Didn't WOTC state that Amonkhet had changed when the rotation got re-jigged?
Highly suggest that would be mana base tweaking ie removal of fetches or duals. WOTC know how much a stable base is in standard, but between the BFZ lands and the new fast lands there likely wouldn't be many basic art played if they printed more duals.
Mini side event report: Bantdrazi got there for one modern on demand and daretti got there for a commander event, snagged enough prize tix for a booster box and a FTV:Lore. Masterpiece EE in the box!
Was 2-2 after throwing a match to hatebears early and landing myself in the "stupid decks" section of the hall, then a couple of easy beats in a row, ended up 5-4 drop so I could play side events today
Matchups were:
UW control - W (displacer/tks lock in 2 straight games)
Elves - W (Last minute cage purchases for the side paid off)
Hatebears - L (G3 path'd my smasher, I zoned out and didn't flicker it in response, couldn't recover...with him on 3 and only a wisp on board....)
Some lifegain&removal.dek pos brew (I did 45 damage and still lost, the salt was real) - L
Shaman tribal? - W (t3,4,5 smashers g1, t4 worship g2 with his rec sages still in his side)
Jund - W
Affinity - L (nuts in first and 3rd games, g2 stony got there)
Wilted Abzan - W
Bant mirror - L. Super close game, just drew different sides of the deck
All in all fairly happy with how the day went, issues with the missus the night before had me at 5hrs sleep before the event so all things considered didn't do too badly.
Things I would change: hatebears misplay, obv. - I ran 2/2 UWill/Stubborn side, 3 games I wished the UWill was any other creature counter.
Other than quite happy with the deck
Off to grind some modern and edh events for prize tix! Wish me luck all!!
I find G1 v moon that hierarchs,talismans and scions are usually enough to get me over the line with early beats, postboard things are obv a lot more comfortable.
I'm a world breaker advocate for the mirror because worship is a thing...yes natures claim over state fixes this but I have issues giving fish and affinity players 4 free life so early on in the game...
Given the big mana meta I'm not sure if bantdrazi will be underrepresented at GP Brisbane but I hate boardstalls lol
I've been running 2 forests 1 plains as my basics and haven't had any issues with mana base.
The thing about taking out cage is Goryos and Nahiri are still things and it happens to hit both of them.
I've also been on the 4 spawned 0 reshaper boat though
SB off the top of head is currently 2 Worship, 2 Unified will, 2 Stubborn, 2 RIP, 1 World breaker, 2 Natural state, 2 Blessed and 2 Stony
Although reconsidering 1 blessed and worldbreaker, infect is definitely still a thing and blessed is great utility, world breaker in there solely for lantern MU.
Working on an esper brew myself - I've gone fairly deep on the walker/removal path in the main, SB is all about creatures once they board out their removal!
I'm not going to lie, standard has become pretty meh for me so I just wanted to jam some walkers...

What's everyone's gameplan vs super quick decks like bushwhacker zoo?
Got 4th at a gpt on the weekend and only lost to the same deck....twice (once in swiss and once after cut), I just couldn't deal with t1 experi-1 to t2 guide to burning tree into whacker.
I think it's just a case of drawing the wrong side of my deck but the this matchup and decks that tend to create board stalls (abzan I'm looking at you) have me wondering about jamming 2 Dromokas command in the side.
Nice and cheap, easy colours, EOT removal if there's a tks or smasher on board and has the added benefit of being able to nuke blood moon or prevent that bolt!
That being said it is ALOT less resilient against removal like anger now so will drop in popularity, so whilst GY hate is still a requirement in the sb, we won't need to pack as much as we did, or we can pack different types.
Thankfully we are still very well placed in the developing meta so we don't need to shift too much.

At least CFB has a reputation to uphold and can potentially lose customers, companies like Chainlinks don't have that issue.

DComm was more a general afterthought for shenanigans, smasher example was more vs a boardstall where having more removal just seems good

Just adopted this from fish and has been treating me well so far, wrapped up my byes last week
