Recent Goyf Sligh lists have been playing 2-3 KGrip because Counterbalance wrecks them...you could do the same, as Vindicate can be countered.
In other news, don't play Kird Ape, it's terrible...to replace it, get some decent utility. Ape can't even trade with Goose...Nacatl is strictly better, pretty much.

Look, people. I can say that I want to shoot the president in the head, and then let's say, he get's shot in the head. No sane person would say that I am automatically guilty of this crime - my word is by no means evidence. It's the same thing here.

To put it bluntly, the Gutter is an exclusive, vindictive clique that targets certain members and puts forward efforts to torment, antagonize, or otherwise interfere with those people in the hopes of getting them banned. Members of this clique include both regular members and mods. The Gutter is basically a place where these immature individuals act out in a way that would not be possible on the main forums.

If anyone would like proof I would be happy to PM you unedited recent posts.

Howabout proof that these "efforts", which are in actuality only words in a private subforum, are acted upon?

That argument was made over the course of the thread by most of the gutterites. Well recognized. However, the problem with it is that, simply, how should we know what's in the gutter until we looked? (potential answer) We saw stuff that appalled us, and we don't want that on MTGS.

I'd buy that, sure. But what about the members who keep making gimmicks?
    But not from you:

Of course, as far as the gimmick sitch goes, I have no answer to that. Of course it's a lose-lose argument; either I like the gutter and don't see the problem, or I want it gone. Can't go both ways. This will come back to haunt me in this discussion again and again. I knew it from the beginning.
Pick one...do you like the gutter? If so, make a gimmick and stop trying to get it destroyed. If not, by all means, go ahead. BUT stop making gimmicks.

You can't have your gutter and eat it too.

You know what I find really amusing? Most of you guys who hate the gutter so much now, who want to see it destroyed, once requested access to the gutter yourself and were then kicked out. I'm not going to jump to the conclusion that you're doing this out of bitterness, or anything like that, but it sure does cast doubt on your arguments...many of you still make gimmiks to post in the gutter, or at least read it.
It's like 'if you can't join 'em, beat 'em," I guess.

Biden should wipe the floor with Palin, the problem is he'll probably go to hard and she'll get a sympathy win.
In the presidential debates, Obama is probably at a disadvantage, but I don't think it's as bad as Muriel thinks. This is because no one actually expects Obama to be a good debater, the media is biased in favor of him, and McCain isn't the greatest speaker either.

I still believe that the "Bradley Effect" is going to play a role in this election.

Before Sarah Palin came on board I was almost certain that Obama was going to blow McCain out of the water. Now many of the polls that I have seen show McCain in the lead...not only in the popular vote...but also in the Electoral Vote. What makes you so sure that its going to be a blue year Blinking Spirit?

While I agree with you in general that this isn't as obviously Obama's year as it was thought to be, this is still August, remember. Obama's trying to go back on the attack and he may very will succeed before October...look how fast the pick of Palin was a turnaround for McCain. The same could easily occur for Obama with a well placed attack on McCain. Politics these days is dirty...that's how it is, that's how it's gonna be. It's not a good thing, but it's the truth and the sooner the dems realize it the better that they'll do.

By 1939 the Great Depression was much less severe. The United States isolationist policies led to the U.S. ignoring the rising power of Nazi Germany. The United States could easily have aided a weakened Europe that was still trying to recover from World War 1. The U.S. was still one of the strongest countries in the world in 1939 and even more so in 1941, it would have been easy to hinder Hitler.

It's basically common knowledge that it was the World War that fully brought the US out of the Great Depression. But even if it wasn't, you can't fault the US for not stopping Hitler - no one even knew about the holocaust in 1939 besides conspiracy theorists.

They E.U. isn't a country...wow, that was helpful. Currently they are working on a full political union. They have the most powerful currency in the world and also collectively are a major economic powerhouse. Further, collectively they are not overstretched in a pointless war sucking their treasuries dry.

Still, it makes it harder for them to act in a unified sense towards a common goal, as the treat of lisbon proved.

First of all they are creating an army of the E.U. at present. Soft power does not mean that you can beat someone into submission, it means not using force. Europe has plenty it could do to back up its talk. Perhaps they were not particularly interested in Georgia because they are not trying to spread democracy around the world, unlike the United States who feels the need to continue to police the world.

They don't need Georgia? Oh really? What about that pipeline going through it that Russia could seize control of? Because, you know, Russia's actions are always so logical and straightforward that they would NEVER use that pipeline as a bargaining chip.

Really? First of all having socialist ideals does not mean that the country is going to collapse, Canada seems to be doing fine...
The E.U. is much more stable and prepared to deal with future issues than you are giving it credit for.

France is becoming more and more of a ******** by the day. Canada is doing better, yes, but it hasn't been socialist as long and in addition it is far less socialist than France.

I think it is a bit extreme to say that pointing out the issues with American Democracy, specifically low voter turn-out, is "Hating the U.S."

Sure, I was just venting in general.
I also think it is a bit extreme to say the United States is responsible for all democracy in Europe.

Again, granted, but it did have a hand in most of it.
As for the funding Europe after World War 2 perhaps if the United States hadn't been so self absorbed at the time World War 2 would never have happened, or been much less severe.

Wait, WTF? The US was in the great depression! Don't be stupid.
Europe and more specifically the E.U. is a far more stable and in many ways more mature system than the United States has been for the past 8 years. It may not be as perfect as it is portrayed but it is not nearly as ridiculous as the United States and its attempts to "Bring democracy to the world"

The EU is not nearly as stable as the US.
    1) The EU is not even a country. Seriously.
    2) The EU claims it has 'soft power'. Whole lot of good that did when Russia invaded Georgia. The world knows Europe won't do anything to back up words, so their words are completely disregarded.
    3) Much of Europe is a massive socialist system that is caving in on itself. France is the prime example. The just raised the maximum workday to...40 hours! And it was declared a victory for 'conservatism'. Sure, life there may be nice now, but the countries output is MUCH less than it's input and it's society, unless that of the US's, is not built to be able to change that. France will collapse under it's own weight, as will many of the larger socialist countries in Europe. It's just a matter of time.

Yeah, it's sad that we don't value democracy as highly as we should in the US, but c'mon, give us a break. We've had it for 250 years, so it's grown to be less special than it is everywhere else. It'll happen in Europe also...give it time. Seriously, I'm getting a little pissed at all this hate for the US. We brought democracy to Europe. We FUNDED Europe after the 2nd World War, something that we did not have to do at all. We actively look out for the best interests of democracy in the world, even if our execution is somewhat flawed. So all the europhiles out there need the shut up...Europe is not nearly as perfect as it's made out to be by the left in the US.

FoD is an incredible topdeck late game and he gives you staying power once an opponent has stabilized. Late game he can break through a wall of Goyfs, early game he's a mana sink if you have extra open. Sure, he isn't an impressive turn 1 play, but I'm not advocating running 4. Just play 3 and be happy.

I'd cut a early game 1 drop instead...that's what Nacatl is replacing.
