Would like some final feedback on the sideboard, since this is the first time im going with experience/gut when building it.
Decklist seems totally fine
Beside that, Potroque is right -> 1-2 Roast would be awesome and there isn't much need for Pyrite Spellbomb these days.
And I would add one Anger or Bomb to the Sideboard.
First Round vs. Dredge
Game1 - (He opens with Gemstone Mine and I am like "OMG, first round vs Ad Nauseam!?) Faithless Looting, Cathartic Reunion, always dredging for 6/12/18.... T3 he had 10(!!!) creatures on the field -> Anger of the Gods killed them (ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED)but then I died to two Bloodghasts + Scourge Devil (0:1)
Game2 - ... not hitting a single Relic or Cage or Anger... (0:2)
+ Grafdigger's Cage
+ Sun Droplet
-2 Stormbreath
0:1
Second Round vs U-Tron
Game1 - Knewing she's on Tron I aggressively mulliganed to something relevant, easy lose after I found nothing. (0:1)
Game2 - Perfectly playing the curve, Lightning Bolt -> Molten Rain -> Chandra -> Stormbreath -> Skred the Thought-Knot Seer -> gg (1:)
Game3 - We ended the match on 52 to 0 life, many interactions between 3 Wurmcoil Engines, a Batterskull + Thopter Token, some Skred and Shattering Spree, nearly made it to overtime but won 2min earlier, not much to say but funny match (2:1)
-4 Relic
-4 Scourge
+3 Molten Rain
+1 Vandalblast
+2 Shattering Spree
(1:1)
Third Round vs. Abzan/Junk
Rekt... nothing to say here, Relic -> Mind Stone -> Blood Moon -> Koth -> Chandra GG (1:0)
Second Match nearly the same, nothing he could do.
Boarded out the 3 Moons cause he knew exactly how to Play, boarded in 3 Bombs and the Cage (Kitchen Finks, Lingering Souls, ...)
(2:1)
Fourth Round vs. RG-Dragons (yeah... somehow thats a deck, he finished the tournament at the 11.place)
Played similar to Skred, Lands->Mind Stone->Dragon.
Each Dragon found a death in Skred... it was just a worse Version of Skred.
(3:1)
Fifth Round vs Through The Breach
Game1: Emrakul
Game2: Emrakul
(3:2)
HONESTLY, HOW SHOULD I WIN THIS?!
Sixth Round vs Storm
Game1: Ritual, Ritual, Ritual, Ritual, Manamorphose, Empty the Warrens - gg
Game2: Ritual, Ritual, Ritual, Ritual, Manamorphose, Empty the Warrens - Ratchet Bomb - Koth/Scourge - gg (1:1)
Game3: Opening Hand 2x Claw, 1x Cage, 1Relic, 2Lands, Anger WIN!
(4:2)
So much luck in here, interesting Matches Storm is a hard matchup for us, we Need the Relics/Cages AND the massremoval for Tokens...
Seventh Round vs Jund
Peace of Cake...Streaminlined Skred like I never played anything else in my whole life.
Relic Matchwinner here, taking out his Goyfs
(5:2)
Finished on the 10.Place - I'm happy.
What I've learned:
- Relic of Progenitus is awesome These days, shutting down Delirium/Goyfs/Dredge/Storm/...
- Skred still shines vs everything, you just Need 5lands :'D
- Beside Blood Moon and Rain, I think we Need more vs Tron.
- Dredge is still a f*cked up deck
- I have no ideas what to do vs Through the Breach
- Stormbreath and Koth > Liliana of the Veil
Skred is still an awesome deck in the meta - nice matchups vs Affinity, Death Shadow, Jund/Junk
But we Need to improve the matchups vs Storm and Tron/Eldra Tron.
hm I had 2 cages today with me, changed them for ratchet bomb since I already got 4x Relic - any ides what to cut else for 1-2 grafdigger's cages?
Need the Claws to win vs Burn :x
I would love to run 1-2x Banefire as well but don't see slots where they would fit.
