I might be ignorant and burn me all the way to the moon for all I care but I find both TheFerrets article and yours to be condesending to all new recent arrivals to the game which happen to want to play the game and decieded to actually learn the stack and the combat damage trickery which the game holds. As for the people leaving due to the complications of combat thats just not true, the mayority of people dont even get to the finnese of the stack before deciding that the game has too many rules which dont follow within their brains, I have seen more people leave the game because their unability to untap, do upkeeps effect and then draw rather than just combining all of them into one single action. Does that mean that now we are going to eliminate that too? Not only that, you are all arguing as thought only the old die hard player were not willing to take this changes, thats not true, as a matter of fact now that my group has seen the new rules you can only conclude that amassing huge token armies is the only way to ensure that combat works on your favor, all pumps, boomerangs and blinks rendered useless as far as we are concern as having to use those pumps only make your creature be a larger target and in general tapping out is simply not an option within our group as some deck pack about 16 removal spells (we are a creature heavy meta so to speak) thus any combat trick which justified all pumps, sac effects creatures and the like have lost and so have they. The best example is Mogg fanatic which you can all say he now fits a new role, thats not true, he now sucks in most if not all roles because he basicly becomes a worse version of shock that you can make it vulnerable by putting it on the field. Not only that, now in any particular case the benefit of combat doesnt recided upon the attacker but rather the defender, double blocking is basicly the only moment for "battle tricks", if you can still call them that, to occur in a reactive basis. This removal of the stackability of damage thus greatly hampers the very reason we play this game, the creature heavy decks which were a little more than just bashing two creatures together till they were dead but rather cheap yet tuned machines which hinged on our ability to outsmart the other player mid-combat (as a battle would be) rather than who has the bigger knife.
Some will argue that i make no sense, true my english is poor and my spellcheck worse, so if you can understand or if not well I at least attempted at something coherent.

    Quote from Galspanic
I tried him in a combo version of the deck that held back for a few turns, blew a ton of elves onto the board and then Firespouted them all. It worked pretty well, but I got run out of town here when I suggested it. I don't think it is as solid as other options, but it is interesting to play. And when you mill someone with a Gb deck it's hysterical.

I must say I am interested, would you happen to have a decklist for the idea? Working from scratch is a but time consuming so it would be nice ifyou could post thelist.

I have to wonder people why no one uses the creakwood liege if after all it powers up all tokens the deck produces and produces by itselt 3/3 tokens, is the fear of burn that great?

Wait a minute, just wanting to be sure I understand and my knowledge of the rules is not wrong.
    Would sculpting steel+Hegemon= infinite loop?
    Somethign along the lines of:
1.) Play the hegemon with a sculpting steel in the graveyard. Target the steel with the hegemon.
2.) Steel comes into play as a copy of the hegemon, teh legendary rule kicks in and both are sent to the graveyard.
3.) The trigger of the steel activates and returns the hegemon.
    4.) REfer to step one.

or go super disruption like swans, that normally works with all decks, unless their deck is compose of counters and kills and therefore you might have some problems getting all of them if you take your time.

I am having some troubles with such a low land count and the fact your whole deck is based upon a very fragile creature-based mana prodcution to get the gilder, helix and others to get the job done.
My first suggestion would be to add braid of fire which has shown to be insane with the gilder and helix out on the game, its also happens to be a nice way to charge your lands as you wait.

Well this is my sideboard that I use right now, I believe its quite effective in today standard but of course I do normally use wacky sideboards which normally scare other people.
2x Pithing needle: If you read a couple of post back you will notice how good this card is, I also have couple running around our group so I had to use them somewhere.
4x Krosan Grip: This card however is your get out of jail card, it deals with the mirror, BB, needle, both hosing enchantments, lotus blooms and a large array of other cards which could become obnoxious.
4x imp's mischief: This card is excellent against control decks, if they get a draw spell change directions, probably even more fun is to use it on a permission war.
3x Pact of negation: No need to explain I believe
2x Damnation: I debated about if we should use Firespout or this, I decied for this as this can kill bigger creatures and prevent regeneration, classic power Vs. Speed kind of deal.

The deck seems solid, I dont know if you want to be running 2 combos which do not have interchangeable pieces in the same deck, however this deck manage to "work" and its look ok in paper.
I do have to ask, how effective has the magus been against fae?

Again bringing back the comparison to heartbeat, that deck didnt just scoop to the needle, even more, it dealt with by destroying it. Now krosan grip makes this be a fool proof experiment, it ceartainly still suck to be subjected to the needle but the grip makes it be manageable in addition of being a great way to deal with bitterblossom and other problematic artifacts or enchantments.
Do I dismiss the needle? Heaveans no, its basicly is our bane of existance, but can you play around it? Yes you can, is a matter of playing smart, not to difficult to do in this deck because that the only way you can win.

WEll, considering the complexity of the deck (the heartbeat combo comes to mind) I doubt it will be grabbed by every single player possible, its simply too difficult to play correctly on one sitting thus if it does take off it going to be after a long while of people getting the deck and tweaking it to their own likes.

Good point, if GWT is playing a deck chances are its going to do well. However even Wafo-Tapa must see that he cant hope to win a tournament if his deck wasnt trully competitive, there of we can assume that the deck can be competitive but it doesnt not appear to be the hottest choice right now in the meta.

I would believe you would proceed to play another dragon, tarox is the main hopeful due to its haste, remember the dragonstorm of old, that didnt really stop it. If you trully still worry about them do something simple, add mutavaults and kill him with those.

Thieving Sprite? No bitterblossom? No Blackguard? Good, you could have ended with a rogue deck.
Now seriously, you got a solid built here, I never really like one of in any deck, if they are needed then you add more, if not you simply eliminate them or put them in the sideboard.
Why isnt raven crime here? Its constant discard and its used up those uneeded lands.
