Mardu control is definitely a thing and it's brutal, have to venture fairly deep into red however, Nahiri comes into play etc etc...probably talk for another thread

If you can stabilise, this deck actually hits pretty hard once secure/sorin/gideon/vents become viable beatdown options - all about weathering the storm until then!
Also Linvala is a fairly solid creature option, I run one in the list as a stabiliser and she's always been value+
I run 2 MB languishes, 1 descend and 3 declarations, in addition to all the spot removal it's fairly easy to keep a board stabilised from that point if you draw right.
Last night went 3-1 vs Mardu control, BG gy shenanigans, BE allies and GW humans.
Vs humans went 2-1, the game I lost it turned out to be a terrible shuffle and got stuck on the 2 lands from my opening hand until turn 11. Other 2 games he consistently got me to sub 5 life, stabilised the board and sorin'd to victory
I'm going to be picking up some infinite obl it's for the SB - this Mardu deck in the local meta with dark dwellers just wrecks... So much value!
PS I really want to run Elusive Tormentor, it's one of my fav cards in SOI...just every time I look at what it does for the cost I just want to put planar outburst or another descend in in its place...
Also on the Bant Company talk - might it be time to investigate (hahaaaa) the pick the brain + delirium route? If we can nab the company early and be done with them all it would GREATLY increase our chances...so T4 delirium (best case scenario) T5 strip the companies if possible?
The land base has been super solid, I've only mulled once and it was only due to wanting early exile removal in place of destroy (vs Mardu). Got stuck on only painlands for black sources one game vs UR but it didn't have any bearing on the game at the end of it
Linvala is a tricky one, she's actually hit the board twice and both times were just as a stall tactic (life and 2 free flying blockers are pretty decent at stabilising).
Avacyn is vs control (both mirror and UR etc) and aggro, the ability to flash her in usually means the end of a planeswalker or clutch blocks - she's been quality all round and has performed well, have honestly considered main boarding to be honest....
So this is my current list, went quite well FNM last week, although folded to Mardu control using darkdweller/k command trains unfortunately.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
My current thoughts are side the Duress and bring in the Transgress to the mb, potentially swap out the oaths for more removal?
SB is currently all over the shop while I figure out the local meta...have only played UR control, Mardu control and BR Vamps (I know there are 3 of these around locally).
I really like that control deck above...although imo -1 Gideon +1 Sorin (he's THAT good) imo...keen to get back to the LGS for some testing!!!
I am partial to Ob coming down earlier but perhaps Sorin is the right swap. Also not convinced by Descend, the exile seems rarely needed and Delirium rarely triggers. Plus more Declaration before Silkwraps. I don't know about running Ruinous Path and Stasis Snare. Does U.Price hit consistently enough that it's worth running over Grasp of Darkness not sure what Grasp misses that U.Price doesn't. The double black leads me to want to cut the double white spells but maybe Snare is that good that you just go for it.
I'm not sure what that removal package in the board is trying to hit... Maybe you keep Quarantine Field out of it, but the risk seems too risky for me.

Personally I'm a fan of Descend over outburst at this stage in the meta, way too many sneaky avacyns flying about...
Biggest issue with grasp over price is only if their stuff gets too big via Thalia's lieutenant, always watching etc, other than that 1B is easier than BB I suppose? Swapping 1 for 1 is probably fairly solid though.
Path and snare I haven't played with yet in this meta, although path could shine in a drawn out game, awakening a vent etc (and planeswalker removal is always nice with chandras and sorins around)
I'm actually running 1 Linvala main just as a late game bomb if needed, 2 Avs SB etc....will try to post a deck list when I get home tonight

Going minimal creatures full control build, abbeys, a linvala, vents, sorins and gideons for beatdown.

Heaps not set in stone but I think I like the direction it's in...wondering whether I need to run a couple more board clears though.
Also it looks like UW humans is looking to start running the new dispel for sorceries, brutal stuff...
