Gold-Forged Sentinel - He will be playable some of the time. I think the U/R artifact decks will want him the most, but like Scion of Ugin did, he'll show up in some control decks too as a finisher.

Leaf Gilder is definitely playable, I think it is actually one of the better Green commons in Origins.

Eyeblight Assassin will be relatively playable I think, especially in the elf archetype. Even if he can't kill a guy, he can disrupt combat enough for your creatures you already have in play to swing more aggressively.

Aven Battlepriest is unplayable. Too expensive for mediocre stats and a mediocre effect.

Anointer of Champions is fringe playable, but far from an auto-run.

I think if you are in red, you probably run the Vortex, as even if you run out of gas in the late game, it turns every card you draw into a shock. I don't think you want to splash it though.

I'm also going with Swift Reckoning! It is one of the best removal spells in the format, and Chandra's parents are good even if you don't go the U/R artifact route, so you aren't losing much by looking to go into R/W.

I think Celestial Flare is the really clear pick here. I know its been debated, but I think it is a great removal spell!

I'm also going with the Patron here. It is the strongest card in the pack, and the potential upside of taking it is greater than the Rhox Mauler. The Mauler would make our deck if we are B/G after our first pick for sure, but we're almost guaranteed to see more of him if it turns out those colors are super open. I'm a big fan of staying open in the first few picks and just taking the best cards.

I would go with Blessed Spirits in pick 2. I think it is better than Topan Freeblade all day erry day. Plenty of good enchantments in this set too!

This is a very weak pack, for me the top 2 are probably the Conclave Naturalists, since it will usually have a target on turn 5, and Anchor to the Aether. I don't think that rare is first pickable at all, since on occasion it will do absolutely nothing. Shaman of the Pack is good, but I don't like committing to an archetype on my first pick, unless the card is a little better than just "good."

I don't think I would run Touch of the Moonglove most of the time. However, if I ended up R/B with Chandra's Ignition, Touch of the Moonglove would be tempting. But as far as combat tricks go it is one of the weaker ones in the set, as you will get 2-for-1'd with it most of the time.

I'm going with white because of the 3 premium removal spells at common and uncommon. Black also has a lot of removal, but I think it is actually not as good as white's. Which is weird to say for sure.

This is kind of a hard one I think. The Bellower is good, but if you first pick him and find green is unopen you can't even splash him, because he only fetches green creatures. I mean, I guess you could splash for the 6/5 body, but that's not too exciting. Reave Soul and Tower Geist are both very good too, I think with the Reave Soul edging out the Geist slightly. That said, I think you still go with the Bellower for the high ceiling it has.

I think Patron of the Valiant is pretty clearly the pick here. Fiery Impulse is the next best card in the pack, and that is a pretty steep drop off from the Patron. The Patron does require some building around to fully get all of its potential -- you need to be in the G/W archetype to really milk it, but it is good in a vacuum too.

I would take Chandra's Ignition. It does leave me open to getting 2-for-1'd sometimes, and it needs some set up that will influence my later picks for better or for worse, but I think the upside is strong enough to take it over the Thopter Engineer and Separatist Voidmage.

I agree that it is Hellion #1 by far, Swift Reckoning #2.

For me the pick is between Skysnare Spider and Celestial Flare. I think I would lean towards the spider, mostly because there is other removal in the set that is as good as the Flare. I don't think there are many (are there any?) creatures at common and uncommon that compare with the spider.

This is a tricky one. I think Celestial Flare will be premium removal, but I think that Patron of the Valiant and Souldblade Djinn are both very good. I think because this pack will send no signals about blue if I take the Djinn, I would go for him. If I take the Patron, someone else will take the Flair and go into white, and vice versa.

Yeah, not a hard one at all. Chandra's Parents are one the best rares in the set!
