So i am trying to get some cards that are not available in my country and i was wondering if you guys have any prefered store aside from ebay and starcitygames. Tried with tcgplayer but they wont allow the use of overseas curriers services (the shipping adress and the credit card adress have to match). Anyone have any ideas where i can get them from?

Power level is dismal, value rightnow terrible. I do not loke coresets ever since they decided to chnage the name and started creating new cards for them on the excuse of plummeting sales, bad card choices was more like it.

Well less money since you still need to invest on lands or generals like bolas etc. Still one copy is cheaper than 4. Brawl is going the tiny leaders way, if mtg arena does not implement the format as casual free to play i see this format desapearing in 6 months tops.

So this card is unique but SB mostly after it does its job of detroning tron. Also i like to think that the name is a pun telling eldrazy and tron to go to hell.

Terrible set. I was expecting either a colectible or a full set. Who is this aiming for? At 20$ i would rather buy packs. There is a store nearby that is going to be stuck with 10+ of this 20$ Carboardboxes full of nothing and they are not on good financial footing. Wizzards has betrayed themselfs again traying to please too many people. Its time they start to take risks and stop missing opportunities like this.

It's abundantly clear who this is aiming for.

    From Wizards (emphasis mine): https://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/feature/creating-global-series-jiang-yanggu-mu-yanling-2018-06-07

"After years of research and analysis, we've found that a key to getting people into Magic is . . . getting them to try Magic!"

"we do an incredible amount of work on introductory products."

"It's easy to glance past these if you've been playing Magic for ages, but they are a tremendous piece of what makes Magic work."

"So, what if we made a product to bring Chinese players into Magic? To give them that initial taste..."

"...we just need to get players started"

"An introductory product would be perfect."

"Now, to properly set expectations: these are essentially special Planeswalker Decks for a Chinese audience."

"After much discussion, we settled on something unusual: these cards would be legal for Standard play in mainland China events. They will also be legal in Vintage and Legacy everywhere. They will never be Modern legal, because once they rotate out of Standard, the reason they were Standard legal no longer applies. However, one very, very important element to us was not to fracture the competitive scene. Having Chinese Standard and European or North American Standard look very different would not be good for the game, because it creates discordant information and doesn't allow information and decklists from one place to transfer over to the other."

"So, Play Design was very careful to make sure that the cards were balanced so that none of them were cards for Constructed."

"After all, the most important aspect of these decks is that they teach you how to play."

Seriously people, Wizards COULD NOT HAVE MADE IT MORE CLEAR: 1. WHO these cards are for; and 2. Why the power level/complexity exists as it does.

Sorry but friends are the reason people start playing, then they get hooked on art then they stay for the challenge. The first product that got me hooked was the deckmastes product, that featured a magic the gathering champion vs the creator of the game.

This product at 20$ gives so much less than that one. And in my opinion is made like the holyday gift boxes to be bought as a gift by your non magic friends. All the complexity saved on the cards is added on the fact that these are not std legal everywhere so i guess it's meant to teach newbies to play something other than std.

  • posted a message on Please, opinions for my Narset deck!
I personally do not like cards like omniscience in narset since they rarely change the tide of games when cast. If you like to focus more on planeswalkers a card like inexorable tide could win games on sheer accumulation of emblems.

you can also use stuff that turns into creatures. like myth realized and Guardian Idol.

Haven't we learned that reprinting a bunch of the overpriced cards won't have a huge impact on the price?

I'm pretty sure we learned the opposite. See Chronicles.

And that was how many moons ago? demand has increased to the point that a normal print run wont ruin prices in fact if anything demand has tripled since many players now require one off many old cards for their commander deck. Its is not just modern now commander is the new eternal format and its driving prices into the stratosphere see for example gamble from a dollar bin rare to a 20+ staple. We require more old reprints in order to keep prices from balloning and crashing.

Got mine a while ago i had an extra reliquary tower in the deretti deck and was missing some lands on the black deck. Nothing to ship them back for but the extra card in deretti freaked me out for a momment when i thought i had lost a mayor card.

I think the issue here is the perception of Magic versus the reality. Magic is marketed towards teens and young adults primarily. It is marketed to approximately the same demographic that plays modern video games such as Dragon Age and Halo. Teens and young adults don't have much spare money, and to them, $50-$60 (the price of a new video game) is about all the can reasonably produce for quality entertainment. Because of this, they assume Magic follows the same trend. $50-$60 dollars should get me a good deck. Not some indie budget deck, but a Good deck. Unfortunately for them, Magic has a much higher price ceiling than $50-$60, and many new players don't realize this until they are already losing and disappointed with their purchase.

Golf, skiing, and even paintball to a lesser extent, have the perception of being a more expensive hobby. Magic doesn't have that same perception (a pack of cards is only $3.99!?), and that can be misleading depending on what you expect your experience with Magic to be like.
100% agree also some people will rip you off when you start, heck even after that. Sharks are a thing this days and you should be aware of prices and winning decks at all times.

To the OP: You are correct, there is no room for casual decks on today's FNM, specialy in big stores and cities with lots of players.
This hobby has evolved far beyond the kitchen table where there are millions of dollars in prices and events across multiple countries.
The international community drives the prices up to a point never before seen in the history of the game.

If you want casual get your organizer to run special turnaments like pauper or get together a commander deck (heck even commander is cutthroat now).

My point is that that is how things are nowdays casual has lost its appeal since there si so much to be gained and most folks are going after the free candy
at the end of the night for top 8 or top4 depending on attendace and cost of event.

My advice if you dont want to spend so much cash, get a different hobby.

Obviously, this card is rare because of its implications in limited. I don't see anything wrong with the rarity, seems right to me.

So it was pushed to rare because of limited, looks like a last minute filler rare to me.

I like its unique ability, still could not help to notice how similar it is to other common cards of the past.

It seems like a filler last minute rare like Emmara Tandris. At this point i expect another Voice of Resurgence (random reindeer mythic with godlike ability) to show up sooner or later. I wonder if WOTC is getting overwhelmed by the increased number of coming blocks and has started to churn out last minute changes as policy now.
