Idk, brewing is very difficult in modern and legacy and that difficulty is about the same to me. In legacy the blue cantrip shell restricts brews. You are heavily incentivesed In legacy to start your deck with 4 brainstorm, 4 ponder and 4 fow. In modern the diversity among tier 1 and tier 2 decks punish brews. You simply can't brew a deck that can have decent matchups across the majority of tiered decks
With that type of logic, you can argue for unbanning SFM by saying you want to use it to search up Leonin Scimitar or Shuko. This format is legitimately awesome and well-balanced, but you want to be able to play a midrange deck with 50/50 or better matchups against the entire field. You've actually used numbers as high as 70% winrates, but I will assume some element of hyperbole in those statements.
Don't get me wrong, I wish there would have been more comment on the No Change decision, considering pros were briefly crying for a ban to hit DS decks. I would like them to say "we consider the format to be healthy, so we did not consider any changes early on" or even "we considered trying to boost (insert archetype here), but do not yet have the data to justify this specific unban." But I can't help but believe that you and a couple other users just want your pet deck to be tier 1 or even tier 0.
You keep telling people what they want dispite not actually knowing these people.
You have literally said on this thread that you want a deck with a positive win percentage against the entire field, and that one reason you didn't like modern was the lack of a clear best deck or ones that could clearly be best with proper metagame awareness. I'm not telling anyone what they want, I'm remembering your claims some fifteen pages ago.
That was probably me, I am still a firm believer that Modern is too diverse and not worth the effort to get to a win percentage where monetization of the format can provide you a living. You can't build a Modern deck that has even to favored matchups against the field, that bothers me when the rewards of most Magic events are structured in such a way that you have to win at all costs to get the big reward.
Yeah, sorry. I guess this format isn't for the 1337$.
I just want to cast bloodbraid elf, cascade into stoneforge mystic then lose to half the tier 1 decks in the format. With no unbans and the lack of communication about them not unbanning certain cards makes it hard to get excited over modern

I'm 99% sure you are remembering wrong, but find me the posts where I said that. You are telling people what they want. You are literally doing that today with your recent posts. I'm sorry you have to resort to lying to get your point across Infraction issued for trolling. There are more civil ways to correct someone then calling them a liar. --CavalryWolfPack

You keep telling people what they want dispite not actually knowing these people. I could say you are just scarred that the decks you play will get worse if the format changes. I don't even have a deck I'm attached to right now and I have stated this before. So how about you stop putting words in people's mouths and telling people what they think

The new planeswalker rule would interact well with BBE. Cascading into a Gideon or Liliana would be pretty freaking strong with decks being able to run more quantity of walkers. Maybe this rule change factored into them not wanting to unban BBE right now.
That's a bit of a stretch. Is casting blood braid elf better than winning the game on turn 4 which most good decks can. Casting bloodbraid elf and cascading into Gideon or liliana is only good against other fair midrange decks.

This change is going to be pretty marginal. Most planeswalkers that see modern play are 3 or 4 mana and you can only play so many expensive sorcery speed things in modern or you risk getting run over by aggro or combo
I just don't see how unbanning certain cards like bbe and sfm is problematic. If they prove to cause issues they can just be re banned. Again as long as modern isn't eldrazi winter terrible people will still play. I just see very little downside
I mean the combo of melira, kitchen finks and varolz seems mediocre. It's pretty slow and infiite
Life doesn't even win the game against some decks. Now if there was a creature like redcap that gsz could get that would be a problem
1. Blood braid elf- the easiest unban, I'm not even sure it would see significant play. The 3/2 body for 4 mana just isn't what it used to be pre delve creatures and eldrazi
2. Stoneforge mystic- the best she can do is a turn 3 batterskull which is pretty tame compared to some other turn 2 or 3 plays in the format now, granted it's the consistency that makes sfm good. We also have more creatures that can hold off a batterskull. There are also just more answers for sfm and equipment now such as k command and fatal push. I imagine sfm would just be another good card
3A. Jace, the mind sculptor- 4 mana for something that doesn't heavily impact the board or win the game is just gonna be too slow in most games of modern. Jace would give control decks would help blue control decks which historically haven't been great in modern. The issues with jace is that it's at it's best against midrange and control decks and price which wotc may or may not care about
3B. Green sun zenith- I'm am of the opinion that gsz would be another powerful card in modern. It doesn't get any modern relevant combos, the shuffle away clause is arguably a downside as these decks would often play eternal witness. Gsz would help non combo oriented green creature decks such as knightfall or some big zoo decks. There is also the tension of playing it along side coco or chord as both require you to play very few non creature spells in your deck. The only real concern is if titan shift can utilize gsz but to me that is more indicative of valakut or something else being a problem.
4. Preordain- the most risky. It would help blue decks out in the consistency department which would result in less non games. The big issue is that it slots into some tier 1 decks and helps combo decks like storm significantly.
I believe we should give these cards a chance. Some have never seen play in modern or haven't been legal in years. Modern has changed so much in the past 3 years. If the cards prove to be a problem you can just re ban then. Modern has proven that people will love it as long as it isn't eldrazi winter levels of awful, so if they unban a card and it is clearly a problem I highly doubt it will destroy the format. Modern has proven to be a format that is resilient to changes
I guess I'm in the minority when I look at the banned list and say to myself "that would be totally fine in modern" as opposed to "such and such deck needs this card".
Fulminator mage is just way too slow to do what it needs to do. If we keep seeing decks that are centered around non basic lands we are going to eventually need some hate for them
Who is modern for?

This is what I have been trying to get across for a while now. Modern has become so much more powerful and fast since some of these cards were banned

Also agree. Those cards are very reasonable power wise considering what's going on in current modern.
