I agree, but if playing nacatl that doesnt get pumped with burn spells and it doesnt hit the turn it comes out. Stormchaser has evasion and can hit right away. I agree twisted probably isnt the best card, but the build is still in progress and the interaction with said creatures and that it replaces itself isnt the worst thing in the world.

I kind of replaced a-command with skullcrack, and ive been playtesting with twisted and it may be better served as a possible sb option. In regards to it vs a burn spell, with either swift or mage out it still ends up reading "deal 2/3 more damage, draw a card" due to triggers and swap.

Twisted Image gives you +2 power (+3 due to Prowess) and draws a card. Titan's Strength gives you +3 power (+4 due to Prowess) and gives you a scry. If you want Twisted Image, why not Titan's Strength (which doesn't require blue)?

Blue just doesn't have anything good to offer to Burn. Stormchaser Mage is better in a UR tempo strategy with cantrips and Delver.

Drawing a card is generally more powerful, as it would be the first card cast, and would usually lead to another card that I would be able to cast that same turn, and if it's a land can fuel shard volley. U doesn't offer much, but stormchaser mage is, in my mind, better than nacatl, as it has haste, prowess, and evasion. nacatl can just be blocked on the ground, and requires you to find a sacred foundry to make it worthwhile. This way every creature has haste, and the curve is 1-2 mana, excluding rift bolt to some extent. U doesn't really need to do much for burn, minus possibly jeskai charm (SB), stormchaser mage, and possibly twisted image, just as G doesn't have to really do much for nacatl burn

Twisted also kills jace, spellskite, and noble hierarch

I was also thinking twisted image could be good with the prowess guys. Also can be helpful for sb stuff if necessary. I agree i was kind of on the fence about shard volley but it was intriguing to have a t1 swiftspear t2 stormchaser t3 3 bolt/volley/spike and swing for lethal

Maybe jeskai charm over rift bolt?

Ive been toying around with this, and it appears to be a little better than nactl in my playtests. Would appreciate any input

I agree with whocansay. If pile A fulfils an immediate need for you then go for it. If not hold the expo. It will only go up and gideons will most likely go down. If anything look for an additional 5-10 of added value to pile A like a serum visions or stony silence.

Pile B easily. Pile A would have to throw in about $5 cash, as you can get a NM hangarback currently for about $10, but gavony and stony will run you right around 13-14. Low price on damaged stony is around 5.25, but the next best price is a nm one for 7.78. Stony has also been steadily rising, even outside of the modern season.

Now I am curious, when I traded Stony Silence was fairly low, but there seems to have been a huge spike recently. Why did that happen?

It is a great SB card vs. Tron. With Twin and Bloom now gone, Tron may have a little more play, thus making silence a little more desirable to have in your SB. Also good vs affinity and spellskite.

Seems like a fair trade, the deck is worth around $580 in cash, but you only get full retail when trading. You always get less when trying to get cash for cards so this seems like a fair deal. I think I'd take the deck if you really need it or want to play it, if not maybe try to get $500.

    Edit:
I agree, though just a few thoughts on pile A. Merfolk is also becomming more popular decks since it is one of the cheaper tier 1/2 decks. The list looks a little dated however. No meerow reejery and only 1 cavern of souls. If I were getting pile A id go in knowing id have to put in about 150 to bring it up to date.

Pile A - Foil Might of Old Krosa
Pile B - Khans Bloodstained Mire

I have no need for a card that's only used in Infect. I can get an extra Bloodstained Mire (I have 4 Khans and 2 Onslaught already).

You can also get a LP Bloodstained mire for around 16 total, where the lowest price that I see for a LP foil Might is around 19. I would see if Pile B had something else in the 2-4 range that they would be willing to part with, personally speaking.

Ingest does literally nothing without processors and completely sucks as a mill mechanic, so you're wrong.
The fact that "it's suchs as mill" doesn't change the fact that it's a mill mechanic and can be used for it. It's innefficient mill? Yes. But it is a mill effec. PERIOD. Being usable by processors is a bonus.

Also dont forget that cards with effects to put a specific card on top of your librry like reclaim are much less desirable

I still think that <> is simply the new colorless symbol as white, blue, black, red, and green have their own mana symbols, and numbers will be returned to their original functionality as generic mana ONLY.

Which allows for new types of mana costs like Kozilek that requires 8 generic and 2 colorless.

Fully agree with this. Thinking of past cards, Ugin could have cost 6<><> As well, and I really don't think that this new mana source will be set specific. I think it helps the difference between "artifact" "artifact x/y/z" and "colorless x/y/z"

You are right to bring up expeditions. Why did they print all of those and not have a way to fetch <>? Kinda $#!++y if you ask me, regardless of how <> happens to work.

