Well, Izzet phoenix is overperforming. Just too good. UR spells was nothing without phoenix 8 months ago. Dredge was a shady mediocre T2.5 deck without Creeping Chill. Looting was not a problem card. The problem are the busted cards they print sometimes, that make unfair decks too damn powerfull. But oh well, let's go with the Looting ban and hit like 5 other archetipes of decks. If we follow the logic of the KCI ban, what has to go is the Chill and the Phoenix. The banning paranoia and the insuficient answears in the format are tiresome in Modern, I hope for better cards in Modern Horizons instead of again banning cards. I slightly prefer Legacy because of stability over modern.

With modern horizons comming, I hope we have some answers for the looting decks (that just got busted with ravnica, before there was no problem) instead of a ban. If they ban the looting, which was not a problem card before, we loose not just dredge and phoenix, but hollow one, griselbrand shoal and almost every grave strategy. And Twin, the problem was the auto win on turn 4, the phoenixes can be deal with. I hope for at least Containment Priest and Flusterstorm upcoming. i just want a format with good anwers and no banning paranoia every 3 months or so. I just love legacy for that. Stability and resources, and no banning paranoia.

So, it is looting getting banned? or the bans will come after modern horizons? if the ban is done, does neonate repolaces looting?

Instead of banning cards, I support some unbans. And also, with Modern Horizons comming, I think any ban should be put on hold, and see the effect of the new cards.

Right now we have a very diverse format with a lot of very powerful decks. I have to agree that we lack GBx midrange options, and also stron counter magic to police the format but we're not legacy. If you go to Golfish or MTGtop8 you see a lot of options and no option is more thant 6% in goldfish and 8% in top8 of the metagame. As it has been for the past year, I see no need for a ban. We've been clear off of banning cards since 2017 if I'm no wrong, and we should keep it that way.

Just some notes on the lists we are seeing more now:

    - The Primer recommends 13-15 Dredge cards, however most lists have cut down to 10-12 to make room for Creeping Chill. Also, Dakmor Salvage seems to have fallen out of favor - however I think it's still pretty important.

    - Shriekhorn has replaced Insolent Neonate in most lists that I've seen. The reasoning being that without Troll anymore, the explosiveness of Neonate has faded.

    - Life from the Loam, in my opinion, is a core card and should be a 4 of now. It works so well with Conflagrate and closing out games, especially with Creeping Chill.

    Just my thoughts and observations.

Thanks for your time updating the thread!

True, so I'm thinking about cutting from 3 to 2 and add a Ghost Quarter for the Side maybe?

My side right now is the next one: 3 Thoughtseize, 3 Nature's Claim, 3 Ancient Grudge, 2 Trophy, 2 Darkblast, 2 Lightning Axe. Is it woth to cut the Thoughtseize for Leylines?

In addition to the points above, Spell Pierce / Swan Song are also our best answers to an on-curve Blood Moon or Damping sphere, since you can stop it ever hitting the table.

Sounds fair, so Swan Song or Pierce are the way to go? Or is it prudent to take them out?

I see spell pierce as a constant in every sideboard, but I've never played it. Maybe because it's light in control decks here. What games does it comes in?

So, as the finisher, is it better Driven to Despair, Scourge Devil or Rally the Peasants right now?

If Lantern is so easy to play, then why do most pro's writing their articles go out of their way to say it's one of the hardest decks to play in the format?

A ton of decks aren't hard to play

Affinity, Lantern, Shadow decks> Most of modern> Burn, Tron, Eldrazi Tron, Titanshift

Some decks are in that awkward hard to medium sweet spot, like Taxes, Company, Jeskai, etc.

When you break down the way you described Lantern winning then you make it sound like every deck can be that easy.

Were do you put Dredge in the list?

Burning Inquiry is not a good card. Its a very much a circle discussion on this guy. It always seems like cool tech, people try it, it blows out some games for them, they thing its amazing, then slowly but surely cut all copies due to being insanely inconstant.

    Don't run it.

Totally agree. Tried it when the GGT was still in the format and was too ustable. I runed today a last chance and well, loosed in the semis to Storm...again...

So, do we have a good answear against Eldrazi Tron?

Can you stop being childish both of you and keep the tread on the content it is meant for.

That sounds logic. I got trashed by a CoCo that went infinite mana on turn 3 in a game. I'll be cutting the Khanli Heart for Lightning Bolts and test it out. Thanks.
