Another video of the Esper version - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXhzUy12sDQ
This time without the clunkier cards like: Gideon Jura and Slaughter Pact and with Night's Whisper for some card draw and the 24th land over the 3rd Bitterblossom.

Mar 17, 2018Goblins is a pretty good starting point:Posted in: Modern Community
The expensive cards in the deck are Goblin Guide and Legion Loyalist (and SB Blood Moon) while the rest of the deck is pretty much budget.
Mar 17, 2018I think that Knight of the White Orchid is much better than something like Traveler's AmuletPosted in: Deck Creation (Modern)
(a worse Wayfarer's Bauble or Mycosynth Wellspring/Armillary Sphere) in the deck especially with a plan of aggressively using
Pilgrim's Eye can also be replaced with a better creature like Blade Splicer which is a good blocker and can be flickered to build a good board state to begin attacking.
You should also have Wall of Omens in the deck as it is an archetype staple as a blocker that cantrips.
It is much better than Squadron Hawk besides crewing Smuggler's Copter (for which Thraben Inspector can be used).
Smuggler's Copter is a good card but 4x copies is most likely too much so I'd cut it down to 2x to add more interaction as having no cheap removal
(Path to Exile) can be an issue.
Flagstones of Trokair works very well with Ghost Quarter to get plains out of the deck and activate Emeria quicker.
Crucible of Worlds is also good in the deck and a good replacement for Mortarpod which is pretty bad in many match-ups where you have no 1-toughness creatures to shoot down.
Mar 16, 2018The Hydras don't really work with CoCo and aren't that good anyway.Posted in: Deck Creation (Modern)
#Some generally good creatures that also have counters on them are:
Scavenging Ooze, Tireless Tracker, Rishkar, Peema Renegade and Narnam Renegade (and the slightly less efficient Greenwheel Liberator).
#Some more questionable options are: Skarrgan Pit-Skulk, Young Wolf, Endless One (or Simic Initiate/Servant of the Scale), Aquastrand Spider,
Undergrowth Champion and Managorger Hydra.
Bramblewood Paragon (or Tuskguard Captain) can be a +1/+1 counters' payoff.

Mar 14, 2018It is a similar effect to Behind the Scenes which doesn't require a blue splash.Posted in: Deck Creation (Modern)
I am not sure that adding anoher "combo piece" (besides Tower Defense, Assault Formation and Doran) is really necessary over more interaction in the maindeck.
Mar 14, 2018I've tried Cloak and Dagger initially but the card is just too slow usually and doesn't impact the board.Posted in: Deck Creation (Modern)
Smuggler's Copter is the better option for a 2-mana pseudo-equipment.
Hidden Strings is good with prowl but is mostly too cute as the deck can trigger prowl consistently enough as it is.
I'd rather have more interaction in this slot.
Noggin Whack can be great in some match-ups and weaker in others so I've stopped using it.
Instead of maindeck discard I have Spellstutter Sprite as disruption (with a body) and it is usually well enough supported with the other faeries in the deck (Faerie Miscreant, Oona's Prowler, Oona's Blackguard, Quickling) and Mutavault.
Mar 14, 2018Have you considered Monastery Mentor in tbe deck ?Posted in: Deck Creation (Modern)
It works well with all the cheap (and free) cantrips and can take over the board quickly if you can protect it.
Here is a decent Mentor build resembling your deck but with more of a tokens theme and Smuggler's Copter as an additional threat.
Mar 13, 2018Mistblade Shinobi seems like a more situational Vapor Snag to me, not sure why I'd want to dedicate creature slots to it.Posted in: Deck Creation (Modern)
I'm also not a fan of 3-drops in this deck (besides Earwig Squad which is rather big and has a powerful ability).
That's why I wouldn't bother with cards like: Cold-Eyed Selkie, Jhessian Thief/Neurok Commando/Stealer of Secrets, Surrakar Spellblade
and Latchkey Faerie (best of the bunch).
Sygg, River Cutthroat looks decent but the ability isn't consistent enough and mostly works when you're already winning.
Glint-Sleeve Siphoner is probably the more reliable option to draw cards and is also evasive and hits for 2.
Night Market Lookout is worse than the unblockable 1-drops and only provides some lifegain (like Vampire Cutthroat) which doesn't seem good enough.
Mar 13, 2018I've tried this build for some games and wasn't pleased with the manabase (the non-budget version).Posted in: Deck Creation (Standard)
I consistently had openers with Sunpetal Grove and Evolving Wilds being unable to cast Hidden Stockpile on turn 2.
The deck could probably use Concealed Courtyard over Field of Ruin and a couple of basics.
I'm testing out: 2x Regal Caracal + 2x Arborback Stomper in the Golden Guardian slots for some immediate value.
Other options might be: Angel of Invention, Angel of Sanctions and Vona, Butcher of Magan.
Might also give Tendershoot Dryad a try but I'd hesitate spending 5-mana on an easily killable (especially bad against Magma Spray that exiles it) creature without immediate value.
I also prefer Thrashing Brontodon to Jadelight Ranger in the 3-mana slot for Journey flipping purposes and being a better blocker.
I've found Benefaction of Rhonas to be pretty good in this build (as a 2x-of) finding both creatures and enchantments (especailly Ixalan's Binding).
Mar 13, 2018Here is another interesting Journey deck:Posted in: Deck Creation (Standard)
Not sure if Golden Guardian is worth it but (once flipped) it can provide extra mana to activate Atzal besides making golems.
Mar 13, 2018Looks pretty good, works with most of the creatures in the deck besides Earwig Squad and Quickling.Posted in: Deck Creation (Modern)
I'm not sure if it is necessary though as the deck is built with evasion in mind anyway and the non-bo with the counters from Oona's Blackguard.
Mar 12, 2018Affinity isn't a bad matchup actually especially with Skyspawner which is great against their deck (and also Gryff if you can cast it early enough) and Etched Champion is an overcosted bear against the Eldrazi.Posted in: Deck Creation (Modern)
In the SB Ratchet Bomb does a good job as well also dealing with Cranial Plating as well as Ravager/Skirge.
Against Burn you pretty much need to curve out and pressure them and the deck usually faires well against Eidolon.
Abundant Maw would probably come too late most of the time anyway and might get hit by Skullcrack if they see you tutoring for it with Sanctum.
I'm not sure if this match-up deserves dedicated SB slots those could also be: Dragon's Claw, Sun Droplet, Elixir of Immortality and Bottle Gnomes/Filigree Familiar.
I find the rocks necessary to smooth out the mana and cast the Smashers consistently and I've also gone down to 22x lands with them.
Having a turn 1-play isn't that crucial (especially if it is a map that does nothing) and Relic is good enough there.
Mar 11, 2018What is the reason to go RB over Mono Red ?Posted in: Deck Creation (Modern)
Why would you want Warchief ? All the goblins which are worth playing are cheaper anyway.
Krenko, Mob Boss and Siege-Gang Commander are decent cards but not exactly modern-playable.