Sideboard:
Claw vs Burn
Rain vs Control, Tron
Spree and Blast vs Lantern/Affinity/Prison/...
Bomb vs Merfolk, Token, Affinity, Enchantments...
Assault vs Grixis Control, Eldrazi, prot-white-creatures
Anger vs go-wide
I think Goblin Grenade and Shrapnel Blast could work if you want reach. The only issue is that you will need to replace Kuldotha for Blast and your flex slots for Grenade.
It's just a trial shell. I prefer Mox to Non-Mox and I do not use BTE, but I know the Non-Mox w/ BTE is a popular suit. With 35 creatures your creature density should be high enough and BTE will help make up for the lack of Kuldotha. And, once you tick an opponent into the 10 point life range you should be able to lob a few grenades across your wall of creatures.
Lastly, practice is huge. If you can get MTGO and grit through its steep initial learning curve, horrid user interface, and buy some cards (note MTGO cards are typically dirt cheap) your skills and understanding of any deck will skyrocket. It's not uncommon to crunch ten whole three round games in an hour. Do that an hour before bedtime presto instant expert on any deck you are working on. And, don't skip leg day and your 30 minute after workout protein shake. lol
Im actually more into getting fit again, need to lose around 10kg of pure fat
(fml, was f*cking lazy for 2-3years)
I'm not the playingmagiconline-guy - I usually like the Gathering (pun intended) with my friends to play Magic and actually I'm more into EDH stuff.
When summer finally starts I'm going for more Magic I think, but the next months I'm more for casual stuff or play something else than making Goblins great again but when I'l do it, there will be probably Grenades and Blasts in the 75.
There's a 30ppl-FNM and a GPT this weekend, actually I'm not even thinking 'bout sleeving up my 75 Goblinrobots and friends and that makes me sad - lets see what the week brings and maybe there will be a deep report sunday - but I think not (the GPT-Meta in my local store is pretty unfriendly towards goblins)
0:1 vs Red/Black/Madness/stuff (1:2)
Probably cheating guy, nothing to say here.
0:2 vs 4C-Scapeshift (1:2)
Cryptic Command my A** - he perfectly drew Cryptics and Bringt to Lights... timewalking me 3times game 2 and 2times game3 - to directly winning.
1:2 vs Burn (2:1)
Nothing to say, sided in Revelrys vs Bridge/Eidolon, whacked his face - easy gg
2:2 vs Jeskai Nahiri (2:1)
Now things getting interesting -
Boarded in 3x Genesis Chamber and 2Cages, fighting through Bolts, Helix, Pyroclasm, lost a game due to Nahiri and and and - was awesome.
->
Lack of Reach is disgusting, sometimes it is just bad luck, I need more practice.
All in All I still love Gobots <3
Hmmm...I agree that the aggro matches can sometimes be a tough match up. I haaate loosing to Merfolk. I'm like, "How are you a deck! And, I just lost to you." lol Well, let's go to the war chest and see what we got in stockpile. We have the battle tested Magmatic Chasm or Gruul Charm. And, all of those decks are ground pounders, so it should auto-win you the game. We can go offensive with Foul-Tongue Shriek, Weapon Surge, or Dragonrage. Now, you can match and/or exceed them in combat via first strike or evaid their blockers with more subtitle and complex manuvers. Next up we have Dolman Gate. But, I think the crack back could cause an auto-loss so let's forget that one. Speaking of crack back, we have Fog and Darkness. All you have to do is goad them into an attack and crack back. Lastly, we have Glorious Death, which can be used on the upkeep of the opponents second or third turn if you play Mox Opal and be rushed the following turn. What do you think?
I think "Welcome to Magic Christmas Land"
I guess Weapon Surge, Dragonrage and Gruul Charm are the way to go here till we find something better.
I'm still sad about my losses vs. mixture wide/big creature midrange decks.
4/5C-Humans
Merfolk
Collected-Allies
Revolt-Zoo
MonoW-Soldier
I have the feeling that without the "T2/3-Get-Rekt"-Powerdraw, Gobots can win these matchups...
