Wrath of God does the same against us and I dont find that card to be that effective against us tbh. We can always run Warping Wail to counter it

Understood but this isn't another Wrath of God. Its a kill all your Eldrazi and I keep my 1 and 2 power creatures. I suppose Ballista can dodge it as well as Batterskull somewhat. I don't foresee widespread play but every card printed that works against us makes our job tougher in the long run. We can probably figure that there won't be much colorless or artifact help in this next block after Kaladesh brought a lot of artifacts to the table. Yes I'll keep playing Warping Wail. Smile

So I've been thinking of an extra utility fatty out of the SB. Akroma, Angel of Fury Not necessarily a game ender, but flying evasion, can't be blue bounced or Path'd. It also has the ability to come onto the field as a 2/2 Morph (dodges NoSB) for 3 in a pinch if you draw her and don't have any token generators so she could be sacked to Poly/Creativity. Her pump ability for red would be good as well as you would be bound to have somewhere from 2 to 5 red mana (or more with any Rituals). And theoretically you could hard cast her or more realistically pay her 3RRR Morph cost if she stayed on board. Terminate or Dreadbore still kill her though. I may wedge a copy of her into the 15.

Also had a thought forHellkite Overlord due to its haste, evasion and pump-ability for the SB as well. Has no protection though.

    Let me change my tactic.

If someone wants to play two copies of Conduit of Ruin I'm all for it even if it means you want to run Bane of Bala Ged or even Myr Battlesphere in the 7 cmc slot under Ulamog. I just want to see Conduit played in more lists. Good luck testing. Smile

Yep I think the in order of "end-the-game-ness" it goes

    1. Old Emmy
    2. Old Ulamog
    3. Worldspine Wurm
    4. Blightsteel Colossus
    5. New Emmy

Past that anything else may not close out the game although some could come close.

BoBG could be worth it playing against a non-white list for sure. Any W list running Path and BoBG has a big target painted on it. You may not even get an attack in for the annihilator 2 ability. S-Titan will virtually guarantee you 1 land destroyed and more than likely 2 on his way in. On his way out another 1 or 2 possibly. Granted in the mirror match it isn't that good though. There is still a lot of Dismember out there and again in the mirror match a 7/5 won't last long. All 3 have their pros and cons for sure. Deceiver of Form even has a good amount of pros in that slot. A Scry 1 every turn and the ability to turn Reshapers and/or TKS into Smashers is good. I've pulled that one off before and its fun fun fun.

BoBG will likely trade with Goyf or DS (or Gurmag Angler). S-Titan will probably take the hit, make the kill and survive. I'm just not sure which would be best in the 60. Meta dependent I suppose. P-Angel is the most fragile of the 3 but could have the most upside. BoBG and Deceiver can be cost reduced off Temple though. Beats the heck out of me which may be the best choice.

Dismember may be on the downswing but Goyf and DS can easily block and kill a BoBG.

Sundering Titan on the other hand could take out either of the above two on an attack and punishes the opponent spending a removal spell on it. Path is still out there and prevalent.

It could, but we have to sack a creature and that works against Craterhoof. I've never had more than 6 tokens out on the board at one time as well and usually have 1 or 2 when I combo off. Seems more of a mid to late game play and I'm often dead by mid to late game with my all in list. I'll keep it in mind. Smile

The problem I've had with Conduit is that it was often in my hand while I had exactly 6 mana or less than 6 mana. So when I cast it, it was better for me not to find anything with it. So I cut the Conduit and now prefer running the Sanctum of Ugin package, since it gives me a lot of ways to tutor up Ulamog in the late game.

It can happen, that is why I run Deceiver of Form. And why I am going to switch to Platinum Angel or Sundering Titan. A 7 or 8 cmc creature needs to be run in concert with Ulamog in case of that scenario you presented. With my ramp package its often unnecessary to have Tron on board to cast Conduit. If you have the mana to cast Endbringer, you have the mana to cast Conduit. Smile

Torrential Gearhulk is a control finisher (recently adopted in "Blue Moon") but I don't see how it is relevant here.

