I havnt played it or seen it but whats nihiri doing that worth it? With a deck with this much depth and diversity in its threats whats it let the deck do thats worth it?
Green get abrupt decay and goyf, white gets path and possibly some life gain like sorin, red is another consideration for bolt.
Its hard to say if its worth it though, a 3rd colour really makes the mana worse especially for this deck where its loosing life to bitterblossom, also there are already 4-5 colourless lands so reliability takes a drastic dip trying to play 3. Have to weigh in your own experiences if adding a third colour for a little better removal is better than just sticking to black and playing some doom blades.
haha yeah, just wait it out, i don't think there is really any doubt eldrazi will cease to exist in its current oppressive nature if at all after the beginning of april.
I've already picked up 2 but I'm might try to get a 3rd or 4th as well, but there is a small chance they take ancestral vision off the ban list, if they do its probably safe the card will be hard to find and expensive, worst case if april comes and goes with no change i can trade the card back I'm for a relatively small loss. But if it does come off, with the little testing I've done with it, it seems like a solid inclusion in our deck that wants to play the longer control/disruption game.
deck looks good @arianrhod, i know you mentioned you haven't been playing it al that much but have you found the 3rd colour overly painful on the life total? my biggest question mark is the faerie conclave, it seems like it doesn't go far enough especially in a 3 colour deck, if on playing tap lands id think at least a creeping tar pit would be an upgrade.
Two questions, why not victim of night over doom blade or GFTT, as a two colour deck it should be okay to cast, and secondly if ancestral vision came off the ban list would it be enough do you think to change faeries spot in the meta game and if so how many copies would you play in the deck?
But that's basically true for every deck in the meta, everything is in a worse spot than before eldrazi were a thing, I think playing lightning bolts might help things, at least with picking off early mimics and helping voice trade up
Is there any argument to have a thune/spike combo over the resto/Kiki? I think we all know the benefits of Kiki but resto gets us:
More life gain
Can run up to 4 copies of thune
Easier casting
Thunes good at any time
Can pump the team of little guys
I've never felt red added a whole lot (just Kiki and pia and I even play bolts so we could go a different 3rd color
Can win the game outside of the combat step (infinite life)
Downside are spike feeder is unimpressive (i.e. Terrible)
Spike feeder doesn't flash in like resto
Resto is a great card with other pieces in the deck (but nothing to say we still can't play resto)
It might just be perception and possibly time to learn how to play against the deck, but if you go over to the eldrazi threads, there are more than a few people asking how eldrazi can beat kiki. They find our deck to have way to much value. Granted its a fast deck, but eldrazi sometimes does nothing, most lists play between 12-15 creatures, the rest of the deck is discard and enablers. One or two paths can really slow them
SlowLNF mind doing a little write up on your opinion of the new Nissa there? wheres she good? wheres she bad, i think its interesting but there are several walkers that almost do a similar thing. Xenegos and elspeth both spit out tokens albeit they are not green tokens to chord with and they are 4 mana walkers. what abilities do you find most useful with her?
sure, the lack of cantrip would be missed, although it does replace itself at 7 mana, although yes it could be a win more. But how often does a turn 1 relic not have target (honest question i haven't played enough of the deck) pyxis at least has a target every turn from the get go