My brain is working on this since weeks but I did not find a solution yet q_q
I think they all have there own merit. But, due to my inability to play at this time I cannot determine which pump spell would come out on top. Of all of them, I really like Dragonrage.
Maybe I'm going to play Gobots this friday, gonna test Dynacharge, maybe Weapon Surge - not sure what to play yet.
I repeat myself every 4-5sites here -> It always depends on your metagame <-
Little experience:
Watched 8-whack in a 100-people-tournament
(wide field, pilot didn't know what she's exactly doing, wasn't prepared for meta)
Didn't have Gravehate with her (when Dredge was on the rise), no Gut Shot (lost to Infect), nothing to fight Control.
(Some months later when I played Gobots on the same event I got rekt by Allies/Merfolk/RevoltZoo even if I was prepared and made right decisions -.- )
Played 8-whack in a 40-people-FNM
Knew the field, Genesis Chamber and Gut Shot cause I expected lot Control and some Infectstuff/Hierarchs/Birds and Cages to fight through Collected/Cord
-> easy (and lucky :D) evening, 4:0
Saw 8-Whack at a small local FNM, 8players
-> pilot was mostly playing vs Tron and Midrange, was fast enough to win and played blood moon in his board.
What sideboard options do we have for defense against board wipes like Anger of the Gods?
I've seen some talk about Genesis Chamber, but I can't figure out how to use it without severely slowing down the deck. The second turn is key for this deck to get creatures out and casting GC basically puts you back a turn. If you wait till a later turn to cast it, you'll have dumped most of your creatures, severely lowering the utility you'll get out of GC. When/how is GC being used?
Do we have any other options for boardwipes? The only other things I've seen as possibilities are Lightning Coils and Spawning Pit, which at least trigger off of dying creatures so you can drop it as insurance after you've got the hoard out on the battlefield. Do either of these have merit?
As Anger of the gods exiles, the answers for it are very narrow. It is a card that hits us hard and midrange goblins may rely on discard as spec.ops sugested.
For aggro goblins/gobots I'd go for Hope of Ghirapur.
Other approach could be fielding a lot of goblin arsonist, mogg fanatics and Mogg Marshal. When they die, at least they give you something.
Decklist seems totally fine

Played a similar deck on my last FNM:
+ 1 Batterskull
+ 1 Scrying Sheets
+ 1 Pia and Kiran Nalaar
+ 1 Anger of the Gods
- 2 Magma Jet
- 2 Eternal Scourge
To be honest, I missed the Scourge :x
I'd play Shattering Spree since you have 2 Ratchet Bombs for "Mass-Artifact"-Removal and Fallout/Anger for Artifactcreatures
We played 7 rounds + Split to Top8
4 Skred
3 Anger of the Gods
1 Roast
4 Relic of Progenitus
3 Blood Moon
4 Mind Stone
3 Pia and Kiran Nalaar
2 Stormbreath Dragon

Got invited spontanously to go to a 100-people-tournament in Germany (near the Netherlands) this Sunday :'D
Going to play SkRed there.
20 Snow-Covered Mountain

If I remember correctly I was always f'ckd up vs Eldrazi(Tron/Bant)and Tasigur.

Unpleased with the Gobots Sideboard q.q
Maybe I'm going to play Gobots this friday, gonna test Dynacharge, maybe Weapon Surge - not sure what to play yet.
Imho it is just a nope - just a worse whackeffect/Signal Pest/Lord and legendary - maybe useful with Goblin Fireslinger? I dont know :'D
Beside that I would cut Gut Shot Mainboard for just better cards and cut the landcount to 17/18.
-> +1/2 Piledriver, +1/2 Chieftains
(Since you're not running Goblin Guides (budget reasons?) I would try out Tattermunge Maniac instead - maybe for the Gut Shots)
Siderboardcards maybe Genesis Chamber, a 4. Smasth to Smithereens, Grafdigger's Cage, Kari Zev's Expertise, ..?
