Hey I'm relatively new to this site, but have been working on a version of elves that I'm looking for some input on. I've been seeing a lot of people using nykthos, pendelhaven, and cavern of souls but I'm not 100% on nykthos currently. I just feel that with all that you have out you really don't need to run the devotion angle on it with chord having convoke, and in mine summoners pact to gain free G via nettle sentinels and heritage druid. I'm going to be running this deck tomorrow and will update with results.

any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
After reading all the way through page 2 I kinda have gotten the jist of the back and forth. My thoughts are as follows:
With the new card retreat to kazandu, that would enable a 6/6 hangarback on turn 3. T1 mystic t2 hardend scales then hanagrback, t3 retrat and fetch. Its not that impossible and with fetches and with that card mystic can easily become hard to kill.
On the flip side you still have wild slash and a few other 2 drop spells that on the play can kill mystic. And on the play mystic can still be killed by t3.
If they could reprint something like springleaf drum it would be better i think.
Thats just me though.
Im actually trying to use it as an added combo piece in combo elves. Run imperious perfect and presence of gond. I think the problem is that if you make a ton of tokens you cant attack with them immediately but with shaman of the pack it might be worth testing a BUG version. Could also convoke to drop eldrazi with chord.
Im running an interesting deck that has matched fairly well against abzan coco. I guess I would call it a Doran assault deck. Basically plays a lot of cheap 0/x creatures to hit hard with assault formation/doran effect and uses abrupt decay/path/inquisition to slow them down. Can also sb in ensnaring bridge so their creatures cant attack.
I run a mono U artifact deck with tomb, foundry, and darksteel. Thopter spy network and hangarback are pretty awesome with tomb. Saves me against RDW very often
