Wow it like you people have never played equipment before. Yes you can work up to 9 mana or you know, play it turn 4 and then put on a creature turn 5. :p

I also love doing nothing on turns 4 and 5.

If by doing nothing youn mean setting up the win then yes, I too love doing nothing for 2 turns.

I sm fine with pw becoming generals. It would have been interesting, if you they had raise their loyalty to become a little like the garruk in the mini game at the pre-release. Imagine if commander pw had double their loyalty from the command zone, but you lose the game when they are killed. The game would play different, you would have to chose if you want to cast you general at all or if you want to ultimate as you cast and risk a surprise death.

So what creatures are currently relevant in standard, that this thing can Block profitably?
It also depends on your definition of profitable. Is getting two hornets while this dies profitable? Is getting three? How many does it need to be? I mean, yes, there's the dream scenario of your opponent having a 1/X creature with "this creature must attack if able" producing an army of creatures over time, but that's not really necessary for it to be profitable, I think.

Symmetrical effects aren't. That is one of the most basic rules of deck building if you cannot brake it why put it on the deck? A deck with this needs sweepers and cheap creature-only damage at instant speed (if possible) so it can swarm EOT. There is so many possibilities to turning damage into board presence that has been pointed out on this thread i suggest to take a look.

The one YOU like the much! That's right, the person reading this comment, YOUR favourite format is objectively confirmed by scientists to be the best!

i whole heartedly approve of this message and also like to add that i prefer Commander because, as stated by the Royal Academy of Magic, "It gives (me) freedom of deck construction as well as the most fun for the money."

Bestow was WAY more cooler then. I really wish we where given aura creatures properly since they would make the game better. If mirrodin whole artifact craziness had not happened i suspect we might have seen something like that.

Also WOTC if you are reading this please reprint Idyllic Tutor in the next commander set. I was tricked out of mine back in the day and i still reel from my lack of foresight now that i play Pre-release and commander exclusively.

THAT IS NOT A SLIVER, WIZARDS!

I dont get why the art on the land depicts the old sliver hive. maybe they now are like zerg who become what they eat?

Well that is one way of flippin the bird to a lot of decks in EDH ! Bruna got a new bff.

I´m really bummed that this creature affects your creatures too, thats why it got flash ofc. Are there cards that can make this creature not affect you?

if this dude was any better he be banned while in modern like the Card advantage elf, or that floating stone girl.

Site is bad to say the least, but i have not bothered with content on the mothership since they destroyed their forums with the gleemax stuff. guess gleemax next target is to turn the main website useless as well.

  • posted a message on Omen machine + Ward of bones clarification.
So today i had the Omen Machine and Ward of bones soft lock out, and somebody pointed out that it is possible the order on which the two pieces come into play affects weather the lock works or not.

    This is the game state:

Omen Machine resolves, the next turn i play Ward of bones.

It was said that, in this case, the lock will not work due to the order in which the permanents came into play.

I thought that the effects happened on different layers,

In the end we played it as if the order did not matter since the most common answer we found online did not cover this issue of layers at all.

    Thanks for the help!

Let's say that I can get any rare or mythic for $5 online. What does this mean for me and my local store?

    1) I won't buy a box from my LGS at each set release any more. I can get all the cards I want online more cheaply.
    2) My local store will only be able to sell packs for Limited events. They'll make less money, and probably have to lay someone off or curtail their hours.
    3) My friend who collects angels will be able to finish his collection easily. But none of his cards will be worth much or be hard to get, so the fun of seeking rare cards is gone. He might as well collect Ace of Spades playing cards.
    4) The guys who play EDH after FNM will be happy that they can all run Gaea's Cradle. They'll post on the forums about how fakes don't hurt anybody. Then they'll lose their EDH space because the store is closing early. They won't realize it is related.

    4) No one is saying fakes are good just that they are a direct consequence of a bad outdated policy made on a time of crisis.
    3) Collecting does not nesecarely mean that the object hoarded is valuable (its value is dictated by you since you decide what to collect). What i want to say is that money is the least important motivation to start collecting.
    2) This is how it goes, smart players and good players always find a way to go infinite, or realize that buying on the secondary market is 1000 times better than craking packs for leveling up. Packs are for begginers and sealed.
    1) This is already the case with spoliers available before release thus why wizards has clamped down on them to keep us interested. Also cards will always be speculated more at the start than say 2 weeks into the release, therefore smart customers know that waiting is the best play unless the value of the box is low compared to expected pulls (example: Nyx god packs, zendikar treasures, urza saga, jace lotery, etc)

i do agree that given the age and composition of the people that play magic (older, now its been like 20 years eh?) the fact that the cards hold some value is an issue but most of us are here for the competition, flavor, etc. However if this game is to keep existing 13 year old jhonny should be able to put together a competitive deck for FNM with lunch money else he might decide its better to spend his little cash into other pastimes like friends and the miriad of better more exiting games of this day and age.

  • posted a message on Seeing the Way - Playing With a Blind Person
I honestly wont mind playing a blind person, nor do i believe that aid from their guide could be considered cheating.
I would love to see magic embrace this demographic too. I think that online play could be the best answer. Still, that is lots of code for a very obscure demographic i dont know if WOTC would ever consider creating an interface that could help a blind player understand game state without the aid of a guide given how few there seem to be out there.

I hope that one day cards become easier to interpret by readers (like those wierd codes you can look up with your cellphone) I read that in the M15 expansion they are adding a code to cards to make them machine readable, that could go a long way to create a better more inclusive game that keeps track of itself and declares what is going on as would a baseball narrator in the olden days.

Best of luck hope WOTC is really looking into this.

right out of the box this gets crushed hard, its very likely WOTC decided against consistency to promote "fun in building." The value seems ok to me but this decks are not about value but competivness which to me is increased with consistency. This decks is not turnament ready nor does it led itself to be build into a competitive deck.

Build it for the pieces otherwise you are better off netdecking the stuff on the competitive forum.
