Based on the two creatures with the "Adventure" mechanic (There is also Lovestruck Beast // Heart's Desire that reads:5/5 Lovestruck Beast Can't attack unless you control a 1/1 creature. // Create a 1/1 White Human Creature Token.), my guess would be that they may be reusable abilities: it doesn't make much sense to sacrifice or discard Lovestruck Beast just to get a 1/1 Creature Token, and using it as an Aftermath-style card feels very weak.
So, my guess is for Adventure: "You may cast an Adventure ability once per turn if you have attacked with a creature this turn". It's my best bet: it may be some other kind of triggered ability though.
EDIT: Or it may be "As an additional cost to casting an Adventure spell, exile the creature it is printed on. That creature comes back into play at the start of your next turn."

Aug 6, 2019My Mardu Pyromancer has been sitting on my deck for months, with a few of its cards moved here and there, but today I spotted this list: https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/2157267#paperPosted in: Midrange
It finished #2 at SCG IQ Modern New Holland and it looks grindy as hell! Just my kind of Midrange deck.
Here is the list for reference:

Where would they be reprinted? I would hold for $40/each. The price on Goldfish is 50$/each atm.
If the London Mulligan rule becomes official, they risk increasing in value, and they are very low supply.

Creature - Zombie Wizard
Whenever Dreadhorde Arcanist attacks, you may cast target instant or sorcery card with converted mana cost less than or equal to Dreadhorde Arcanist's power from your graveyard without paying its mana cost. If that card would be put into your graveyard this turn, exile it instead.
Not without any way to pump its power. It might be playable in Modern, but it needs suspend cards.

But does the vision of the Emrakul-esque angel foreshadow anything in War of the Spark, or was that just a projection of whatever force or being was speaking to Nissa back in Amonkhet?
A popular theory on reddit is that "The Wanderer" might be linked to Emrakul (or Emeria), based on the story you quoted and on her resemblance to the Emeria statue on Shrine of the Forsaken Gods.

Well, he only sees play in one of the 3 main GBx versions: GB Rock. Jund never runs him (prefering BBE) and Abzan has a choice between Kalitas and Anafenza. Plus, he was in Oath of the Gatewatch, a set with the powerful Eldrazis (Thought-Knot Seer, Eldrazi Mimic, Matter Reshaper, Reality Smasher) Oath of Nissa, AND Expeditions, so a lot of the value was captured by other cards.
Mar 7, 20191-2 Surgical Extraction in the main deck, as well as TiTi, are your answers for game 1. And no, they will most likely not be enough, since Dredge is the archetypical Game 1 deck: they are favored to win game 1 against most archetypes, and then have a harder time winning game 2-3 since everyone packs graveyard hate BECAUSE of this deck.Posted in: Aggro & Tempo
Mar 7, 2019Thinking about it, it would be a way to make Intro Pack Planeswalkers playable in a non-casual format. Those PW are deliberately made to be unplayable in constructed... but they would certainly be strong to play in limited formats.Posted in: The Rumor Mill
We will have to see, but they would need a lot of answers as well: most would probably need to turn into creatures to attack to prevent board stalls, Dreadbore/Hero's Downfall/a ton of burn...
Mar 6, 2019Crazy theory time: the reason they made planeswalkers Legendary is to have non-Legendary Planeswalkers!Posted in: The Rumor Mill
Mar 6, 2019I now believe that were will see a distribution of Planeswalkers similar to Legends in Dominaria: either a regular rare/mythic and an uncommon PW in a pack, or a rare/Mythic PW. It's the only way I see that makes sense if they truly want a "Planeswalkers-matter" set and, in my mind, the same distribution of promos in Prerelease packs as Dominaria confirms it.Posted in: The Rumor Mill
I shouldn't have sold off my Immortal Suns...
Feb 12, 2019Posted in: Aggro & TempoQuote from dmcdou2 »Is there a sideboard guide out there for Carr's mono-red list?
Yes, he posted an article, though it is premium on SCG. It is behind a paywall, but it will be accessible for everyone eventually: http://www.starcitygames.com/articles/38309_How-I-Went-16-0-With-Mono-Red-Phoenix-At-SCG-Baltimore.html
Someone also took another version of mono red Phoenix to a win at GO Toronto PTQ and wrote an article about it. Notably, he replaced Skewer the Critics with Forked Bolt: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-U51SJpjz2qIPuOApmyXJalpxaybfTbsXmHv7Dsv_6g/mobilebasic
Feb 4, 2019Yes, but he was very lucky his team carried him to victory in the finals: he was absolutely crushed by Mono red Phoenix both games (turn 3-4 kills, though to be fair, game 2 was a non game due to mana screw). Jeffrey Carr with his mono red Phoenix apparently ran 16-0 this weekend, losing only 5 games (I read it on Reddit, though I did hear the commenters saying he was personally undefeated day 2). The deck is absurdly explosive: game 2 of the finals he dealt 10 damage on turn 2.Posted in: Aggro & Tempo
Light Up the Stage and Skewer the Critics really pushed mono red.

NoSB and Ishkanah were for testing. I didnt like NoSB, would have rather had another Anger vs Elves, maybe its better vs scales affinity instead of Anger, not sure.
Many GBx players are playing Languish these days. It's really good versus Spirits in particular as well as the other go-wide decks. It is often still Goyf-friendly as well.
Whats the upside of playing Languish instead of Damnation besides the slight chance Goyf might surive? The downside of languish is also the chance your opponents creatures are too big.
Also Spirits play like 1 selfless spirits in the sideboard
There are several upsides. Sometimes, your Goyfs and Oozes can survive Languish, it can hit indestructible creatures or creatures with regeneration (not played a lot right not, but Thrun and Hazoret have seen play), Meddling Mage can only name one of your two sweepers, and UW Spirits does run 3-4 Selfless Spirits. It also costs a lot less than Damnation.
It makes sense to run 1 copy each of Damnation and Languish if you run two sweepers.

(As always, the fall set will turn out be something and someone will come out and say "I totally predicted it would be something.")
With the Ixalan flipping enchantments, I thought we would have been in Theros right now. The only hint I've seen of a possible return to Theros is the inclusion of Elspeth in the GRN Masterpiece edition.
Then, there is also the rumored Viking set. If there is a place where they could make the names of the Scars Fastlands work, apart from New Phyrexia, is a Viking world (Coast, Cliffs, Shores, Gorge and Thicket all sound like Scandinavia to me).

Jan 28, 2016I would not put too much value on Painful Truths. I think it's already near its top value at 3$ for its run in standard. Once KTK rotates out with its fetchlands, decks that run 3+ colors should no longer be the norm, especially since colorless is a "color" of its own with OGW. Read The Bones is better in 90% of cases in 1-2 color decks, only moderately weaker in a 3 color deck, is a common and is still with us in Innistrad.Posted in: Articles
There may be some value in the long run, due to Modern, but cheap alternatives are plentiful.
Jan 16, 2016SpinifexV posted a message on The Magic Market Index: Set Review of Oath of the GatewatchI agree with the list on all but one count: Vile Redeemer. In a GB self sacrifice deck or a rally/aristocrat deck, it can mean getting a lot more tokens to sacrifice at instant speed. It's not an all star, but I could see it going to 1-2$ if he shows up in such a deck.Posted in: Articles
