maybe Mox Opal as third colorless mythic to cover Scars of Mirrodin? it would feel strange to have a historic set without any Moxen (and considering this and chrome the only reprintable)
Why people still fuss about Iconic Master not being Iconic? The set was not about iconic cards in the history of Magic (that's A25 as we can see), it was about ICONIC RACES (dragons, angels, demons, sphynx and hydras) and that was there
Ok, WotC maybe choose a misleading name for the set but it was always described as concerning Iconic Races
I can’t believe this is the second black mythic. No Demonic Tutor? Or Imperial Seal? Or Grim Tutor?
Pretty sure they can print demonic at rare. It's been uncommon in every set except vintage masters.
I'm still praying for DT as a rare, as stated it was an UC originally and it can be reasonably be printed at rare now (it's a quite basic effect, nothing Mythic about it). I NEED a black borded one
Thinking about the only 3 cards spoilered and a few reprint wishes I got a few archetype theory that I want to explain:
Idea 1: thinking about Phyrexian Obliterator, it's strange to have a BBBB card in limited so maybe a black-centric archetype could be Devotion with the following reprint/helpers: Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, Cabal Coffers (much needed reprint, it's 17€ for an UC here in Europe), Oubliette (extremely costly card, used in pauper and one of the few Arabian Nights interesting reprints), Dark Ritual (because, cmon, anniversary set without Ritual it's not enough celebration!)
Idea 2: thinking about Azusa, Lost but Seeking and a few of the cards included in Idea 1 can be a land matters archetype, adding Rishadan Port (everyone wants this), Urzatron (finally a new-frame black-borded version) and Crucible of Worlds
We're significantly pulling back on how often the Gatewatch will appear as planeswalker cards. It will still happen when the story calls for it, but far less often. For example, for all of 2017 and 2018, only a handful of planeswalker cards will be Gatewatch members, and that's including in Planeswalker Decks, where they'll appear slightly more often.
So with Jaya being on board I'm thinking Chandra will only appearere as a planeswalker deck walker and Jaya will be in the main set, so the set walkers will be (IMO) Liliana, Karn, Teferi and Jaya.
why 4 PW in the set? the standard was 5 in the 2-set block with a 3-2 split, considering that we will go with all "big" set the standard should be 3 pw per set. I dont't think Liliana will be in (considering the quote about GW members toning down) and Karn (C) Jaya (R) and Teferi (U/UW) will be the set PW
You may have missed that RIX Vraska deck is monoblack
I was replying to someone who said just that. Could you provide a source on that info? I'm pretty sure we haven't learned the contents of these decks other than the reveal of their exclusive cards.
The article that revealed the PDW cards showed the dual from Angrath's deck (Cinder Barrens). IF Vraska's deck also included a dual I honestly can't think of a reason why they wouldn't have also spoiled that. Thus speculation that all mono-black spoiler cards+no spoiled dual land=in all likelihood a mono-black deck.
If Vraska's deck was GB then there'd be no reason for her card to be mono-black. If she's mono-black because the deck is vampire-centric (thus WB), then there's no reason for them not to have spoiled Forsaken Sanctuary along with Cinder Barrens.
And the cards are numbered in order of the deck, Vraska first then Angrath, and there is no cards slot for a land in the numbering
On the topic of Planeswalker Deck colors, keep in mind that it appears RIX's Vraska PWD is monoblack, not dual colored so going forward it looks like having two colors (and the requisite dual land) aren't a requirement.
The decks are always dual coloured (or more - see Bolas) - even if the planeswalkers themselves are mono coloured. Just because the 'unique' cards are all black doesn't mean the deck itself will be mono - otherwise you could say the same about most of the other planeswalker decks (Nissa's unique cards were all green, Chandra's unique cards were all red, Jace's unique cards were all blue)
The dual-coloured taplands are too much an integral feature of the product for them to otherwise.

I can see a mono U Teferi with a UW deck and a mono R Jaya with a mono R deck
Remember - they have said that they will be printing fewer GateWatch characters going forward. They recognize they have been flooding Standard with the GateWatch and that people are getting sick of seeing them. I wouldn't be surprised if neither Liliana nor Ajani get a new card until after their existing ones rotate out.
The planeswalker decks are likely to be Johira (U/R) and Tefiri (W/U) - which will be nice considering those are two colours we don't currently have planeswalker decks for.
Jhoira isn't a PW she is "simply" ageless, the PW will probably be Karn (c) Teferi (U or UW) and Jaya (R) while Jhoira will be the long awaited UR artificer Legend imho
in the full image of the Blessing we can see the info at the bottom saying FNM 02/12 so the foil blessing will be the february FNM and probabily the normal token will be in boosters, and thus not pre/release item
Bladewing the risen was downshifted to UC in Iconic Masters, and Hikari, Twilight Guardian in MM2
the article says that only the enemy ones are in

any thoughts on this?

that AND Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth to help a black mana heavy (devotion) archetype (hinted by Obliterator)

sometimes but not always, Relics spolied Sword of B&M iirc but Angels and Lore (the 2 most recent) didn't soil anything
