I'll have to test it out. Now that we aren't using faithless looting, would you want to run Emrakul, the promise end now?

I think faithless looting is a must if you get stuck with a creature in your hand. I can see cutting it down a spot or two since we are playing izzet charm. I totally forgot about the promise end, I think ulamog is a better choice. Have you played the deck yet?
Very similar to your version with slight changes and the White splash.
Not sure what needs to be in the SB, needs some testing with the deck to find out it's main weaknesses (maybe Blood Moon can be a good option).
I rather run emrakul, the promises end just because it has protection from cards like path to exile, and other instant spells. Also the khalni garden has been huge so far, majority of the time I morph that. I think manland could be good, I think blinkmoth nexus would be better because it can fly over, but if we put blightsteel colossus in the deck, inkmoth nexus may better due to the infect.
Yes a second copy of either Emrakul or another Biggie may be warranted. I think I am going to 4 Spawning Breath due to their instant speed. I will probably cut 1 KC and 1 DF to do so. Reason being casting a sorcery on your turn for 2 tokens (turn 2 many times) and then being tapped out and at the mercy of your opponents removal can be rough. Hold that 2 mana turn two and cast Spawning Breath on your opponents end step and you may be able to kill a 1 toughness mana dork, Bob or some other weenie AND get a token which won't be able to be removed due to opponent being tapped out. Then turn 3, drop a land, cast a ritual and sac the token to cast Creativity or Polymorph.
I think you are correct on wanting artifact destruction in the 15. Ancient Grudge sounds good. Some counter will be needed as well as some bounce in the board as well. Another 1 or 2 Biggies will be needed to side in as well to throw your opponent off what you may be casting.
One of my concerns now is Serum Visions. If you draw Emmy with one copy in the deck and you don't have a Looting or Izzet Charm available it is probably lights out. Geier Reach Sanitarium or Desolate Lighthouse just doesn't feel right. Again a second Emmy or maybe another Titan could be warranted. I'm tempted to drop the Island and run an extra copy of Emmy or maybe Ulamog too. I will try to get up a sideboard list soon. Thanks for the feedback.
Alright so I tinkered with the deck a little more and I went 3-0 and never lost a game, played janky mono black, bant eldrazi and affinity. On the affinity game I turn 2 emrakul, the miracle happened. This is sideboard I started with and I pretty much just side boarded in counters in ancient grudge just in case. This deck is so consistent and so much, Worldspine worm is alright but I think I rather look else for another big creature. Its hard to figure out what to side in since you don't want to ruin the combo consistency.
Still way glass cannon. Works greats turn 3 or 4 many a game, misses some pieces others. The tokens really are critical to have to combo off. Spawning Breath is a nice upgrade. Sideboard is still up in the air but it will need some blue bounce for sure and maybe some counter. Also needs a way to get a bigger token than a 1/1. Koth may be in the side as well as Devastating Summons. Side 15 needs some other big baddies as well. Another Emrakul and new Emrakul, maybe Griselbrand, Worldspine Wurm, Platinum Emperion or Elesh Norn. Will keep tinkering.
So I played a few games with your deck list last night, it pretty much wrecked shop on turn 3 and 4. Given I didn't play any tier 1 decks but I played 5 matches and pretty much 2-0 every game. I did try out koth instead of the spawning breath card but he really never factored in because I couldn't really protect him. The deck is fun to play, sideboard is pretty iffy.I do know we need to run artifact destruction due to grafdigger's cage shutting the combo down, so ancient grudge will be needed. May be worth running brightsteel colossus md, just to have another win con if emrakul is taken out of our hand. I know adding 3 colors is a pain and may slow things down but I still think it helps out if black is added, collective brutality can turn a game around, also helps with a creature card in hand and a little hand disruption can protect the combo too. It something to think about at least.
I like the emrakul concept, but what if we went the route of destroying artifacts to bring back more artifacts into play. For example the aether revolt set came out with the implement artifacts, when they are put in the graveyard you draw a card,or add myr retriever to bring something back an artifact back to your hand. I am just saying maybe there is another way to add advantage to our hand besides just looking at getting a emrakul our soon as possible?
I know 3 colors aren't ideal but the card blisterpod, would that speed things up or if green is added, then wood nissa, voice of zendikar? Sorry I have been out of town this weekend but I am glad this deck idea is getting some playtesting.
yeah I think jeskai is probably the best colors to work with, I just felt black added better ways to control the board till you can get what you need to combo out and better ways to get emarakul out of your hand like collective brutality. jeskai ascendancy could help with a another win condition is needed and there is room, maybe run two of them.
I think xenagos is just too cute, I think we just need one emarakul and then token generators
Haha I know this won't work, but funny would it be if we were able to fling emrakul lol