Excluding the expeditions, which I really think we could see another cycle of gain lands or pain lands, there are a ton of 'weak' green cards, like natural connection, sylvan scrying, seek the wilds, blighted woodland, nissa's renewal, etc that can be used to find it. It could be the reason why so many search cards were printed in bfz.

I just had a few thoughts to this whole "basic land" wastes and what the implications are for magic in general and I would love any feedback on this. I apologize in advance if anything has already been stated or asked/answered.
    1) Clearly the biggest change will be in Commander, where colorless commanders can now be realistic.
    2) I actually am a huge fan of this, as there are numerous cards this could attach to. Not just devoid cards, but any non-artifact colorless card (think ghostfire and scion of ugin)
    3) I believe that this means that there will have to be either a new cycle of fetch lands, or something that fetches wastes specifically. Could be something along the lines of wasted foothills "T Pay 1 life Sac: search for a basic forest, plains, or colorless land and put it into play, then shuffle your library" or even just wasted forest "T Pay 1 life Sac: Search for a forest or wasted and put it into play, then shuffle your library"
    4) If they choose to not print fetchlands, they could run pain lands, much like caves of koilos but instead of adding colorless mana they would add <> or even a new cycle of tri-lands, where they would come into play tapped and add <>, X, or Y to your mana pool
    5) This would also provide a perfect way to split modern. If they decided to make a new format, they could start at origins and go from there. This would allow the khans fetches to stay in the current modern and would not turn that format on its head. I know a lot of people said M15, but I think the more logical place to start would be from origins.
    6) I really don't think this is going to go the way of the snow lands. Snow lands were specifically only for abilities of cards (to my knowledge) and not an actual cost of casting a card.
    7) Thinking about the expeditions, I highly doubt they would print a basic land as an expedition. I would be inclined to think that it would be a cycle of pain lands, with the wasted add on, and 5 new fetches for the wasted land type.
Just my thoughts. Any feedback would be appreciated, just for my own sanity
    Thanks!

Hey I'm relatively new to this site, but have been working on a version of elves that I'm looking for some input on. I've been seeing a lot of people using nykthos, pendelhaven, and cavern of souls but I'm not 100% on nykthos currently. I just feel that with all that you have out you really don't need to run the devotion angle on it with chord having convoke, and in mine summoners pact to gain free G via nettle sentinels and heritage druid. I'm going to be running this deck tomorrow and will update with results.
    Here is a link:
    elves
any input would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

I am just going to link your list here for convenience.

    1. The Pact + Chord plan seems very odd. You probably shouldnt need this amount of toolboxing and both of these effects come with extra added cost to play. I suggest running one or the other. Pact + Craterhoof is sort of a package as well. I don't think running both is all that advised.
    2. 16 land is too few. You have a few extra dorks I guess but you need to bring yourself to at least 18 lands (most suggest 19).
    3. You are running too many shocks and too few basics. Most 3 color decks will run a configuration that is something like 2-3 shocklands and 8 fetches with another 4+ basics. Second copies of shocks tend to loose value. I am not really even sold that this list needs to be more than mono green from what you have so far though. Your other colors are all in SB and I think you need to overhaul your sideboard.
    4. Surgical Extraction will never really work because this deck doesn't run answers.
    5. Pact of Negation its too slow and is the only reason you are splashing blue. Cut it.
    6. In general, I think you need to take a closer look at your sideboard as it has a lot of room for improvement. When running the chord of calling plan you tend to have better selection of sideboard creatures so a lot of us will run single copies of hosers that come in and can be tutored for.
    7. Regal Force needs to go away. Its slow and silly.
    8. In general, your list is built on the Elvish Archdruid + Ezuri, Renegade Leader plan but you lack Ezuri. Shaman of the Pack is generally not a substitute for him.

I completely agree with the sb. I really needed an overhaul but I was used to only running pact to stop them from disrupting my ramp going off. I was thinking about running a sb like this instead:
    4x pact of negation
    4x abrupt decay
    3x thoughtseize
    2x nihil spellbomb
    2x spellskite

I actually like having summoner's pact in there since it assists with the nettle sentinel combo with heritage druid. The U in the deck was basically for spellskites ability, though isn't necessary and I will most likely take out both temple garden and breeding pool for 2 more forests.
Would taking out regal force for ezuri be a better plan of attack? Usually, I like the card draw generated from force since I'm not running beck // call.
