Also, Mogg Fanatic (or Death Cultist) + Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker both in the yard + Necrotic Ooze on the field is a really nice and easy combo to set up with just a Buried Alive and then casting the ooze via Chainer. NOTE: I was recently informed you dont even need the third piece. You can activate Kiki after your opponents end step but before their cleanup phase to keep the tokens until the next players end step which will untap your army of infinite tapped oozes if your turn is next. This requires trickier timing and is more easily disrupted by say a Ghostly Prison so you may want to keep the third pieces in anyway. But still, its good to know if you only have the 2 pieces
Now Chainer is a much more interesting discard outlet imo. He genuinely interests me, although as far as reanimator goes, hes lacking compared to other options. Still, one of the better Rakdos general options
Idk if this is smart or not but im thinking of using a lot of doing a voltron thing. 7 power is a great floor for power cause you only need to hit 3 times. Just copy an unblockable like Slither Blade to swing as an unblockable and try to use +1 counters or even stuff like Thornling/Aetherling/Endling to pump him up for bigger damage. The lings also have protective abilities too.
But why do new, exciting cards have to preclude worthwhile reprints, particularly staple reprints?
Just as an example, all the Medallions save one, are $5 or less, so why not put the one that corresponds to a decks most dominant color across all decks? It’s impossible to believe that the makers of Magic can’t strike a deck balance and include a $7 highly played card at the same time.
They don't have to, im just saying I don't really care. If they pushed it more that would be nice. Push it too much though and venders might sell them for way more so they need to be somewhat careful
Ya man, I'm really enjoying this set so far. So far I've found 2 commanders I'm going to build, Vorath and K'rrik and ill be surprised if I dont end up building one of the Rakdos generals too. So far there seems to be a theme where the last commander spoiled is best, I hope that is true for the last 2 decks too
morph deck will still probably make the most sales though given that Vorath is really spicey. I'm buying morph just for that. (but if teh deck itself is trash, i might pick him up as a single instead.
The list is already fully spoiled. I might get it just for Vorath and Seedborne muse. I also kinda like Rayami for exile tech but idk if id actually use it.
You make a good point on madness wanting/needing a discard outlet in the zone, I just dont like the design on this discard outlet. Rather than going for a weird pseudo storm thing that hyper specifically cares about madness, I would have preferred something more generic that could enable more than just madness. Like say an each player discards a card trigger, thats all upside with madness. If thats not spicy enough perhaps a trigger whenever you discard your first card each turn or something. This could enable hellbent and dredge stuff in addition to madness
How good would Asylum Visitor feel in what I just described?
Edit: The first ability is fine, just not a fan of the second.
Edit: The tree combos on one player with Archfiend of Despair too. What fo you guys think of that combo?
Edit 2: Heartless Hidetsugu Works even better with the Archfiend
- Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker + Zealous Conscripts
- Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker + Combat Celebrant
- Walking Ballista (or Triskelion for budget)+ Mikaeus, the Unhallowed
- Archfiend of Despair + Heartless Hidetsugu (or Tree of Perdition to kill 1 player)
I like these cause they're 2 card combos and all creatures so they can be reanimated.

For just solid reanimate targets there's: Flayer of the Hatebound, Sire of Insanity and Archfiend of Spite
Mass Reanimation: Living Death, Twillight's Call and Balthor the Defiled
Any other good combos I'm missing or other solid win cons for new Chainer?
