Kaya's guile is the only card that has been spoiled that I really think I could play due to the flexibility. Archmage charm is flexible but way more prohibitive to cast.
Is it though? I've cast Cryptic on Turn 4 a billion (yes, billion) times.
I think he means having 3 blues source on turn 3 is harder than 1BW on turn 3.
3 blues source on turn 3 is also harder than 3 blues source on turn 4.
Ouphe is excellent. Full stop. It's a maindeckable bullet in toolbox decks and a solid SB plan for everyone else in green. Claim doesn't touch it and Explosives doesn't either. Just watch out for Blast Zone in decks that can support it.
Yaegmoth seems very strong. Draws lots of cards with two Undying creatures in play. Definitely a sweet, Bolt-proof engine that also wrecks opposing creature decks: sign me up. I need izzetmage to tell me if this is good in aristocrats decks.
EDIT: And we get Eladamri's Call. Instant speed 2 mana tutor seems EXTREMELY playable.
I'm thinking about a deck using bitterblossom (maybe souls), cabal terapist and yawgmoth.
Reid Duke has some kind reveal, maybe some kind of fixed DRS, I think. That and a sylvan library that's fixed.
Maybe it's because english isnt my primary langage but did you mean that Reid Duke know some card not revealed yet?
''and he's optimistic about them''?
Midrange and Shadow decks nearly nonexistent in SCG tournament. The archetype as a whole needs an influx of good spoilers, or now needs more attention from RnD the way blue was given the past few years.
With more than half of the set left to go, I think there's still a very good chance we get some BGx staple throwbacks. Frontrunners include fixed Sylvan Library, DRS, Hymn, and/or Deed. There might also be some new spin on Goyf, Flayer, or Ooze as another high value/rate clock. Tons of cards left to help out the archetype.
I also wonder if they will print one monarch card in the set. That could probably create a new deck on its own, if it was playable.
I 100% agree !! I'm not desesperate hehe! Let's be positive and hope for the best.
Phoenix needs a critical mass of cards in hand to function.
Not really though. They can Opt into Opt into Gut Shot with an otherwise empty hand and a mere two lands in play and put anywhere between 3 to 12 power on the board just like that. This is the consistency issue. GDS won out here as it, too, has nut draws and is probably the number one deck in the format when it comes to raw power, but it could just as easily have gone the other way. I didn't watch the game, but my ten bucks says it was close.
I agree with your statement. Grixis vs Phoenix is usually pretty close. But I think it's right to chose the draw in this matchup.
The deck is clearly more concistent with more cards in hand.. Also, choosing the draw give you more chance to draw your surgical and push.
First, people should know how to play against UR Phoenix.
The dude who finished first this weekend with Grixis Shadow did beat UR Phoenix in final.
He said that both gds and phoenix want the draw in that matchup as it's a battle of raw resources. Phoenix needs a critical mass of cards in hand to function.
So.. If you are playing a control/midrange deck. Choose the draw against UR Phoenix. It'll help.
They tested bridgevine against banned deck.

Claim//fame isnt played because it is a dead card when you dont have shadow//jace//snap in the graveyard.
Cycling change everything.
I Guess.
100% agree, it's disgusting;
You said Toxic Deluge wasnt enaugh, they just made a SO MUCH WORSE Toxic Deluge.. =(

Also a great sb card to BGx.
Pretty excited about this card.

Pretty sad to see as a Shadow / BGx player lol..
We don't need more terminus.
IT IS INSANE RESULT.
