True that. Changed it to that because I think it's a bit fairer and more interesting to be able to flash in blockers, get value from Mind Over Matter etc than to be able to turn your army into cards at any time. I think this version is pretty sweet!

There are a couple 0 cost constructs:
Free Memnite's and Phyrexian Walker's aren't broken enough to do much on their own, but with a Phyrexian Altar things might be a little bit too crazy otherwise.
Also, with current wording you could cycle your whole deck with a 1/0 cost creature. D'oh! Both of these can be solved with something like:
Discard X cards: Put target Horror, Zombie or Construct with converted mana cost X from a graveyard into the battlefield at the start of the next end phase. I edited the OP to reflect this.

I think you're probably right. Perhaps 1UBR would be better, it would open up more in his tribes anyway - and this card is begging for madness and hellbent...

The new Ludevic, Necro-Alchemist has been spoiled, and to me and others it seems like a bit of a flavour fail. Why does he do what he does? It makes very little sense and seems like a waste of a named character just to push Partner. So here's my take!
    Ludevic, Necro-Alchemist 1UBR
    Legendary Creature — Human Wizard
Discard X cards: Put target Horror, Zombie or Construct with converted mana cost X from a graveyard into the battlefield. X can't be 0.
tap symbol Sacrifice a Horror, Zombie or Construct: Draw a card.
    2/4
This is in flavor for red-blue, because he has discard and draw.
It lets you run the kind of creatures Ludevic has always been associated with.
Best of all, those tribes have loads of great synergies with both effects!

Venser, shaper savant is another card I'm considering adding in. Another big Reveillark target is only a good thing in this deck. I like the idea of your deck, it's very similar to one of the first versions I worked on, with a more white weenie approach. Epochrasite is a card I hadn't considered for the hard-to-fill 2 drop slot. But, given I'm running Cloudshift, I feel like going for a higher curve is better, obviously flickering small creatures usually gives bad value. That's why I run Vapor snag instead of 1-drops.

The way I select cards is based on getting the most value out of Cloudshift. Evoking mulldrifter is the cornerstone play because even if they kill the fish you draw 2, so you replace the cards you use. I've managed to keep the mana requirements down to balance that out a lot. My main concern with Restoration Angel is the 3 power, because Reveillark is so key to my game plan most of the time. It lets you make back the resources you will lose to an opponent's removal.

Nephalia smuggler might be a decent 1/2-of.

    UW Blink

Hi all. I'm a newcomer to the forums here and a relative newcomer to the game. Having played TCG's for a long time, however, my first instinct was always going to be to put together a unique deck of my own. I settled on a blue white deck with a focus on blink effects, to play casually at home and use as a first deckbuilding project to improve. There has been a reasonable amount of interest in this idea before now, but fairly little in Modern.

I'm working on a Modern brew, with a midrange game plan based on playing an aggressive game into control and a controlling game into aggro. I don't have as much time to play-test as I would like, and so I'd love to get some constructive suggestions to improving my current build, particularly from anyone running a deck like this, and maybe inspire some others to try a deck like this out! I expect my sideboard plan and land base are probably the weakest aspects at present.

    Here's my current deck list:

First I'll explain the cards that are in the deck, then some cards that did not make this cut, and finally cards I'm considering to enhance the deck (as this is still a very rough cut), once I get my hands on them.

Wall of Omens - Not much to say, it draws a card and walls out early threats.
Mulldrifter - The best card in the deck. Evoke it, blink it, draw 4 cards, net a 2/2 flyer and blink outlet.
Blade Splicer - A very strong card by itself. Between the two bodies and the first strike, this is a headache to remove if it resolves.
Sagu Mauler - Probably the best morph creature for this deck. Play it face down, blink it, receive hexproof fatty. Easy to remove before it's flipped, be careful with this. You might prefer Akroma, Angel of Fury.
Reveillark - Our finisher, and a true beast. You won't use the evoke in this deck. Combos with every creature except Mauler. Gets value even if removed, you need only fear countermagic if you have mana for this.
Clever Impersonator - Any Clone card works here. The double-U is annoying, but is made up for by the sheer versatility this has. Copy a planeswalker and ult first. Copy an O-ring. Just be careful, you can only blink it if it's still a creature.
Cloudshift - Essential 4-of, the engine of this deck. For one mana you can draw 2 cards, summon a 3/3, revive 2 cards, etc etc. If you can't get value from this you've probably already lost.
Path to exile - We're in white, this is white, this is probably the best removal. Take it.
Vapor Snag - A valuable card for this deck. Buys time in our weak early turns against aggro plans, and has occasional use on our own stuff.
Remand - Like the previous card, this is here to buy turns before we can make our 4+ mana plays.
Momentary Blink - Probably the second best option for blink, and its namesake. It's in both our colours, with the flashback giving serious card advantage.
Phyrexian Revoker - We want classic cards stapled to ETB effects. This is Pithing needle.
Disenchant - Enchantment/ artifact hate, not much to say.
Tormod's Crypt - Graveyard hate that leaves ours alone, so as not to hurt Reveillark.
Dismember - A little more removal never hurt.
Negate - A bit more countermagic if the situation calls for it.
Sun Titan - Honestly, with so many good choices at 2-power or below, and drawing rather than discouraging removal, Reveillark is just better.
Deadeye Navigator - Mana cost is just too high!
Flickerwisp - Very good card, I started off running 4. However, 3 mana is too much for a blink, and this can't combo off at instant speed.
Cloudfin Raptor - This card and other evolve cards just don't get enough added value from blinks. A delver will end up being better most of the time.
Cryptic Command - A bit too control for this midrange build. This deck can easily be taken in such a direction if desired.
Snapcaster Mage - Undeniably good, even here, but won't get much value outside of the Paths or Remands. Good synergy with Reveillark. Like the Command this could easily make it into a more blue-focused list.
Venser, the Sojourner - A nice idea, but compare this to Cloudshift. Then compare this to Reveillark. It costs way too much for a blink, even a reusable one, and just doesn't pay the bills as a finisher.
Restoration angel - While I don't feel the deck needs more blink, this card is just so good. I can see this pushing out the Maulers, most likely.
Augury Owl - 3 is a lot of scry. This card can ping for 1 and chump in the air. This deck is crying out for a better blink target than wall of omens at the 2-slot, and this might just be it. It's also possible it will be a less smooth card in practice.
Fiend hunter - We like good effects slapped onto Enter-the-battlefield. This is our Oblivion Ring. This may be fighting Resto Angel for the Mauler's slots.

From my testing so far, the weakest cards in the deck are the Walls, and the Maulers. The walls don't offer much when blinked. The Maulers are very vulnerable unless you have a blink in hand (though a 6/6 hexproof trampler for 4 is undeniably good when it does happen). The main cards I'm looking for are more solid ETB effects. There are several strong ETB's at 3+ mana, but this deck would get a significant boost with better options at the 2 drop level. While I doubt this deck has a huge amount to offer at the higher level it is fun to play, fun to play against, and offers a lot of potential for improvement. I look forward to some constructive suggestions/tips!