Correct. Whatever is cheated out needs to be a game ender. That is the point of the deck in my estimation. I can say I've thought about Urabrask the Hidden as a compliment with Emmy/Ulamog for the Haste it gives to Emmy. But it would only work with Creativity and 2 targets and not Polymorph. And it would be too easy to "whiff" into Urabrask. For my list the current need seems to be how to cast the combo at instant speed on opponents end step. Just too much removal out there for tokens to disrupt the "combo". I think I will go -4 Mass Hysteria and +4 Quicken in the main 60.

Angel is solid and requires an answer. It's extremely satisfying to play it against burn or elves or zoo, the look on people's face when you cast it is worth it alone lol.

I'll have to test it just for "the look". Wink

I'm hoping more will play Conduit and find out for themselves. Its not better than Endbringer in a vacuum, 1 on 1, but its better in tandem with Ulamog or another Titan/Angel. I hope more people give it a try. The 2 mana discount is a real thing too. Using Mind Stones for just one mana seems silly to me. Oh well, to each their own. Smile

What are your thoughts on this?

First off, welcome to the fold. Smile

As for SB, check out what many are posting up and then decide what is best for your meta. You will want some combo of Pithing Needle, Ratchet Bombs, Surgical Extraction and Relics, everything else is "flavor to taste".

I agree that 5 green spells is far too many and playing star/ sphere is not good. Im also not a fan of World breaker. In my experience 3 ancient stirrings is the sweet spot. My draws may just be really good but stirrings has been really good for me. Its literally the best cantrip in the entire format and continues to work.

Don't worry, I'm not going to run that list I posted. I wish I could just flat swap Breaker for Deceiver of Form and call it a day. A 7 cmc Eldrazi is VERY relevant in a list that runs Conduit of Ruin as you cannot always just rip Ulamog and cast it. Again I feel a lot of people are missing the boat on Conduit into Ulamog. Ulamog finishes games. Turn 3 Conduit into turn 4 Ulamog is backbreaking. And yes I've done it several games. Conduit into Deceiver of Form isn't that great, but just acceptable due to its Scry 1 effect. Conduit into Breaker killing a land or artifact, with reach can be far more punitive and protective than Deceiver. I'm just about to switch over to Platinum Angel or Sundering Titan in place of Deceiver. Guess I need to test them. Smile

G splash may need to be addressed in another thread, especially if it gets into RG splash. I wish we had a G splash sub thread to this one to discuss just those builds.

My concerns are what have already been stated. How can you splash 4 or 5 G spells with only 4 sources of G in the deck (maybe 6 total sources with Chromatic Sphere)? There are going to be hands where you are sitting on a World Breaker and a Stirrings and a hand full of Tron Lands or <> lands. That is bad news.

I have been dying to use World Breaker with Conduit of Ruin in my list. 1 Ulamog and 1 Breaker with 2 Conduits seems good for my list. I would want 3 or 4 Stirrings then. At 4 or 5 spells with a requirement of G mana I am going to have to heavily rework my mana base or pull all 4 Chalice for 4 Spheres. Reliably casting Stirrings is going to take a major revamp of the Colorless EldraziTron mana base or alter it with a bunch of Eggs. I say if you want to do it fine. I just think we need a sub-thread for it. Smile

If I were to go G splash I think my list would change to this…

Not sure about the SB in a G splash version.

I've been playing some more practice games vs. my EldraziTron deck loaned out to test. Mixed results again. One of the problems is that the "combo" can be disrupted by a timely instant speed removal on the token you are going to sacrifice. I can reliably combo on turn 3 or 4 probably 3/4 of the time, the thing is it may be disrupted half of those instances. D90Dennis suggested Quicken a while back and I think I may be pulling Mass Hysteria for it to be able to combo at instant speed just a turn later and on opponents end step.

Its really all or nothing the way it stands. Out of the blue you can take the game but opponents catch on quick. SB is still an issue as well for me. I'm not giving up on it though. Smile
