Hey guys I was wondering if this was a common problem. After opening my mm17 boxes it was clear the cards were less vibrant and had abit of a washout appearance, especially if you compare side by side with an old print version (mm13 goyf for eg is more green and vibrant compared to the mm17 version)
Is this due to a change in printing or just a bad batch?
On the colour I know what you mean. I compared my mm17 goyf and Liliana to my MM13 and Innistrad ones and the colour looks washed out. There is defiantly a lack of vibrancy which is a shame.
Same here: With both boxes the first pack was a Misty Rainforest and also a double verdant Cata, double Domri, Angel, cage, Sphinx, Ranger, Past in flames, Goblin Guide, Gifts, Venser etc. Similar story with the uncommons and commons really.
I know right. I got spoilt on the foil mythics since I pulled an Foil Olivia and Linvala from 3 mm17 boxes on Friday. Ironically for the MM17 boxes my normal mythics were terrible but this one decided to step up to the plate haha!
Yeah like a post pulls thread. Yeah I payed $300 AU for each box ($900 total) and with all my value added up I had a return value of $1050AU. Thankyou Linvala haha!
Hi guys I just opened 3 boxes of mm17 and out of 10 mythics I got 3 Domri, 2 Past in flames, 1 Bonefire, 1 Olivia, 2 Spynix and 1 Goyf (thankgod!). Luck was on my side though because the foils were legendary. Foil Olivia and Linvala, Spell Pierce, Arid Mesa, IOK the top dogs. All in all broke even and then some so thankyou foil gods haha!
How about Eternal Failures. A collection of the worst and most painfully mediocre cards from magic's history. Chimney imp at mythic! Sorrow's Path at rare! Alt-art storm crow!
Featuring full-text basic lands!
Hi guys I've always wondered why it seems Mtg is a mainly male dominant game and that there aren't more girls involved? I and one other girl are the only women at my local Game store and though we are treated just like another part of the group it does sadden me we women are so scarce when Mtg is such a fun and enjoyable game and hobby. Granted a lot of girls I know aren't near as nerdy as I haha but still it would be nice to get more involved to even out the playing field abit more.
What are your experiences guys? Do you wish more women would get into mtg? What do you think could be done to help draw more in?
Hi guys I've always wished mtg did more full art cards as I find them absolutely gorgeous and was wondering would you like wotc to do masterpiece type cards as full arts with text in front (like previous promo full arts) or do you prefer them stay as they are?
Hi guys I'm curious what do foil cards mean to you and why do you love to have them? Do you like them to bling out your decks or simple love collecting them because of the beautiful foil arts? Any other reasons? I personally love them to collect because the foil effect in certain arts just look amazing and it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling looking through my foil collection folio. Sometimes for commander I also like to give my deck a little bling especially for a commander as there's just something special about having your commander in shiny foil.
Hi guys I'm just brainstorming ideas for fun on Modern/Eternal masters sets and liked to know what idea's everyone could bring to the table.
First off I doubt it would be viable financially but a Masters All star set would be really fun. Think a boosted size Masters (20-25 Mythics/60-80 rares/100 Uncommons/120 Commons) that include the best cards from all three previous Modernmasters sets in one.
Another is a Master Colour set featuring only cards of a certain colour. It would be a smaller set (10M/35R/60U/80C) since there would be 8 for each type (W/U/B/R/G/Multi/Colourless/land). Also the sets include special lottery cards like master pieces and expeditions you have a change of pulling a chosen 25 cards from the set (mainly Mythics and Value rares) as foil full Arts.
What about you guys? This is purely for fun so let your imagination run wild!
I feel Magic has the most collectability, in between all the different promos, Masterpeices, complete sets, special sets and what not
True still I think it mainly comes down to personal preference. For someone who grew up with Mtg since the beginning the cards would hold a more special place in their hearts just as it would if you grew up with Pokémon at the beginning. Though the issue with some mtg cards being so high priced is that it can sometimes bar me from wanting to use them (Even double sleeved) for fear of causing damage. For example if I had a legacy deck I'd feel really uncomfortable using Dual lands since they are such prized cards.
I kinda do have a special place for Older Pokemon as I grew up with it, traded my Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh into magic. I just hate the way they took the frame and how powerful they made even basic Pokemon. Plus I just hate the new Pokemon. Looking back, Yu-gi-oh got old fast
Yeah classic power creep sadly. I love full arts and ex cards they they are gorgeous! Yeah yugioh definitely got old pretty quick for me. The new Pokémon I still love because a lot have great design and thought gone into them. Depends again on your tastes. My fav generation is a tie between 1 and 5 and a lot of my faves hail from 5th gen. Hydreigon, Zoroark, Darmanitan, Volcarona, Cofagrigus, Genesect, Serperior etc. 3rd gen love Mawile, Absol and Rayquaza, 6th gen Diance, Sylveon and Xerneas are gorgeous! And the list goes on haha!
Is this due to a change in printing or just a bad batch?
9talete9: Haha sure thing.
I recorded it if you want to see it for yourself and my reactions.
