Oh wow, Ninth Bridge Patrol seems really good! I honestly can't believe I didn't consider that card. I would definitely give it a shot. As for Hidden Stockpile, adding black is difficult, and what definitely require shocks and fetches for consistency's sake. I think it's doable, but the trick is getting the manabase to fit under budget. If you don't need a budget option, I would go all out for shocks and fetches. Otherwise, you will get color screwed.
The deck struggles against combo, and sometimes has issues racing those decks. It's an inherent problem of the deck, and may require a dedicated sideboard plan -- it's a facet of the deck that made it fall out of favor.

Jun 15, 2017CavalryWolfPack posted a message on Treasure Cruisin' with Norin's SistersCopter seems like a very good fit in this deck. Plus, it's very cheap! Lightning Berserker seems a little too niche to me, but I believe there is a strong case for including it nonetheless. Lieutenant is a card that you really want in a dedicated Humans strategy. I recommend seeing Corbin Hosler's Boros Humans deck if Lieutenant is something you're interested in. Militia Captain is tricky because it requires you to have creatures. This is not a problem, but on an empty board it's just a bear. Maybe try it as a singleton? As for Return to the Ranks, it could be good, but never a playset. I would maybe try one or two copies. The problem I came across with Norin is how large the core is -- there isn't much wiggle room to try new things. You either play some singletons or change the core of your deck, which is already very difficult. Don't let that stop you though! There is always merit to trying something new.Posted in: Articles

The indestructible is great, but keeping two mana up can difficult because it stops us from building our board state and the deck is mana hungry. You could certainly run the Charm because it's more versatile.Posted in: Articles

Fat surprise there
Sorry for the extremely late response, I've been busy. I actually run no other sweepers in the side, but I also play Magma Jet over Mind Stone, so ymmv.
As for Dragon Skred, I've played a little bit of it, but I'm playing my own version. I won't share a list yet because I'm still really tinkering with it, but I think Draconic Roar is a lot better than we're giving it credit for. While it looks really odd, one thing I like about it is it burns the opponent incidentally. Keep in mind every creature in the deck has 4 power, translating to 5 hits from our creatures to kill the opponent. Dealing damage while killing something means we get to move the clock while also controlling the game. Combined with a fetch/shock or a Chandra plus, it's one less hit to worry about. The ability is more impactful than one would think. That said, I cut them to test maindeck Abrade, but this is more for experimentation than because I thought Roar was bad. I'm still messing with it, but I'll get back to y'all soon.
One of these days I'll be more active here...

This deck is certainly more casual than other 1 vs 1 decks. However, it really is just an amalgamation of cards that I love. Sure Blood Sun isn't amazing in the format, but I love it and want to play it. Chandra isn't the best commander, but she's my favorite planeswalker card ever printed, how could I not run her? The deck is so much fun to play, I think I might keep it post-rotation and see if people will still play against it. If you're looking for other mono red decks, I suggest looking at 3drink's thread on Kari Zev, Skyship Raider and darrenhabib's primer on Hazoret, the Fervant aggro. This is more of a space for sharing different takes on Chandra than anything else. Thoughts on the above list and other lists are welcome!
As someone who plays Chandra, ToF as their commander, I'm kinda sad that I have to deal more damage to my opponent, but I don't perceive it being a huge problem.
Sweltering Suns is always going to do something. Whether you cast it to wipe the board or cycle it, you will always pay three mana to at least do something. This is much different than AotG, which cannot cycle for the added benefit of exiling everything that it kills. Suns, despite the cycling, didn't make the deck feel any more consistent than it already does. Much for the same reasons that cycling Mind Stone is slow, cycling Sun costs the same amount of mana. True, it can be done at instant speed, whereas Stone requires you to pay two upfront and than the last mana later. Furthermore, while AotG's exile isn't relevant against a lot of decks, there are decks where it just obliterates the opponent -- Dredge, some CoCo decks, and the like. Here, Suns is infinitely worse, and the only reason to play Suns is for an expensive cycling ability. While there are times when drawing Anger is dead, if we are in topdeck mode and forced to cycle Suns we were probably losing anyway. On Friday, AotG just felt so much better in every way. Randomly hosing cards like Eternal Witness and Scavenging Ooze is amazing in some matchups and I wouldn't trade that away. For all of these reasons, I've found AotG to be the superior sweeper.
2x Scrying Sheets
4x Lightning Bolt
4x Skred
3x Anger of the Gods
4x Mind Stone (or Magma Jet, which I prefer against Jund)
3x Blood Moon
4x Koth of the Hammer (sometimes 3)
2x Chandra, Torch of Defiance (sometimes 3 if you're playing 3 Koth)
3x Pia and Kiran Nalaar
2x Stormbreath Dragon
Sideboards are largely meta dependent. I would include some number of Goblin Rabblemaster and a combination of artifact destruction no matter what, but after that it's up to you to figure out what pieces you need.
