Stalling is rude. If winning means that much to you, you should probably buy a better deck. No shame in buying into something you really enjoy and spend a lot of time on, even if its just digital.
I rarely ever win a game in modern when taking a double mulligan. Very much looking forward to this new mulligan rule being implemented.
Why are people worried about vintage? This could be a huge advantage to fair decks in modern. Right now the best decks to overcome a mulligan are ancient stirrings decks.
People are really underestimating how bad it feels to put cards on the bottom of your library. Mulliganing to 5 still equates to getting hit by a free mind rot effect. This isn't going to put combo over the top.
Anyone else find lightning helix to be clunky? Lots of situations with 3 lands, a young pyromancer and a helix in hand. Feels bad. But burn is already a bad matchup.
A Kalitas out of the sideboard looks good, was thinking of adding one myself. I think you need more molten rains in the sideboard unless your meta doesn't have much big mana stuff. Didn't like the Selfeisek lists and prefer the GALL lists a lot more. Nahiri is very good though. I'm still unhappy with the manabase in all of these decklists though.
Are there any rules for a "perfect" manabase. I'm running 17 red sources, 15 black sources, and 11 white sources. I want to fit a godless shrine somewhere in the manabase. I don't wan't to trim the red too much because of revelers double red cost
Trimmed the 7th discard spell and a lightning helix for a night's whisperer and a liliana of the last hope and the deck is much better now, decklist feels really tight now. Highly recommend double planeswalkers and dreadbore has been great too. Might move dreadbore up to 2. Night and day difference.
I thought I posted this in the ban/unban thread but oh well.
No for reals, I do find it annoying. It didn't boost fair grindy decks that much and only helped titanshift and ponza. It's a nice addition to traditional zoo builds but that's it.
Skullclamp could be okay-ish if there was no dredge or affinity. Still annoying, much like mental misstep.
I guess stoneforge and twin are okay to come in the format.
Still not a huge fan of the bloodbraid elf unban. just a personal preference though.
maybe something will happen with kci.
Faulty manabases also share a lot of the blame. The best lands are stuff like dimir aquaduct, which naturally pushes people into blue/black. Putrid leach and quasali pridemage should be seeing more play but they need untapped dual lands at common.
Gush and the cantrips probably should go. Inside out combo would be a side-casualty though. The ninja card in u/r delver would be a distant third for a ban target too.

Unless you like the way we did it where the lottery cards were a bit more random, where you opened one in every 500 packs or so.
