I feel this is a lot less clunky and Bitterblossom gives you a nice clock at a low mana cost. I cut Reveler completely as the amount of Instants/Sorceries is too low in my opinion to continue running him.
The lifeloss of Bitterblossom can be easily handeled with Brutalities, Kaya and Helix.
There is still some Graveyard synergy but not as much as before, making it more resilient in this time of Leylines.
The one offs are mainly for testing right now, i am not set on any of those. Albeit the Kaya looks insanely strong and i really want to give her a try.
With Scale Up i am quite convinced that Infect will be a really strong deck again.
What are the opinions on what to cut? A friend of mine who plays infect says he intends to cut the Baubles and maybe another Groundswell to fit a 4th Blossoming Defense.
I only have experience playing against infect, never actually played the deck myself. My rough draft would look like this:
Also what is the argument against playing Botanical Sanctum? It fixes all colors and deals no damage? I can only imagine that it is about deck thinning and trying to prevent flooding out?
Kaya's Guile looks like a bomb sideboard card though.
It slices, it dices and even when GY exile would be too late you still get a creature and some life out of the deal. It seems deece.
Sacrificing is also nothing to laugh about. Hexproof is a thing.
Does anybody know why there are lists playing Torpor Orb in the wishboard?
It makes sense against the soon to come Thopter-Sword combo but right now i can only think of Humans and their ETB triggers which seems... really narrow to use a SB slot for.
There's already a discussion going on in the Tron reddit.
I think the card has potential.
Everyone else seems to disagree because it does not impact the board and you can spend your turn by playing a haymaker rather than this.
Anyhow i will give it a try as a 1 or 2-of in my sideboard.
I have been away from Tron for a while now (Switched to Jund and more interactive decks) but in preparation for some MCM Trials and MCM Series Frankfurt i intend to brush the dust off my Karns and give them another spin.
I am aware of the 61 cards maindeck but i think that All is Dust is worth the extra card.
Other than that, has some new tech appeared? I see a lot of lists running Surgicals but i have never really been sold on them in Tron. Are they really a big upgrade?
I have tried Burning Inquiry and found it to be ok at best.
The missing flashback is a huge deal when you dredge it (losing consistency) and the random discard does not always discard your dredgers. Basically once you start dredging Burning Inquiry is a dead card in your deck.
I played Jund for the first time in a "big" tournament last sunday.
I went 3-4 but had a blast playing the deck. The most disappointing card was BBE. Boarded some of her out pretty much every game. Here is the list i ran, i copied a lot from the most recent Reid Duke video:
Boarded in Huntmaster pretty much all games, Kalitas was also great. Languish did some work for me against Merfolk (Master of Waves) and Spirits. EE felt good against Spirits aswell when they have 2x Drogskool Captain.
I tried Hazoret in Mardu Pyro and i found it to simply be way too Slow/Clunky. It still looks good in my mind but in action she just did not do anything
I just finished thoroughly reading the primer and i noticed that i am running 3 K-Command instead of the "fixed" 2. So i could cut 1 K-Command, go down to 6 3-Drops which would work better with 24 lands and cut one Thoughtseize. So i have 2 new slots. I can imagine running one Brutality and maybe something spicy like 1 Tarfire? I am really excited about all the options in this deck!
About the 3 Surgicals: I just feel like they are really that good at the moment. I played 3 in Mardu Pyromancer and it gives game against Dredge, KCI and Phoenix decks. In Jund, combined with Fulminators, i feel like they are also good against Tron. I mainly play(ed) Tron and atleast that was always my view on it.
About Brutalities: Yeah. I know. I would love to play some but i just found nothing to cut to make room for them. Hearing that 6 Discard is the standard i will probably cut one and jam in a Brutality. Would you cut an Inquisition or a Thoughtseize? I am leaning towards Thoughtseize as it feels like the worse hit off a BBE?
I am currently putting together Jund as my next Modern deck. I am not new to the format and have plenty of experience with other archetypes but i am somewhat new to midrange. The problem i have is that there seems to be a lot of variation for the mana bases and card choices in general.
I have seen lists running 4 Raging Ravine, others only run 2. Some run Twilight Mire, some do not. Is there a general consens on when and why to play X of any land?
It felt clunky and slow.
Maybe this is too much brewing and too much of a Mardu Tokens strategy but what about this?
4 Marsh Flats
1 Arid Mesa
4 Blackcleave Cliffs
2 Blood Crypt
1 Godless Shrine
1 Sacred Foundry
1 Plains
2 Swamp
1 Mountain
2 Collective Brutality
4 Inquisition of Kozilek
2 Thoughtseize
2 Smiting Helix
4 Faithless Looting
1 Unearth
2 Fatal Push
1 Terminate
4 Lightning Bolt
2 Kolaghan's Command
1 Kaya's Guile
1 Zealous Persecution
4 Young Pyromancer
4 Seasoned Pyromancer

4 Misty Rainforest
2 Breeding Pool
1 Dryad Arbor
4 Inkmoth Nexus
2 Pendelhaven
2 Forest
4 Blighted Agent
4 Noble Hierarch
4 Scale Up
4 Mutagenic Growth
2 Become Immense
4 Blossoming Defense
4 Might of old Krose
3 Groundswell
4 Vines of Vastwood
2 Spell Pierce
2 Distortion Strike
Not sure about the sideboard yet.

Eggs are a huge part of our Engine and Trinisphere hurts that a lot...

Right now this is the list i am tinkering with:
1 Ghost Quarter
1 Sanctum of Ugin
1 Scavenger Ground
4 Fores
2 Ulamog, the ceaseless hunger
3 Wurmcoil Engine
4 Walking Ballista
4 Expedition map
3 Oblivion Stone
3 Relic of Progenitus

4 Sylvan Scrying
1 All is Dust
3 Nature's Claim
3 Thought-Knot Seer
3 Thragtusk
1 Grafdigger's Cage
1 Crucible of Worlds
2 Warping Wail
I am aware of the 61 cards maindeck but i think that All is Dust is worth the extra card.

2 Surgical Extraction
1 Huntmaster of the Fells
1 Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet
1 Languish
1 Ancient Grudge
1 Engineered Explosives
3 Fulminator Mage
1 Duress
Boarded in Huntmaster pretty much all games, Kalitas was also great. Languish did some work for me against Merfolk (Master of Waves) and Spirits. EE felt good against Spirits aswell when they have 2x Drogskool Captain.
Round 1: BG Rock (Loss)
Round 2: Burn (Win)
Round 3: Grixis Shadow (Loss)
Round 4: Burn (Win)
Round 5: Spirits (Loss)
Round 6: Merfolk (Win)
Round 7: Bridgevine (Loss)

1 Twilight Mire
4 Blackcleave Cliffs
3 Raging Ravine
1 Treetop Village

Still a lot of testing to do but i am excited to experience learning a new deck again
Well deserved 1st place! Also: spicy 61 cards
So i am going to give them a try in Mardu first before buying the rest of the pieces for Jund.
My list looks pretty much like before except i traded Rabblemasters for Lilianas and cut the last Arid Mesa as i have higher black requirements now.
4 Marsh Flats
2 Swamp
2 Mountain
1 Plains

2 Blood Crypt
1 Sacred Foundry
4 Young Pyromancer
4 Bedlam Reveler

Really looking forward to giving this list a try. First time playing Liliana in Modern and i am really excited!
